yeah, I found that too. I thought the slot machine numbers were a clue for the code for the lockers, but that didn't seem to work

Got a cork from the tank as well and my net's gone
Combine cork w/ gun and shoot can.

Yay now I got the Happy End.
1st time I played game was different from 2nd time.
When u play 1st time u get Normal End then u restart and the game changes a little for u to get the Happy End.
Wierd u got it after playing only once.
wow, i must be missing something for the happy end.. all i have is the candy apple, fish, and empty coin purse left.. what do i do next?

How does one get the Blue key?
Hi Karen! Didn't find the blue key yet, only the red one. Stuck with 5 numbers on a card and fish.
Sorry, I meant, found blue key, but need sd or s. th. like this to get it.
Get the blue key by giving the apple to the dog
Thanks for telling us how cool you are getting out and all, but could somebody please share some useful tips with us poor mortals? I'm stuck with a fish and a number code, which I can't do anything with :(

@Anna use number clue from slotmachine on drawer to get money bag, than take money from it to buy candy apple

There are 2 games here, depending on the order you do things at the beginning of the game.
If you play the slot machine before getting the tokens you cannot get the candy apple.
HAPPY END PLAY
Go left.
Trash bin has YELLOW COUPON.
Take coupon to store with target to get CORK GUN.
RED KEY in bottom right locker.
Opens red box for FISHNET.
Use net to get RED FISH and CORK.
Load gun with cork to get GREEN CANISTER.
Open Canister to get TOKENS.
Put tokens in left slot machine to get 4-DIGIT CODE (1979).
Enter code in locker to get COIN PURSE.
Open purse for 500 yen COIN.
Use coin to buy CANDY APPLE.
Candy apple to dog (down from exit door) for STICK.
Stick on grate right of candy apples for BLUE KEY.
Blue key opens blue box for FAN.
FAN gives color code.
Count ceiling lanterns using color codes of fan.

Play left slot machine to get 4-DIGIT CODE (6205).
Use code to open locker for YELLOW COUPON.
RED KEY in bottom right locker.
Opens red box for FISHNET.
Use net to get RED FISH and CORK.
Take coupon to store with target to get CORK GUN.
Load gun with cork to get GREEN CANISTER.
Open Canister to get 5-DIGIT CODE (turn upside down).
Enter code at door and leave.

Thx for the great WT, Puzzle! I'ld never realize how to get the red apple for doggy, because I played the version leading to normal end and was going round and round searching the apple resp. the money bag!
I think it's randomized, not selectable by the user.
Because I did not yet have the coin but I was not able to press any of the slot machine buttons, let alone start the thing. According to your WT, this would have had to be possible if you really can "select" the ending.
i think the alternatives depends on you take the bone from the trash before anything, (maybe before the red key), or not.
anyway, as i remember, when i first played this game, i think i can not use slot machine without coin, but i tried the normal ending.
I replayed a third time to see how the game manifests....
I went left and looked in the trash bin, saw a ticket...but did not take it!
Then I went to the machines and the left one was activated, so I pushed the button and got the 6205 code.
I went back to trash bin and the ticket was no longer there! A fourth play proved that taking the ticket...disables the slot machine.....
So, IMHO....the game end is not random , but is designated by the choice of ticket, or slot machine! ...as was written clearly in the WT! Thanks, @PuzzledinCA
@Nokra: You're right, I tried the same order of playing as you did and got the two different endings! You only can play with the slot machine if you did not take the ticket first. Then you have to put in coin and get other 4 #s.
@nokra -- thanks for the test! I never tried that (seeing the ticket in the trash and not taking it)! (So had my fingers crossed that I'd figured out the game correctly.)
So it's the ticket from the trash bin of all things that makes the difference. Thanks for the insights everyone :)
