       Anonymous  8/30/11, 12:08 AM

It wasn't cream but salt, lol. You got it in the house from jar.

       Anonymous  8/30/11, 12:10 AM

Tuesday evening in NZ - stuck with three critters and stand

New things after using salt on slug: stick, nut, cup, chair and shovel

oh and scissors

crazy looking dragon in tower but can't figure where to use my items

       Anonymous  8/30/11, 12:12 AM

dankeschön, Anja,
ah, now I understand why slug became little...!

Used shovel to get a mouse and chair to get a stand (?)

Give the offering to the dragon and you're left with the 3 critters.

ahuh white things/balls from house go on top of stand - haven't found those scissors yet

got water with the cup, used it on the little plant, grow to a sunflower and there was a hamster in it, lol.

oh my dragon floated away - left with the three critters - perfect end. Never did find those scissors

@Mystris: last scene to the left you can go in the building.

       Anonymous  8/30/11, 12:15 AM

shovel used in sand for rat (here we go again, lol)!
same view: took chair
castle view: bird pushed cup from tree, take it

       Anonymous  8/30/11, 12:17 AM

cut bamboo with scissors for panda for top of hammer, combine with nose (stick) from tree

Ah eggs (?) are suddenly on my stand - thanks Mystris

Ah thanks premiere now got a hammer

       Anonymous  8/30/11, 12:19 AM

put chair on pillar with stairs, got orange kinda box (?)

Used hammer in last building to the left and now see the dragon Mystris was talking about!

Gave the stand with eggs to the dragon and he is gone.
Perfect end

But what was about the squirrel, hamster and rat/mouse?????

       Anonymous  8/30/11, 12:22 AM

aargh, clicked outside of game screen, another side opened & had to restart...
:-(
wait for meeee!
lol

Exactly, methinks there may be a bug?? Dunno

Either that, or alternate endings? And whattabout the thing at the top of the tree?

       Anonymous  8/30/11, 12:28 AM

caught up again, phew!
hammer hidden stairs in tower, went up & HERE's the dragon!

Hi all..

@Anja: where to use the hammer in the castle?

       Anonymous  8/30/11, 12:30 AM

let critters one by one attack dragon for another end.

       Anonymous  8/30/11, 12:32 AM

END CITATION, lol:
Guys deprived of power in first shaving
dragon's beard off,
driving the sense of direction mad,
and depriving of the gem,
and finally knocked down the dragon
by a blow of the rat.
Though the sword of the legend was
left back
No one pierced on the floor, stuck,
and came off the sword.

Where to use the hammer please?

@ginger: castle very left scene at the right side

       Anonymous  8/30/11, 12:33 AM

hi ginger*,
use hammer in tower/castle right between pillars for hidden stairs

Well done premiere!!!

Ah...thanx guys ;-)

Nice Sakura.
Using critters is normal end and using stand with balls/eggs is perfect end.

GuruOne,
The thing in top of the tree is a cup, you get it by using the bird.

       Anonymous  8/30/11, 12:37 AM

YW, Anja!

btw, didn't know that dragons eat eggs, lol... (will shortly replay for perfect end)

       Anonymous  8/30/11, 12:38 AM

btw,
START CITATION:
The dragon of the legend seems to live
in the tower on ground from here to
the western.
The dragon is not a translation
of especially poor.
What kind of on earth dragon is it?
A certain person seems to have gone
to see the appearance.

Everything clear?
;-D

       Anonymous  8/30/11, 12:40 AM

Ah, look at this - s-t's already awake, too...
;-D
Greetings mijn liever!

Good morning Precious Premiere.

Btw, couldn't find other endings like with the race where you could use the animals in a different order for different endings.
Here you can only give the critters from top to bottom and after you used the first critter you can't use the stand anymore.

Lol Premiere, Are you greeting small-tools liver?

oh..sorry...lol..I didnt notice the 'e' in the word...oops

       Anonymous  8/30/11, 12:50 AM

good to know, s-t

(& *blush* being very flattered...)
8-)
**-D

Lol Clio,
I got a very big liver.

Played again and in fact all you need to take is the saw (to take the stick), the spoon (to take the salt), the chair (to take the stand; to take the eggs), the cutters (to take the bamboo, to take the hammer head).
So you get a normal end by doing a lot of things and a perfect end by doing very few things!?

       Anonymous  8/30/11, 12:52 AM

ROFL, clio,
too early or already too late for you (time zones)?

       Anonymous  8/30/11, 12:54 AM

lol, s-t,
indeed! (both - liver & ends)
;-)

       Anonymous  8/30/11, 1:00 AM

btw - third time is a charm - CITATION:
The dragon rose to the heaven satisfying
it very much because you offered the bun.
A big casket is left.
It is said that there was a terrible treasure
in the casket.

PERFECT END

LOL, premiere! Same posting!

I must say, I miss the old Sakura games, even if they were getting predictable. These make less sense to me than Minoto. (Minoto make sense, what am I saying?!)

       Anonymous  8/30/11, 1:06 AM

no prob PuzzledinCA,
good to know, that I'm not the only one with visionary ideas...
;-D

       Anonymous  8/30/11, 1:10 AM

& lol, PuzzledinCA,
maybe japanese logic depends on the region, where the gamemakers live (when I think of some other japanese games, too)...

       Anonymous  8/30/11, 3:45 AM

too much random clicking for me ; i give up

Man, I'm lost. All I have is the bug and shovel and now I'm stuck. I can't find anything else or do anything. What am I doing wrong? Please help!
Thanx.

       Anonymous  8/30/11, 11:56 AM

barbarosa,
as I remember:
if your bug=green caterpillar, found in grass in front of houses, then give it to bird (go left) & take bird.
if your shovel=the little one from house, it's a saw, use it on «nose» from tree with face (go far left).
navigation arrows left & right on top of screen.

Thank you Prem for your response and help! I'm such an idiot...I didn't see the left arrow above because it was cut off. Looks like the triple latte I had this a.m. clearly didn't work. Thanks again for your help on everything!

       Anonymous  8/30/11, 12:29 PM

YW, barbarosa!
:-D
you'll find your way out, for sure!
(& if possibly not, I'll have a look here for a while, if you have some questions...)

I've always admired by japanese randomness in their stories, at the same time as being completely baffled by them.
This was no exception, and the not-quite-translation is the icing on the cake. =D

no walkthrough?

There is now.

Walkthrough part one:

Scroll up for premiere's copied and pasted intro and endings. =)

The start screen shows a humble village, and if you look carefully you can see a green "Thingy" in the grass, bottom left of the screen. Pick him up, because he will be useful. He's a caterpillar, but the game calls him a bug, haha.

Enter the right hand house [click on the arched doorway.

I will describe what you see. It might help you know what to do without detailed instructions.

On the table on the left, you see an urn, which contains salt.
Next to it is a saw. [I only know this from the game text; it looked for all the world like a spatula to me, after all, this IS a kitchen.]
Get the saw.

On the right is a brick fireplace oven, where a little golden beastie seems quite happy for now. He turns out to be a chipmunk [called a "squirrel" in-game]. I could have sworn he was a frog.
On the top of this oven is a pile of white spheres. [You wanted me to call them balls, didn't you.]
I believe these are a type of bun made with rice flour.

Back out and go left.
Here is a very impressive building with a fountain in the centre of the lawn, and a seedling struggling in the foreground.
Never mind that now - just go left, and get the spoon from among the ruins, in the grass, on the right side of the screen.
[Pause for a moment, to marvel at your impressive arsenal. Dragon, did he say?]
Go left.

More ruins, but a little less, erm, ruined. An exhausted bird [swallow] lies in the grass, upside down [that's how you can tell he's not well], so, knowing swallows eat caterpillars, feed him with yours to perk him up a bit, and he flips over. He can't take off from the ground, so pick him up. [There. He looks pretty good now, eh?].
The orange object on the broken plinth is a "stand" for something, but you can't reach it yet.
Go left.

Woah! Gimungmous Slug! [and no, that isn't a real word.] ["slug" is, though.]

For the purposes of this game, you will have to indulge your cruel side in order to get past him.
[It's cruel, because, even though they have a primitive nervous system, time passes extremely slowly for them, so it's a very protracted death. You can tell they react badly to it because they pick up their little sluggy skirts and make a dash away when you put salt close to them. There. That told YOU!]

Anyway, remember where the salt is? What have you got to hold salt in?
Go all the way right to the kitchen and dip your spoon in that jar, make your way back [saying something respectful in honour of the future dead slug; perhaps hum a nice little dirge] and use the spoonful on the massive white slug.
Not dead! Just very very tiny! [Shrivelled.]

Now that the new left arrow has appeared, go left [stepping carefully over your victim].

You are in a wooded area, and in the trees are a bit of greenery on the left, and a hammer head on the right, with a koala sitting halfway up [probably asleep, knowing koalas].

Go left, into a blue misty wood with a demented-looking tree, frozen in mid-shout.
Get the shovel. It will be in the inventory bottom right, in case you have the window sized to fit the game.

Walkthrough part two:

Use the saw on the "nose", which looks like a pencil, but you soon discover it's a hammer handle.

You need the chestnut [maron] sitting in its big gaping mouth, too.

Go left and grab the chair in the dusty-looking landscape. [Well, that was MY random moment for the day????? A chair?]
There's a hole in the ground, and using the shovel on it will unblock Ratty's doorway [game says "you used scop"]. Pick him up.

Go left to release your bird, who gratefully skims the bowl/cup and knocks it down from the tree. It's for you.

Go left [into the castle] and get the long-handled secateurs/ tree loppers from the floor on the left [I didn't see what the game called them, but every comment is calling them "scissors". You try cutting branches with scissors, then tell me what they are!]. [Later: Game calls them scissors too. My, how those japanese hands are tough!]

Back out, go right three times, and cut the greenage from the left branch. Now, this doesn't look much like eucalyptus, but the koala will eat it anyway, so give it to him.
With a surge of energy, he shimmies up the tree and drops the hammer head, so get it.
Use it on the handle, then go right twice.
While you're passing by, use the chair at the base of the statue plinth, on the steps, and reach up for the orange "stand".
This is a stand for putting an offering [sacrifice] on, so you can leave if you have to, and don't become the "offering" yourself.
Go right twice.

See the seedling? What could you do to encourage it?
With your bowl?
And that fountain in the background?
Okay, use the bowl on the fountain and then water that seedling. [A fountain with Miracle Grow in it, obviously.]

There's a little guy clinging desperately to the middle of the sunflower, so catch him before he falls and you have a pet hamster. =)

What likes chestnuts?
Go back to the kitchen and think there.
Okay, so chipmunk/squirrels love chestnuts, and now you have three pets.
Use the stand on the rice buns and they pile up nicely on the top.

Back out and all the way go left, to the castle.

Now is the time to think which end you want, so while you are noticing the strange invisible-doorway effect on the bricks in the right wall, prepare to use either the pets to battle with your foe, or to offer the rice balls as a nice tasty snack for him.

Okay. Now use the hammer on the odd bricks and smash open the doorway to some stairs.

Here is a dragon, sporting a fine goatee beard, and holding an orb/gem.

NORMAL END:
For the rat ending, use the chipmunk, then the hamster on the dragon and they hurl themselves past his face, thieving the beard and the yellow ball away from him.
Then use your real champion - Ratty.
He knocks the dragon into another dimension with his power, and the legendary sword reappeared. [Did we know it was missing?]

PERFECT END:
Don't use any of the animals; they can be the audience now.
Use the offering of rice buns on the dragon and he will drift up to heaven, happy and with a full tummy. [Helium buns].
He leaves a chest, which contains "a terrible treasure", and which you can't open - but it looks nice =)

premire quotes all three statements [one start and two end], which make more sense than usual in this new game =D

Thank you. Sakura. I loved this one!

Hah, do I sense yet another bunch of folks confusing "terrible" and "terrific"?

(NB In French colloquial speech, "terrible" mostly does mean "great". Go figure.)
