I've found the black, orange, red, green, blue,and white lamps -- still don't know where to use the aladdin clue or how to get the can lid unstuck or what to do with the metal that needs cutting on the hookah -- and stuck!

Can't figure out the red/white block puzzle or find any hints for it... probably inside the stuck lid I can't unstick!

the cross is in white with red all around it. Don't take the cross all the way to the edges.
tried red on white and white on red with no luck... is it two rows up and down and two rows side to side?

@Leroy, make a red border first, then make the cross white (an extra 4 red squares in each corner)

It is 2 rows up and down and 2 rows side to side.

I got the cross to work -- white cross on red, with the white cross not going all the way to the edge -- so there is a red border all the way around

so, you guys are out, but I am still fighting with the candles (or WTH they are).
Colors simply do not work for some reason, neither left to right, nor right to left.
Tough one this time eh?
I like it a little trickier, but please no puzzles like guessing out of the blue that you have to put in a film release year. (Plus, it could have been that Disney was not the first to do that one)

Second color is meant to be yellow.

here was the clue for the white cross on red? Thank you arbeitslooser for candles being the wrong color (2nd candle should be yellow, not green).
The white cross on red is the Switzerland flag. The 4 digit clue is the date the Disney version of Alladin was released in the US.
It would perhaps be more valid, but just as illogical,to be required to know what date the original was translated and published from Persian!

you'll find a pickaxe behind the painting above the sofa.
I have 8 lamps but simply don't know what to do with them to get out??????

There are 3 drawers under the TV. You've got a lamp from the left one... and you haven't checked the right one.
daffyduxxx, you have to put them in the right side of the cabinet (I think it was the one with the tv on it)

I would never have guessed that the number was the year of Disney's Aladdin ! I have read the whole One Thousand and One Nights book, but I don't care about Disney. (-:
