hi, stuck on number code,

got little box - matches? -

hammer (used), brown box (opened with L/R hint),
cloth, used again on wall now "cat-foot prints"

book with plenty number / letters code hints

oh forgot, scissors (used)

now candle and " lonely" but find only a 3-digit number

and also 9 = 0 acc. book tried with 4.49 and 05.5 bruteforcing the other but not working

second number is one, forth number is nine. First and third numbers are the same. It is eight. Casually I found it. But it is also in the book. Not so clear.

Carolina - OK that explains the 1 and 9 but why is L = 8 ??

Story is rather creepy... Detective Hachiro went to investigate a haunted house..

When we broke the mirror, the "ghost" came out and said that there were 3 possible suspects: her sister Anna, her friend Mary and her boyfriend John..

When she was killed, she managed to tear off a piece of cloth (the green cloth) and part of pearl necklace.
Mary was wearing a red dress, so she wasn't the killer, and from the pearl, the killer was the sister.

Turn out the detective is actually John, the boyfriend! And Anna was also in love with John, which is why she killed the sister

L, in small letter, looks like 1, and in the book, it says 1 = 8

In the book, where is written 8=1 ; 1 seems an l(L)
