i forget in which room i have to use googles ?any help

thanks rimic....now is the order for gems alphabetical order of the names?

had to restart, one of my marbles disappeared :( omg lost my marbles lol

nvm found it

Goggles in A -- anyone find a tool to remove door with boards ??

meant *use goggles in A

I have all gems, all coins, and still a boarded up door! Maybe we get the crow bar after opening the gem safe...

did the placecards in AC give the order...if so I can't figure it out!

why crowbar...
ur going in U from Y

cant find yellow gem

i've tried blue,orange,red,yellow,purple,green,pink....but not working.....

Yellow gem is in the water in A...use goggles

does names give order of gems by last names??? just a thought not quite there yet...

You are right, sue...we just need order of gems....

where is blue gem?

Good one Sue!!! Boarded up door must be just to get us running around!!!! LOL SD!!!

I tried colors starting with the orange going clockwise, and starting with the purple going counter-clockwise - nope...

nokra, I'm with you. Tried them alphabetical from the first and the last names, safe won't open.

Danielle, it's in AC, check around on the table

I'm late in joining, but thanks SD! Especially for the wine!

Did the same as @zoe, as well....there has to be a better clue elsewhere! LOL he got us good....lol

Miles, I don't think anyone is out yet, lol. Can't figure out the gem order

also tried alphabetic order of first and last name....but nothing....

Blue gem is in AC - in dish on table...

aaahhhhhhh driving me nuts lol

       Anonymous  5/16/12, 8:28 AM

Any clues on where the keys are? I thought I needed to find the 5th black ball to start finding keys but from the hints it sounds like the last one is behind a locked door. :(

B, G, O, R, Pi, Pu, Y....also does NOT work...lol

I guess we're supposed to drive away in the car in H....

any solutions on the gems order?

Are we on the right track here? the Vivian colour looks like a dark red, not pink or purple. And why is Jimmy bright red? I tried clockwaise starting with red - but no.

woohoo SD! Too bad I probably won't be able to catch up!

mereilin...we are all trying to get the color order for the gem safe...that should give us the Car Key!!!

Clues for all room keys should be in comments!

You guys are too funny! How do you keep up AND still manage to type clues here? Cheers to you all for the help!

       Anonymous  5/16/12, 8:34 AM

All but the gold key that would let me into the rooms where all the other clues say keys are. I wouldn't ask if I could find it in the comments posted.

@myrdlebp, we are all so stuck that we have all the time in the world to type comments....:)

wow have such a headache...what could the order be??

Sorry, mereilin...I don't remember where the gold one is...in some towels maybe?
Anyone remember where the gold key was?

merelin is right - there is no clue to where the gold key is. I don't remember - does anyone remember?

was the gold key in the snail?

Was the gold in a puzzle box?

gold key is from the box with grey balls

       Anonymous  5/16/12, 8:41 AM

That's okay. I shouldn't be spending time here anyway. Have fun, guys.

Wasn't it in the vent in P?

oh ok. sorry.
where's the place for the gems..? probably super obvious..

stupid question? Where do the gems go? - I know order is difficult,
but havent found the safe :D

I have tried clockwise, counter-clockwise, alphabetical by first & last names, alphabetical by color, and in order on rainbow ( that's a stretch, I know).

safe is in K

where´s pink?

Well, I just replayed...the gold key IS in the black ball box!!!!!!!!!

@Selfdefiant could you please give us the clue of the gem order...?

TY LNS missed the pic

Somebody please figure this out.......lolololol

pink gem anyone?

Uh..SD..did you forget to include the gem color hint?...or are you being REALLY sneaky this time? (Or are we really stupid?)

I tried the rainbow, too @philomena...lol...but the pink was a guess...lol

I even tried googling the names and using their birthdates for the order but I cant find all the names~!

this is still live?!

came looking at comments for the gem order but seems no one knows yet

also, the crowbar room is room V, when you go around the top, you only go into room U

so we still have room V to go into

Okay...I have it figured out....he does NOT need to escape....just going to take a small vacation....lolol WHY ESCAPE?????????

WOW, if you go into U from the right room, it's boarded up, but if you go around, you get in ( for the anagram box ).Pretty sneaky, sneaky! lol

There is a gary - click the edge of the orange - i missed him first time.
No wonder he offered us a bottle of wine earlier !!

No Jo-Ann

V = kitchen, with a white cup that hols a black marble

but maybe we MUST open that door, even entering U from Y ???

I fixed the order, I guess I don't know the alphabet! The order should be Purple, Blue, Orange, Yellow, Green, Pink, Red. I mixed up the order and if you don't refresh the order is Purple, Blue, Yellow, Green, Orange, Pink, Red.
Sorry! It is fixed now though! :)

You can get to room V from room N

Oh thanks SD!! LOL! Had us going!

Oh thank you!!!

Thx SD!!! Great game!

Actually, @Jo-Ann...we do get into U from the top...and V from the left...V is a kitchen
We just can't get from V to U...maybe a red herring...maybe we need to do it?

Oh finally out....

Thanks selfdefiant, and ty for all the wine~!

Out with 50 coins!

I think I have tried every possible order for gems. Maybe Sneaky really IS going to stay this time, lol.

oohhhhhh yeyeyeyeyeyey and out!

I have never gotten first place on the leader board...it must be my lucky day!

Thanks SD, I would have never figured it out. great game as usual. :-)

Oh my bad about room V, wrote it down wrong in my notes!

Thanks for fixing the bug SD! great game as always!

what was the clue for the order, please??????

I don't believe it! All that wine and I forgot where I parked the car!!!lol

me too, LNS....I was looking for it's own room, but it is in the first room we started...lolol

final score: 334850 plus sneaky coin which takes 2 min off woooooooo lol

Yay first time playing live!

Thanks SD :)

Nokra - double check, but I think it was alphabetical surnames - so Yang - red - is last and Purple - Fisk is first

@Nokra, gem order clue is last name initial. when both are S then go with first name initial

Caught up but only because of the gem order problem! out like the rest of you! beautiful day here to go for a drive!

ok...it WAS the place cards...but sd had it wrong...lol No wonder we were soooo stuck!

I think we deserve another glass after that! Thanks SD - still loved it.

Welcome, @KikiT..

Mine won't open with either orer of colors...uggh!

where is the hint for color code box in D?

Thank you SD for the game, and fixing the bug. Wow, I've never gotten on the leader board before. :)

colour code in room c

Thank you rimic, but i don't see any color code in C.

I'm guessing the comment about the crowbar in V was untrue? Never did find one!
Refresh didn't fix the gems. I think clearing cache might. Oh well, thanks for adding the correction, SD!

In C color code on glasses on window green, pink, yellow, orange (used in box D)

which the word of the U??

Chel anagram is on map
spoiler

SNEAK

@ chel hint is on map

tks! out!

And - whoosh! - there goes Selfdefiant, on his latest stealth run to deliver an armful of assorted goggles and giggles to entertain and amuse us for the next short but enjoyable part of our lives =D

I can't get either set of colors to work. Help!!

Is anyone still here?

Neither me :S Colour gems code does not work at all.
Greetings everyone!

       Anonymous  5/16/12, 10:46 AM

I reloaded the game but I still can't open the safe (with the order : purple, blue, orange, yellow, green, pink, red).

Colour order doesn't work for me either. Stupid game.

same thing here @Dana @Princess Lily @pdgph

I'll try again later

Same here Selfdefiant...help us, we are trapped and can't get out!!!!!

gems: purple, blue, green, orange, yellow, pink, red

Hello to all :) I'm joining in to say I haven't been able to open safe either. :(

> I fixed the order, I guess I don't know the alphabet! The order should be Purple, Blue, Orange, Yellow, Green, Pink, Red. I mixed up the order and if you don't refresh the order is Purple, Blue, Yellow, Green, Orange, Pink, Red.

Hmmm, I have tried it both ways and it still won't open... refreshed the game... took out all marbles and put them back in... bummer right at the end :/

tygrys: Thank you I have my key now. :D)

me neither

The gem order doesnt wrk for me either

       Anonymous  5/16/12, 11:14 AM

I reloaded once again the game, and the order doesn't work.
@thequeenisdead1975, you are unfair : SelfDefiant's games are great, there is just a mistake in this one. Everyone makes some mistakes, except people who don't do anything.

pdgph attempt to adjust these three colors: green, orange and yellow in this is a bug

sorry for my English :)

the only code that worked for me (even after refreshing) was the one posted by @tygrys above: Purple B G O Y Pink R (thanks @tygrys!)

But seriously, I didn't want to leave this place anyway. The name of this game is spot on: Why Escape?

Thank you @SD!!!

Purple Blue Yellow Green Orange Pink Red - Nope
Purple Blue Orange Yellow Green Pink Red - Nope

That was the clue given by Self Defiant.

Never found the crowbar but got in the room from another direction.

Break is way over so I can't finish. These are the only games I know that are still fun even when you DON'T escape.

POP! Finally out! Thanx SD!

I checked again and somehow it wasn't right. Today is just one of those days! The order should be correct now! Purple, blue, orange, yellow, green, pink, red. Sorry!!!!!

Thanks tygrys i tried everything but your order fr the gems was the only one that worked... Thanks

I tried that order, and some others as well but it will not work for me.

Thanks @Selfdefiant, I've just replayed and everything's fine. So the right order is the alphabetical one you wanted initially, and that you repeated above at 11:50, i.e.:

Pu B O Y G Pi R

for my fellow players, I meant: from now on :-)

I was so fast that I got minus time. So I must have finished before I even started!!

       Anonymous  5/16/12, 1:32 PM

Thank you Tygrys, Zoz, Premiere...!

BTW -- Solution to corrected colors is sort names by last name, first name.

The following vaguely walkthrough-like piece is the true account of one writer's experience...

The Escape of Questionable Necessity

First, I feel compelled to reply to the title of the game: Why not?
Next, I agree that it is indeed a very lovely place. I decide I will ask where it is after successfully leaving so I can plan my next vacation here.
Curses. I forgot my car keys... again... With a sigh, I start to head inside only to realize I've misplaced the house key. Time for an outside search.
I continue down the path to discover more coins and a marble. I take a moment to thank SD for making me so rich with these games.
Moving on... I find a gorgeous seaside view and map. I remember what I did with the key after finding it inside a cute(-ish) stone snail.
Now I can get inside!
Of course, I can only go left from here... I take a moment to make a Doctor Who joke.
Continuing left, I pause for a game of billiards—and lose...
Left again, I find the marble box. Having one marble, I move on.
Next, I enter the kitchen. Though I search and search, I find that the corkscrew is misplaced.
Cheers! I've found a violet gem! I search the drawers and see that SD wisely keeps the screwdriver in the bedside table, where it will be handy in case of emergency. I take down the painting to reveal the gem safe. For now, I'm forced to turn around.
Back in the kitchen, I find another locked door and another, smaller bedroom in which I find another marble.

From the marble box room, I find another bedroom, this one with a number code safe. Without the house number, license plate, or any other clue, I continue on.
Back in the billiard room, my companion challenges me to another game. Not inclined to lose twice, I politely decline. I continue to the next room.
Confusion—I find another kitchen. Shaking myself, I search on to find another marble in a cup on the table. I then realize why this area seems to be used only privately—the next door is boarded up. I assume they must be doing some renovations.
Back in the billiard room, I sadly discover the other door to be locked.
From the next room over, I find another small bedroom. After gathering coins and a marble, I pause to admire the view.
Next I find a large dining room. After I pick up the last marble, I am told that there is enough wine for everyone and to enjoy it. I snag a bottle to take on my trip to France, where I can drink it legally.
I return to open the marble box, receiving a gold key for my efforts.
On my way to the gold key door, I find a green gem in the vent. Then, I unlock the door.
It’s another bedroom. I think it must belong to someone used to going barefoot, as the mirror above the dresser gives the reminder of “ShOES.” I pause to wonder over the capitalization choice. Then I shrug and move on.
In the bathroom, I investigate the drug cabinet—because who doesn’t keep a key in there? I’m right—find the black key. Between here and facing the tub, I find a few more coins.
Upon my return to the bedroom, I accidentally trip and knock over the mirror. Luckily, it doesn’t break. I realize it’s upside down as I place it back on the wall; I discover that “ShOES” now looks like “53045.”
With this epiphany, I run back to the number safe. Upon opening it, I find a red gem.
I remember I have the black key. I return to the first kitchen to open the door.
It’s another small bedroom. I pause for a moment to wonder why the corkscrew is on the bedside table, but decide I don’t want to know. On the desk I find a four color box.
In the attached bathroom, I see four colored candles. On a hunch, I try the colors on the box on the desk. It must be my lucky day—I get an orange gem.
I return to the kitchen to open the sketchy wine bottle. Inside is the blue key. I return to the billiard room to open the door.
I pause for a game of ping pong and redeem myself from my earlier billiard loss by winning an astounding victory. Well, back to work.

The door leads outside. Behind a rock I find a white key. I decide to investigate outside further before opening the door.
POOL! Sadly, because my eyes are sensitive to chlorine, I must find some goggles.
I return to the entry room to unlock the white key door.
It’s yet another bedroom. I decide that I will need to bring many friends on my vacation here. There’s not much of use here, really. Onward.
I pause to admire this next lovely view. Again, I find little of use and move on.
To the left is an outdoor dining area with yet another lovely view. I don’t even find a coin. Disgruntled, I move on.
Another view, but what’s this by the pool below? A sneaky coin!
Moving on, I find my goggles. But, there’s still another room to investigate from here…
Another bedroom with a lovely four-poster bed. There’s a letter box. I realize now that I’ve yet to look at the map. Lo and behold, the clue! After concurring with the statement, I begin to think of an anagram. The first is “snake,” though I’ve seen nothing to make me think of snakes here… I do a face-palm for not thinking of it sooner and enter “sneak” into the box. It opens to reveal a pink gem.
I begin my return to the first pool, but instead stumble upon another outdoor dining area, this tie under an ivy canopy. Investigating the place cards, I realize I met these persons on my way in as they were headed out. I make note of the colors in the order of my meeting them. Now, to the pool!
With the aid of the goggles, I obtain a yellow gem.
I pause, realizing I am missing a blue gem. I look at the map, wondering if I missed a room. No clue to the gem, but I see that I’ve no need to seek out a crowbar… With a sigh, I begin to contemplate my conundrum.
I end up back at the canopied table. I’ve become a bit hungry… I pick up a piece of meat contemplating eating it. To my surprise, I see a blue gem!
I return to the gem safe, placing the gems in the aforementioned order. Someone must really love that car to keep the key in a safe.
I return outside and drive off into the distance, slightly disappointed there is no sunset.

@Layla , that was really fun to read! Thanks for that! A sunset was what I had wanted but had to settle for the winding road heading toward the mountains!

To Layla:
Thank you for taking the trouble to write such a brilliant ambient walkthrough =D =D
Selfdefiant's games deserve one of these every time, I feel, but unless he wins a pet author to work for him I'll just have to wish, haha.
I must admit that I'm not au fait with Doctor Who these days, but I'll find one of my many descendants to enlighten me.
I loved the way you turned the billiards table into a ping-pong arena. It's that strange blue-coloured felt which throws me every time i see it =D
I bet loads of us thought "SNAKE" first, just like you. I know I did =)
One thing I expected you to have noticed was that eerie cherubs painting which haunts us in at least three "rooms" as far as I could see. It is in Q, G, and there's a sidelong glance in X. Somehow they seem scarier than a bloody handprint from any of the abandoned asylums as their eyes follow you suspiciously from area to area. - or is that just me?
By the way, I think the site of the photos is possibly a composite of just really nice images from many places for making a game with, but I'm sure if you bully some builder enough you can have it built?
Anyway, you deserve a gold star for that one. No handful of black marbles for Layla =D =D =D

And thank you Selfdefiant for yet another lovely half-hour or so. =D
I'm so glad you saw Layla's amble-through!

Damned google pop-up ruined the game. Wouldn't quit hovering over the inventory. Couldn't get to anything. Escape24 so tied to google that I am gone. Goodbye Escape24.

Hmm... Well, maybe I'll have to try writing more of them, @Rookwings... ;} Sadly, I actually am going to France for two weeks, so it might take a while...

@Selfdefiant, glad you enjoyed it.^^

nice game except for gem placing

I think, all the houses - escape should be named WHY escape. There's not really any reason to do this... Personally, I want to stay for ever in almost every house of Selfdefiant!!! (Just houses, not asylums yet).

Layla:
I most DEFINITELY think you should continue writing! That was great, and very entertaining! (Love the "answer" to the title "Why Not" - LOL!!!!!)

@Premiere: Great "just the facts" WT for those of us who just want to know Where. The. Darn. Thing. IS!

@Layla: Very entertaining narrative! You mirrored my thoughts exactly - keep them coming.

I think Premier and Layla make a great WT team!

@ Zoe and Zoz--

Thank you kindly. :}

I think I will keep it up once I get back from my trip.

Also, I agree with you, Zoz-- Premiere makes some great to-the-point walkthroughs!

Thanks @SD for another fun game and thanks also to @Layla for that wonderful wt!

where is the purple gem????

Yikes, I deleted the clue on the map so would have never got the letterbox in room U. Thanks for the WT! The word is SPSNEAKOILER

Just going in .

this music is awful. really. i prefer the last one. mute on.
