Alright, so the lines have to do with the shape of the thing. It's kind of hard to describe, but i think the star hint gives the right idea. But what's the ? supposed to be?
I saw them all but didn't help me much!
yeah, I'm not seeing how the star translates into the lines around it, and how that helps us translate the other ones back into shapes... or how to figure out the ? one...
I have a feeling we're gonna need a smarter person to help us with this.
I think I'm on the right track, but a lot doesn't make sense. -_-
star has 10 short strokes, and strokes inside boxes around it add up to 10, but not sure if that's helpful...

Warning: possible spoilers (if i'm right)
I think you have to flip them. And that the lines show how far apart the lines are from the outside. Like, if you drag them straight out. Like if you look at the first one, there's 3 blanks and one with a line. So if you switch the line to the top it's now 3 long lines that don't have any corners and one line at the top that has a single corner, which would be the triangle. The one below it is the same whether you switch it or not so it's symmetrical and it has 6 corners, so it's the hexagon.
I'm still working on the last one and the ?, though.

Out! That number code helped a lot. Never would have gotten it (thought i didn't think it was weird that there was a door for the toilet). XD
@laura: i kind of said it in the last post, but which door seems a little out of place? Remember what i said about flipping the line things? Use that on that sign as well and think like a calculator. ^^

I really wish I could explain it better, but I can't. Just look at each line on the star and notice that it's by a corner if you switch the top with the bottom but leave the sides alone(some go in, some go out).
I'll make a short walkthrough for you guys though. ^^
WALKTHROUGH:
The key to this game is flipping things. I'm gonna try to just give hints, but include spoilers for people who are still having trouble.
1. First, go left or right two screens until you see the panel with the toilet door.
2. Does a door for the toilet seem random, 'cause it should. (This is a good time to remember to flip). If you need a bigger hint, flip the word TOILET upside down and think like a calculator to get the number code.

3.Go left a panel and use the number code on the box. Remember the number order and the shape in the box.
4. Go back to the toilet scene and look at the star shape. If you look at the left and right lines, you'll notice that A) their identical and B) they line up with the corners in the star if you draw a straight line to them. But the top and bottom don't line up with the star.... right? (this is another good time to flip). If that's not clear enough, flip the top and bottom lines and they match up to the star's corners.
5. Now go left or right 2 scenes until you're at the line puzzle. The ? is the shape you got from the number box and the numbers from that box give you the order the shapes appear in the bottom from the grid. So go ahead and put in the shape you know (the 4th one). As for the rest? Just remember to flip the top and bottom. If that doesn't help...
