thanks Creo!

anyone else playing? I'm stuck in the captain's cabin (chapter 3)

mom. have to start the game..

Already stuck at the start, i tried lots of countries but nothing.

stuck at q2

@Zazie: these are not flags from countries.

@Ruit: ever read Edgar Allen Poe?

Stuck at four, how to survive the storm? Tried heave to, lay to, nope.

i cant even get the first one derrrr

No idea Casual :(

yea in dutch so we make it a crow, thx go to 3

Zazie, try to read the flags as letters

@Zazie: there are ways of communication, for example smoke signals or sign language...

@Rudi: a hint for chapter 4? I found the 4 clues and and I understand the parrot (quite funny, lol), but don't know how to combine these hints...

sorry, I meant CHAPTER 3 of course

Casual, try to make a sentence of your findings.

I give up, i really don´t get it.

Casual, and dismiss the parrot, you don't need him.

Zazie, there is a way of communication between ships in form of flags...

survive the storm? Nose in the wind and ride it out?
I don´t know...............at 4

ok, if the parrot is not necessary, does everybody understands the same as I do?

"who's your pretty boy then, huh?"

seems like Captain Blood needed some acknowledgment, lol.

Tried everything, including abandon ship :-), but nope.

Casual, the solution starts with the wooden part...

thanks @Rudi! thought so and next one is probably in the book, but stuck after that.
is the answer a whole sentence or just one word?

Prey, reefing the sails, ...............????

Casual, it's a sentence made from your four clues

thanks @Rudi! up to chapter four now

@ reeds as at

is communications between ships using flags has a specific designation ?

I am stuck on ch 3 now....i only found three hints, parrot says nothing.

deploy anchor, deploy drag anchor, shorten sails, reef sails, heave to, lay to, pray, all nothing. even tried to change the url to our next destination. I guess the answer is hidden in the description somewhere.

E.Addict, look here
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_maritime_signal_flags

@Zazie: one hint on desk, one in book, one on lamp and one on globe

at 4. tricky one

Thx Casual got it, i did not see the desk hint.

For 4 try observing the lightning strokes... They're long and short.

@Lovely: lovely, only a matter of direction :-)

another failure at riddles ! good luck guys!

Five is a breeze...

is 4 about cardinal direction or just left/right?

@Casual: read lovelys post at 5:19, and get a pen...

How many letters you got in 4 ?

I thought 4 is a morse code , no ?

@Zazie, 9 letters all in all, 2 words.

Ohh finally got nr 4, thx Rudi, i had problems where to start lol.

so, is 4 a morse code?

Stuck at 5

Yes Casual.

It says where you have to go...

перископ = russian for the contreption

but nope

it says what is it attached to, but if you give the corect answer, you are not any further.

Any help with 5 ?

contraption can olso be russian for подводная лодка

well i went to cuba ! lol ( was writing the whole word not just the initials ) ! the text is hard to read actually .. is this : what do u name ur ship ?

can I ask for the first letter of chapter 4, please? so I know where I have to start?

First letter is S and it is a verb.

@casual first = S

@E-Addict: yes, that's the question

E-Addict, the name is what do you see in the picture ?

has anyone proposals for question 4 ????

I mean question 5

Apart from the obvious, P.......e and S.......e, no, no idea.

       Anonymous  9/26/12, 6:03 AM

I don't have anything. Can anyone understand what the parrot is saying? Besides who's the pretty boy...

And how does the shark come into play? The directions it is swimming? The direction the contraption is facing?

I translate P to russian but nope, maby old russian?

still stuck with the morse code in chapter 4. there is now way I can see a "s" (three short bolts)

@lovely, you're on five? What's next to the siren? What might she want?

       Anonymous  9/26/12, 6:07 AM

Oh, well that was easy and obvious :) Thanks!

@Casual, there's actually two "s" in the solution...

Casual, first word is what they shall do, second word is the direction (btw first word is not sail)

Where is some Russian ? Did you get level 5 already ? I am still stuck there.

       Anonymous  9/26/12, 6:11 AM

It's not Red october :)

@Zazie, get a pen, watch the lightning, then translate...

I already did the morse code, i am stuck in lvl 5 with the siren.

f***, you know what I did??? I made a screenshot of the lightning bolts and looked tried to find a morse code hidden there...lol

@Zazie, read my post from 6:06

       Anonymous  9/26/12, 6:14 AM

Got it! Russian word for the animal.

hello,
please I have the four clues on level 3, but couldn't make the sentence. I need more hints, if possible.

tks

Casual, not the form of lightning is important, but how they are blinking, short, short, short (=3 dots) means S etc...so the lightning is writing 2 words

@lovely: in cyrillic letters?

Yes Rudi, i saw the cage and i tried bird, raven etc but i don´t get it.

thanks! finally at 5

       Anonymous  9/26/12, 6:18 AM

Nope, write phonetically.

was off for some tuna salad ! :D what's more specific than blackbird ? black crow isnt working !

Lulu, whom should you seek and where ? Combine the 4 hints like this.

@lovely: I have the word in a dictionary, but what ever I write is the wrong answer...

nvmd, got it!

       Anonymous  9/26/12, 6:23 AM

It's ak***
I tried google translate and it worked.

@Zazie, for 5: you can speak

I had the third letter wrong :-)

Casual, but what ? lol

@Zazie, it's abird, but not a raven that pesky little p.....

Now for the name. Initially, initials? But the words are all correct.

Thx Rudi, got it !!

I have the russian word, but don't know how to write it. first 3 letters look obvious, but what could the 4th be?

The parrot's name is an anagram of the initial letters of the six previous correct entries.

       Anonymous  9/26/12, 6:37 AM

Casual, Google translate has an option to write it phonetically.
But it's an L.

Don´t get the russian word right.

thanks @lovelygiraffe! up tp 7 now

i see u r busy guys but can anyone spoil the 4 clues for me ?? i tried them in all orders !!

@E-Addict: 1st is desk, 2nd is lamp, 3rd is book and 4th is globe

anyone help me with chapter 3 please...

oh it was an 'at' and not an '@' ! :D

thanks @casual...

Please help with russian word !!!!
I have to go for a while but be right back.

thanx casual ! was just typing the @ the way it is ! :D

clue for 4 ?

Ive written every variation of seek piggie at pirates cove and no luck

       Anonymous  9/26/12, 6:53 AM

PM - Check pirates cove clue again.

in chapter 7 I counted every fin, musket, cocotnut, hat and banana. tried to make an anagram, but no luck...

@Zazie: look at the different classes of Soviet Submarines

lovelygiraffe, thanks for the help!

staring at lightnings ! :D nothing out of it !

morse code please STORM???

anyone got chapter 7?

@Casual: same here, keep getting different numbers :-(

       Anonymous  9/26/12, 7:11 AM

On 7 just count everything and transform those numbers. You don't need to anagram,they are in correct order. It's a 5 letter word.

googled morse codes ! no results that make sense !

missed one musket somewhere. in chapter 8 now

got number 7! Think beef!

totally lost on 4.

finally got 4...offf...

Any clues on 4

Any clou on the bottle?

@PM: it's in the postings above: get a pen, watch the lightning, count short and long, translate.

met the siren at last :D who said i wanna escape the siren ?? :D

@PM: I think everything has been said about 4. look at Zazie's posts from 5:31 AM & 6:17 AM

@PM go to wikipedia and search for morse code then follow how the lightning goes n transform lights into letters !

any idea about chapter 8?

I am back and made it to 7, thx Rudi for the submarine hint.

HINT sail to the right :p

Off to 8 now.

I mean off to 7, sorry, what do i need ?

at 7 bbq sauce

I've got NO idea what so ever for 8. Tried, cuba, havana, hawaii, peru, mexico, etc etc

@Zazie: count all the provision in the picture. that gives you a word

@Zazie, for 7, strong teeth might help you

10 shark fins, 5 muskets, 18 coconuts,11 hats, 26 bananas is that correct??

I am too completely stuck on 8.

On the parrot's name (7). Am I right in assuming that it is 6 letters made up of the first letters of the previous answers?

@Ruit: 1 banana too many.

for 8, I thought it could be a certain bay? but I can't find an anagram for the remaining capital letters.

and I think if you read the story backwards, it makes more sense...

@RSA: correct

:) sorry, should refresh more than once an hour (sheepish)

@rudi thx, never heard of!!!

Yes RSA, anagram it...

Still don´t get 7, tried steaks, meat, ribs etc...

@Zazie A = 1, B = 2 etc...

Thx finally got it...

@zazie: it's something you could keep aboard for a long time. Ever heard of Pemmikan?

@Zazie: did you count the shark fins, muskets, etc? it gives you a word (or just look at Ruit's post from 7:53 AM)

any hint for 6 pls...

@Sam 1902 russian word for shark... sounds lik a koala

sam1902

The thing with the fin that is swimming around is a A,,,, in russian

stopped at 5 ! not bad for a first riddle ! staying with the siren i suppose ! :D

I think it sounds more like the protagonist from Bram Stoker's famous novel ;-)

thanks @ RSA...:)

@e-addict there's a birdcage and you got a .....

For 8, do we need a translation from English to Pirate?

Did you get 8 already ?

@Casual: van Helsing? ;-)

I have a question, since I'm not a native speaker. what does "sought" exactly mean? is it the past tense from "sough"?

lol @Rudi!

past form of search

Casual

Sought is past tense for to seek or, in plain english it is to have looked for

Still fiddling with 8

@RSA: you're right :)

8 really is a bitch. Nobody with a clou?

LOL click de chest

HELP message in a bottle????

Thanks all.

I wonder why there is still the russian periscope in the back. maybe translate something to russian again?

LOL
Spent ages looking up pirate phrases and still have no clue what the message says for 8

Also stuck with bottle.

first letters of riddle spell ionbtyaw angram?

taking a break - normally gets the brain working

       Anonymous  9/26/12, 8:33 AM

this is getting ridiculous lol

trying "pirateese"... briny, cat, ahoy, , Aft, oooooooh!!!

BTW.... the time here is 5:35 PM. Why is the game time 8:36 AM??
Netherlands

The only thing I can make of this is the cat-o-nine-tails, or "cat", which is the weapon used for flogging. That would take care of the second and third lines. A pirate says "Ahoy" instead of hello, which is the fourth line, not sure about lines 1, 5,6,7,8

       Anonymous  9/26/12, 8:39 AM

game is hosted in california.
thats my guess

going in circles. I even tried "bay of pigs", blood bay, bloody bay, bloody island, ...even equator!

       Anonymous  9/26/12, 8:43 AM

line 5 rum line 6 treasure

@t, thx that must be it..............now for the riddle. it´s a hard one.

For 8 I can figure out Briny, Thong, Cat-o-nine,ahoy, Plunder, aft.

something North Bay, got cayi +grog, loot & sun words...

I have to fetch my daughter, will be back later.
GL all.

Here is a link, maybe someone finds the right word.
http://www.black-bart.co.uk/html/pirate_glossary.html

I was tested yesterday whith a IQ of a 130........, or this riddle is to simple for me or the IQ test failed.......LOL

Okay so:
Sea = Briny
Cord = thong / leash
Nine tales = cat
Hello = ahoy
drink = ? splice the brace ?
loot = swag
back of ship = abaft / aft
sunset = ? over the yard arm ?

loot could be booty too?

grog also was:
arrack
bumboo
rumfustain

I don't even understand anymore what you are doing, lol.

how can these "translations" lead to an answer?

Hi, just joining and trying to catch up on lvl 3...love the theme and graphics!

@Casual: maybe anagram the initials of these translations? But for some of them there are too many possibilities ...

i hoped they might be an anagram... but could be on the wrong track...

Casual

No clue but it does say that if you can talk like a pirate you can find the location. I'm just going google crazy with it in the hopes that something clicks

If anyone gets stuck on 3 like me, try adding spaces, lol, I was used to never adding spaces, maybe I should've read instructions better?

I think, I need some grog as well now ;-)

since premiere is not here now, I'll do the job:
