A Love Story

A Love Story is another riddle based puzzle game created by the CSY team (Clio, small-tool and Yoli) for EG24. A 50 chapter love story which starts quite easily, but will blow your mind by the end :P No fancy riddle stuff; no info in hidden text, source, the exif and/or picture properties. No picture or audio manipulation, etc. Everything you need is there in plain sight on the level. All you need is your brain, perhaps some googling and a lot of help from other players. But please DO NOT POST ANSWERS. Do post lots of subtle, helpful hints though, because we want your fellow players to reach the end as well. Leave no-one behind, so everyone can see how this wicked love story unfolds :) Good luck and have a lot of fun! [Created and subbed by Clio, small-tool and Yoli]

  1. start at left and think about fractions 6/8 of wheel is 3/4 transfer that to the next wheel

    ReplyDelete
  2. Silly me, once again I didn't think to use the number twice. Thanks, small-tool.

    ReplyDelete
  3. @mtatt100: Told you, you were gonna get some dumb questions.............

The first wheel has 10 teeth and moves 6 - how is that 6/8?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Cee Bee,
It doesn't affect the second gear because they are connected with their teeth. So it reamains 6 but only the opposite direction.
The maths come in with the action between the 2nd and 3rd gear because they are not connected with their teeth but with a chain.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Level 16.
I could gradually get to 16 but again lost not to do, I read the clues are few and do not understand, I need help again.
sorry for being so heavy ... thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  6. Hang on Pichi...help is coming!

    ReplyDelete
  7. they are all homonyms just take first letters

    ReplyDelete
  8. Hey is that the one with the funny looking rebusy picture?

    ReplyDelete
  9. pichi, find the words that are "wrong" and take their 1st letters

    ReplyDelete
  10. el imagen es un jeroglífico. Hay 6 palabras ingleses que son homofonos ingleses

    ReplyDelete
  11. Thank you! I hope I look now find, Yoli and new!

Gracias mtatt100 por ayudarme en mi idioma! me pongo a ello

    ReplyDelete
  12. Everyone's gone really quiet.....

My cogs are smoking! I'm adding new words to my dictionary ad nauseum and my 2x4 is at the ready - LOL!!

I need some more help with lvl 42, but don't quite know what to ask for. I think I have the directions sorted out (maybe not - derrr!) and I think I know how the different cogs interact, but I'm still getting letters that don't make a word. Can I cheat and throw in a few wild cards - LOL!!!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Cheat all the way you want Cee Bee.
    We can post and delete.

    ReplyDelete
  14. LOL...LOL!! I think I'm at the point when I don't even know how to cheat!!!

    OK.... let me check directions:

    If I number the cogs
    2 3
    1 4 5

    Are my directions right?
    1. CW
    2. CCW
    3. CCW
    4. CW
    5. CW

    ReplyDelete
  15. Lol, that's no cheating at all (at least not at this point in time)
The directions are correct, but your main problem is how many teeths does cog 3 goes when gog 2 turns 6 teeth.
Figure that out. Some maths is involved there.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I thought 8 - is that right?

    ReplyDelete
  17. And I thought the other 2 would be 8 also 'cos it's teeth - right?

    ReplyDelete
  18. So it all comes down to repositioning and my counting again :)

    ReplyDelete
  19. Lol, yep you have to count a bit, do maths a bit (which you already did correctly, but do it again for the second turn).
Now just pick letters from your first turn and after that letters from your second turn.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Got it!! Thanks S-T.

I haven't even looked at 43 yet ............ are you ready for some more hand-holding??

    ReplyDelete
  21. Hm. not sure about hand holding right now. 2:30 Am here and gonna pass out soon, but 43 is not really difficult. Follow the Bejeweled rules to get an end result and then look at it with the text hint: Now the colours worked beautifully together.
    And you´ll find 3 letters.
After that I´m afraid you´re gonna experience the most difficult level, but the bright side is, when that one is done it´s smooth sailing towards the end.
    Good luck and have fun.

    ReplyDelete
  22. ooooooh! sorry S-T, in all my excitement, I didn't realise what time it was and know there's a time chnage: - Thanks for the hints on 43.

    Sleep well.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I really don't get Level 31 at all. I have drawn the grids. I have the 3C numbers. If 3C becomes 3F does 2B become 2D? I really don't get how I'm supposed follow a path. I guess I need some more explicit hints or explanations.

    ReplyDelete
  24. @lingG: Yes 2B becomes 2D. Once you've converted all the codes the letters will tell you the direction F=forward, D=down etc. the number is the number of steps. Walk the house to get 5 letters.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Oh, and don't forget where you are to start.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Knitting away on 33. I've drawn out a diagram of the knits and purls but not seeing anything. Assuming I have to granmaa at some point but I don't have any letters yet.

    ReplyDelete
  27. 33
Knitting and Purling across a grid
    Like X and O
In this case the 1st, 3rd, & 5th rows are straight across
Just like in real knitting the 2nd and 4th rows are reversed
Fill in yer grid to get an answer

    ReplyDelete
  28. Well, I finally got 31 with a lot of help. What kind of evil mind thinks up this stuff????????

    ReplyDelete
  29. Lol, sorry LinG,
But I'm afraid you ain't seen nothing yet :P

    ReplyDelete
  30. Level 17
he! I found: six dances but all are consonants, unless a vowel. I think they're fine, but I get error ... I am missing? thanks

    ReplyDelete
  31. Level 17,
    Should only be five dances.
No anagram if you go from left, top middle, middle middle, bottom middle, right dance.
The middle middle dance is the vowel.

    ReplyDelete
  32. if I'm wrong to put five, four consonants and a vowel but still gives me the error

    ReplyDelete
  33. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  34. thank you! had a dance wrong

    ReplyDelete
  35. Level 18.
I think it might B ****** and invested by what I read, but no idea how to do, I give many turns but not how. Some hint please. Thank

    ReplyDelete
  36. Yep level 18 is indeed B******
The sections with only dark windows are the dots.
The answer is 3 words. The first word is: the

    ReplyDelete
  37. perfect! Now if I could. Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  38. HI everyone could soneone help how many letters for answer to 29 thanks

    ReplyDelete
  39. Ladysue,
Level 29 is the same trick as on level 23, but now the letters are more apart with every next word.
Anyway, same amount of letters as word pairs and no anagram.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Level 21.
After removing seven letters of sentences, with the remaining do anagram, or with those 7, if not with those I get nothing

    ReplyDelete
  41. Oh no Clio I came tenth? What should I do now with this half a cat I have? I assume she has a dogs piddle end?

    ReplyDelete
  42. CONGRATS !!!! Leroy
tenth isnt good for you ?? LOL

    ReplyDelete
  43. lvl 22 Bedtime, if you can leave me a hint, I saw the capital letters in the text of the image, I found the sentences ... but do not get to do, I do not speak of that trick. Thank you and good night

    ReplyDelete
  44. pichi, if you saw the capitals ,you know what you need to find , then do a simple convertion

    ReplyDelete
  45. Congrats Leroy. Just remember which end to pat and you will be safe (and dry) hehe.

    ReplyDelete
  46. But to uppercase not make any sense, so I should not even find

    ReplyDelete
  47. Pichi,
The uppercase letters in the image text make: year born.
So find the 4 years they are born and use those numbers to make it 8 letters.

    ReplyDelete
  48. ok as usual I do not understand English, but I have a will, thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  49. I see that at least 10 players have finished, maybe more since Leroy's post 2/23/13, 4:51 PM.

Congratulations to all of you on a job well done!!!

Unfortunately, I see that you forgot to "post lots of subtle, helpful hints" and I imagine that it's not just me who's feeling "left behind".

I'm thinking it will be a brutal process for me to continue and ask my gzillion stupid questions. Would it possible for someone to put together a summary of the last group of levels, similar to the one PuzzledinCA did for the first ten, so that the people who are still playing have a chance to finish?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Cee Bee, That is very hard to do and some players may not be ready for that yet. What level do you need first?

    ReplyDelete
  51. Donas, I'm on lvl 43 - I've only had a quick glance at it, and S-T has given me the way to go about it. I think I know what to do except I was puzzled about the 4 brick blocks

I am leary to try and get to lvl 44 as I know it's a corker and looked to see if there were any hints before even venturing there - there's only one and nothing much after that, so that's where my request came from.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Cee Bee, the 4 brick blocks do not move. Make the 3 moves from the level and see what that changes

    ReplyDelete
  53. I'm lost on level 37. I can see an anagram in the title - l*** and I think it applies to a previous level but it so I can't get how to chose anything significant. May I have a push please?

    ReplyDelete
  54. Thanks Donas, I will do that when I get time to play again. I figured the brick blocks didn't move, but thought they must be there for a reason. I'm learning that for the most part everything has a reason in this game.

Thanks for answering my request and my apologies if I was out of line in asking.

    ReplyDelete
  55. LinG The chapter title is a big hint to where you need to go

    ReplyDelete
  56. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Thank you Cawulla. I gave up on that before because I was looking at the wrong "colour".

    ReplyDelete
  58. can someone please,give me a hint on 46 ?

    ReplyDelete
  59. New, for 46, the tracings make letters. Try to visually move them and fold into letters.

    ReplyDelete
  60. thank you Donas , thats what i was trying to do , see letters i mean ,didnt think to move them though

    ReplyDelete
  61. Gone for a couple of days, came back to diagram 33 with rows going opposite directions and still don't see anything. I'm pixel challenged I think.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Me2 You're thought is correct on opposites rows but make sure you are doing the opposite with those letters.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Stuck on level 39. I don't know where to get the numbers. The colours give me nothing and the number of sides only give me a couple. Can someone give me a bigger hint please?

    ReplyDelete
  64. Level 23 - letters. The hints are "between the lines". I have 4 letters "between the lines" and I have no idea how to proceed. Any more hints? what is the relation to the 4N 2D 3A 4H 2S that appears in the narrative.

    ReplyDelete
  65. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Level 23 - Read Yoli's comment on 2/18 06:04 for a good hint. Ignore the 4N 2D 3A 4H 2S for now, I'm sure that will become relevant in a future level. I still can't get level 24, I keep getting rlennlcddieh for the 12 letters, can someone tell me if this is at least close?

    ReplyDelete
  67. a03 - total items total of each colour

    ReplyDelete
  68. TY LinG, I was counting number of letters in each object instead, no wonder I couldn't solve it.

    ReplyDelete
  69. lvl 34...there are not hints anywhr..i know all 8 songs and their singers but stuck after that..

    ReplyDelete
  70. Sonal,
Level 34 is not a Google level.
Notes are letters, do something basic with them and then find your 8 letter word answer.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I still dont get it...have been staring at this level and I have no knowledge about music/notes..I read wiki but still no clue how to even start...

    ReplyDelete
  72. Sonal,
The titles are on a certain height on those bars.
Look up what the name of that note is on that height.
Then do the basic riddle thing with the note names and then go pick letters.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Lvl 44: I've done the initial decoding and think I see a way to divide. I've seen the italicised words, but don't know what to do next, can I have a clue please?

    ReplyDelete
  74. change words in the most basic way then do the math

    ReplyDelete
  75. CeeBee, for 44, what math term does the italicized words remind you of? Be sure to note the white punctuation marks and then do the first math step as indicated

    ReplyDelete
  76. I don't have a clue on level 40. Can someone give me a hint?

    ReplyDelete
  77. LinG, for 40, start by finding a letter from each of the colors on the signs on the right side. Then use these letters to walk the paths on the left. Each path will draw a part for the answer.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Donas, I don't get how to find the letters from the signs on the right.

    ReplyDelete
  79. LinG,
There are hex codes for colours on the right.
You can find them on the web. Here for example:
    http://www.99colors.net/color-names

You're trying to walk a path, so you need directions. That's why the first letters/question marks of those colours are bigger.
Remember on level 31 you had those two letters as well (besides the other 4 you had there).

    ReplyDelete
  80. Lvl 44 - When changing the words, it is a straight conversion eg. ABC = 123 or are the letters added eg ABC = 6?

    ReplyDelete
  81. Cee Bee,
Don't overthink, no hint anywhere telling you to add :P
    123 will do :)

    ReplyDelete
  82. I thought that, but the results looked better the other way - my lists must be wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  83. lvl 31
After trying several ways and read the post, I have no idea what I have to do, the truth or you do not have to look, this is very difficult for me, if maybe I can get help trying. thanks

    ReplyDelete
  84. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  85. Well, I have no previous levels, a bad habit on my part.
So I can not go, anyway really appreciate your help.
Thank you very much, and I see us in another

    ReplyDelete
  86. Well lunch didn't help me progress any further on lvl44 and I don't know what to ask for in the way of help. Given that I don't know where I'm going, it's hard to find the right path :)

Should I have 9 pairs of words to do the math with?

    ReplyDelete
  87. Yes, 9 pairs of words will give you 9 letters to take to granmaa.

The words 'Remind her' together looks very much like one 'maths' word.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Small-Tool,
Thanks. I got the "remind her" hint from Donas's earlier post - at least I think I did. That's why I thought my results looked funny. My 9 pairs must be wrong, but I don't know how determine what pairs with what other than what I've done.

    ReplyDelete
  89. From the code you should get very normal words.
And then do what you said before (not adding but just to numbers).
But are you sure you use the correct maths after that?
    For example:
    13/5 would be C
    and
    13/2 would be A

    ReplyDelete
  90. level 40. Small Tool, I'm still not etting it. I can see the hex but not getting how to use directions on the lines.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Take pen and paper and draw it (like walking a path)
Black is the base line, that's horizontal.
Short left, so a little vertical line.
Longer left, so from that vertical one horizontal again, and that one will be a bit above the black one. etc. etc.
In the end you have 4 outlined letters.

    ReplyDelete
  92. pichi, dont quit !! we ll find a way !!
tell me exactly what you need

    ReplyDelete
  93. After my little victory dance at 'conkering' 44, I am back down to earth with an almighty crash!!!

I've been staring at lvl 45 (lovely picture) for quite sometime - have almost memorized the text and haven't got a clue where to begin. Once again I am looking for help. Oh-um........

    ReplyDelete
  94. Level 45 is about the picture for sure.
Look at the big picture :)

    ReplyDelete
  95. cee bee, read very carefully the text ,it says what you have to do and think ""out" of the window" in another way

    ReplyDelete
  96. Thanks Small Tool, I finally got it through my thick brain. But I still think you are an evil genius! LOL!!

    ReplyDelete
  97. new:
Do not worry, I can not tell you what I need, because that is all, the problem is that I do not understand English and is a bit complicated for me, do not know how I got here, and there will be more in order to really like me riddles.
Thank you very much for your interest, greetings!

    ReplyDelete
  98. i dont speak english either and have many problems playing these "english" games but here there are some very nice friends always willing to help ,so im trying to riddle LOL, you can "take advantage" of us all

    ReplyDelete
  99. I'm impressed with those of you who don't have English as a first language trying to solve these puzzles. I know I could never do this in Germany even though I lived there for three years. English is my first language and I can't figure out most without lots and lots of help!

    ReplyDelete
  100. Still stuck on lvl 19. I've translated to m**** and back again but end up with 8 letters that don't Granmaa into anything!

    ReplyDelete
  101. Gypsy,
    Anagram them in 2 groups.
    It's two 4 letter words.

    ReplyDelete
  102. @Me2: I couldn't agree with you more!! I am in awe of some of the players on this site for a variety of reasons. As you can tell from all my questions I struggle with the simplest of levels - English is my first language and I always thought I was good at puzzles & lateral thinking..........until now!!! Think again CeeBee, I'm not even in 1st grade - LOL!!!

    ReplyDelete
  103. I have tried that too, S-T. Just so I know that I have the letters right, is the first letter "O"?

    ReplyDelete
  104. Thank you Me2 , the truth is i have great friends here !!

    ReplyDelete
  105. Yep Gypsy,
The first letter is an O and that would be the second letter in your answer.

    ReplyDelete
  106. I cannot for the life of me figure out 33. Been stuck here for days. I've drawn out the Ks and Ps with the first, third and fifth row going L-R and the second and fourth rows going R-L. I've reversed it, done it upside down, talked to my knitting expert friend and still nothing. Why am I so pathetic? My knitting friend is now addicted too. Please help us.

    ReplyDelete
  107. @Me2: What I did on 33 was to draw a grid. You have 13 stitches, 5 rows. Imagine what happens when you knit - right side facing you - draw that out x for a knit o for purl - you should see letters.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Row 2 and 4 are reversed indeed. But that's not the only thing happening when you change hands. You're also looking at he backside then, so Purls are Knits and vice versa.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Cee Bee, that's exactly what I did and I don't see any letters. I've got pages covered with grids, I've held them up to a mirror, I've turned them upside down. Are the letters created by the Ks or the Ps? Is it row 1,3,5 R-L and 2-4 L-R or the reverse of that? (And if you're not in first grade, I'm struggling back here in preschool!)

    ReplyDelete
  110. If x is knit and o is purl, the first 3 knits in row 1 will produce 3 x's in columns 11, 12, 13 of your grid. the letters will be created by the knits (or purls on the even rows).

    ReplyDelete
  111. Lvl 46: I have read the earlier comments but am still at a loss........what else is new??? I seem to be saying that at every step..........sorrreeeee!

    Where do I start?

    ReplyDelete
  112. Oh my, knitting friend figured it out, once again hanging my head in shame and wanting to knit a nice noose for fiendish puzzle creators.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Me2 Congratulations! They are indeed fiendish.

    ReplyDelete
  114. @Me2: Don't feel bad!!!! Feel good that you got there!! I have felt so stupid a lot over the past few days, but I'm trying to celebrate my little victories even if I have to be hand-held all the way! :)

    ReplyDelete
  115. Cee Bee you have a subtle clue in the text about how to go. Push what you see in that direction and also notice the tracings that are the same in the pic.

    ReplyDelete
  116. CeeBee, for 46, it helped me to see it by folding in the sides. Also the top three tracings makes a very common word.

    ReplyDelete
  117. @Cawulla: Oh My!!, I see the similar tracings...I have been pulling and pushing in both directions for what seems like hours - t'isn't really that long:)....... I cannot seem to make rhyme nor reason of the tracings - I think I'm supposed to be making letters - is that right?

BTW - Many, many congrats!!! I think you finished first didn't you? (or 2nd) - awesome!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  118. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  119. Oh My! Oh My! Oh My!!!...... now I see I'm supposed to be making words - argghhhhh! I think I can guess the first word, but I still don't see how it's made.........boo hoo!!...... I could be stuck here for a VERY long time.......

    ReplyDelete
  120. OMG!!!! Such excitement - just after my last post I suddenly saw it........ Thank you Cawulla & Donas!!

    ReplyDelete
  121. constantly having to give hints on your own game, pretty much means that it's not very playable..

    ReplyDelete
  122. @Donas - I should have added my personal congrats to you too. From what I gather from the comments, you are the other 1st/2nd finisher............ amazing!!

    ReplyDelete
  123. @Luin - this game is extremely playable. Everything is right there before your eyes. Many of us don't see it without help, hence the many hints.

Try it - You'll love it!!!

    ReplyDelete
  124. Red faced to admit yet another snag. I've got the eight letters on 34 that relate to the notes' positions and granmaaed them into two words and once again come to a screeching halt. If I could just get one darned level without help my self esteem might crawl out of the gutter.

    ReplyDelete
  125. Although I have done the last two SSSG's without any help. I can escape, I just can't riddle.

    ReplyDelete
  126. I am following in Cee Bee 's footsteps on Level 41. I am totally twisted up and I just keep coming up with nonsense.I have seen the previous posts but they are not helping me get down those stairs!

    ReplyDelete
  127. Me2 maybe recheck your letters for granny seems you are doing it right but it is just one word answer

LinG nonsense is what you get b4 you apply the go down ROTten hint

    ReplyDelete
  128. Me2,
The notes aren't the answer (don't go granny with them).
You need the notes alright, but the 8 letters you need for the answer are in the the titles.

    ReplyDelete
  129. Me2,
I wish I could solve a level or two without help too - I managed a couple of the very early ones, so maybe with practice I could at least start some of the more difficult ones..... well I can dream can't I? LOL!!!

So I'm stuck looking for how to begin AGAIN - phew! this is hard work!! :) Lots of fun and very rewarding when I finally see the light, but very humbling to have to seek help all the time.....

Lvl 47: I see the dots, I see the italics and figure both have significance, but WHAT???

    ReplyDelete
  130. 47 one is to be used on the dots and one to pick with

  131. Hi Cee Bee and Me2. Even though my name appears on the riddle, please NEVER feel bad about being stuck on a small-tool or yoli riddle. Im stuck on lvl 20'something, but am not fessing up, because they will make me work my brain. Luin, for me, all of the fun is in making friends by playing together here in comments. And really........who wouldnt want to share a 4 x 2 to wallop small-tool? Sharing and caring....it goes hand in hand with 'good luck and have fun'.....and the 4 x 2 is quite handy too. hahha.

  132. Mtatt100,
Thank-you ........ I really should have seen that without asking!!!!! I'm blushing big-time.

    ReplyDelete
  133. not at all wasn't easy level at all

    ReplyDelete
  134. Thanks for the boost Clio. :)

    ReplyDelete
  135. Oh!, maybe I'm improving a bit then :) I was all over doing what you nudged me to do - just hadn't got the first bit sussed.

BTW I can speak the language on 48, I've been doing it all week LOL!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  136. It is all smooth sailing now CeeBee! YOu will get your reward in a few minutes!!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  137. Yoli,
Thanks for the vote of confidence..... I still have 3 more levels to go though - who knows what mischief I'll get into!! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  138. Ahhhhh, CeeBee..its mischief you want? HAHHAHA. I know just the place. If you look at the top of your page here, you will see on the r/h side a clicky thing called 'chat'. Go there, and you will find mischief aplenty. (Also, yoli may be able to help with very specific questions....i for sure can't)

    ReplyDelete
  139. Well I did 48 all by myself and within a few mins too - told ya I spoke the language LOL!! BUT..... we established a long time ago that I can't add, so how do expect me to do all these sums!! LOL!!

    ReplyDelete
  140. for 49 a certain part of the text is what you need first forget the math for now

    ReplyDelete
  141. Lvl 41 - I'm getting dizzy going up and down the spiral staircase. Thanks to mtatt for clarifying the rotten hint but I still can't seem to get the right orientation of the symbols in order to make something readable.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Just got up and raced straight here. Haven't even looked at 34 again. Cee Bee, you're on 49!?! Congrats (or Gongtats if you follow Ainars)! And small-tool, thanks for all the hints, and Clio, thanks for the moral support - I've been in the background on this site for a few years but this riddle is the first time I've ever posted. I certainly feel welcomed and it's nice to know that 2x4 is available for all to share.

    ReplyDelete
  143. LinG,

Use what you see. Don't walk down the stairs before the first conversion. That's what I did wrong!

    ReplyDelete
  144. Oh, and I got 34 right away this morning (guess that REM sleep and s-t's hint helped). Interestingly the answer was something I had guessed on a previous level.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Oh..CeeBee and Me2, i have to fess up here and now. You DO realise dont you, that i will be fully cheating off you....and expecting full cheating hints, when i decide to make my speedy journey from 20'something to lvl 50. After all, thats what friends are for, arent they?....hahahhhahhaa

    ReplyDelete
  146. Geez!! I just knew that Yoli's pat on the back was a tad premature. I think I know what part of the text I should be using, but I don't see how - will this torture never end???..........

    Me2,
Once again, I think you did what I did, I can guess the level you put the answer to 34 in :)

    Clio,
Fill your boots - use as many hints as you need. Then at least my embarrassment and grovelling will not have been for nought :)

    ReplyDelete
  147. Cee Bee,
Like Mtatt said, forget about the maths in your first step. The first step you have to do is as easy as "level 1"

    ReplyDelete
  148. Question on 35, is the previous level I need to reference one between 12 and 16? For some reason I've lost the ability to go back to those levels because my back and forward buttons take me from 11 straight to 17. I've been avoiding trying to resolve those levels to fill in my notes but if I have to I will.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Me2
Look at the first letters of those 7 groups of letters and you'll see you have to go back more than level 11.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Small-Tool,
I figured I had to pick letters - my dictionary is getting thicker :)

    ReplyDelete
  151. Thanks Cee Bee. I got it! I was trying to make it more twisted than it actually was.

    ReplyDelete
  152. Me2,
Look at Small-Tool's post 2/21/13 3:41pm. It tells you where to go.

    LinG,
Yep I keep overthinking too - it's got me into a lot of trouble - unfortunately I think I'm still doing it LOL!!

    ReplyDelete
  153. Cee Bee,
On 49 you know when you're doing the correct method when you do, because it's not an anagram.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Lvl 49: I am certainly making a meal out of selecting letters (a banquet actually) (: I know the method is staring me in the face - I'm just being dense!!!

AND I have to go..... Boo Hoo! I'll look for my pea brain while I'm away and hopefully bring it back with me.

    ReplyDelete
  155. I'm so proud, I did 36 all my myself.

    ReplyDelete
  156. An excellent level IMHO! :)

    ReplyDelete
  157. stuck on 37..thought i had to pick words from intro using notes but looks like i am doing something wrong...

    ReplyDelete
  158. Sonal,
Right track. Keep the order of the notes from left to right and you'll get a sentence.
First word would be the If from sentence 3.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Still stuck on lvl 23 after reading every hint I can find. Don't understand "read between the lines" or "first thing's first" (and not sure where that came from). Have tried drawing lines, have tried comparing and counting pairs of words (3-3, 3-3, 3-3, 2-2) and have read the hints about lvl 29 because apparently it is the same premise. Still getting nothing. Anyone have another nudge?

    ReplyDelete
  160. Gypsy,
The first letter of the answer is L.
Now look at the first letters of the first two linesand see why.

    ReplyDelete
  161. st thats what i have been trying but not landing up with anything useful...is the last word so?

    ReplyDelete
  162. Sonal,
The last word would be the 9th word (it's the 9th note) from sentence sentence 8 and that's the word: I

    ReplyDelete
  163. Thank you small-tool ,Yoli and clio for the really really great game !! i had so much FUN!!! and liked the puzzles very very much ,although i think i have to learn to work on pics so that i wont need a ruler LOL

    ReplyDelete
  164. Okay when I hit Lvl 42 I thought the end would be in sight but it seems to be getting further away! LOL! I have the first part of the level but having probems with the second. Can I get a push?

    ReplyDelete
  165. let me find a way to say it LOL or find someone who can give a good hint

    ReplyDelete
  166. if you have the CW moves ,think the same way but notice two cogs change places

    ReplyDelete
  167. so the cogs that are connected with the "chain" have a different "relation" between them

    ReplyDelete
  168. LinG, for level 42, the first 2 cogs are easy to get the right letters, but the gear chain changes things after that. If you got the first letters right, just interchange the lobster and skullfish cogs and repeat.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Lvl 49: My first thought was to use the italicised text to select letters. After exhausting many ways, I looked for other avenues, came back the way I came, went round in a few circles and I still haven't found the right method!!!!
I know there's neon sign flashing on my screen that I am not seeing. Can I get yet another hint?

Won't you be glad when I'm finished and not pestering you anymore?? :)

    ReplyDelete
  170. CeeBee, for 49, the first equation represents letters in the first two words. find the letters and do the math

    ReplyDelete
  171. i guess you re addressing to small LOL i had a very hard time on this one too , thought i had tried everything !!i ll say smt a good friend said "there are 18 numbers and 18 words in the italics sentense"

    ReplyDelete
  172. Donas: Thank-you, I knew this journey was going to be brutal - only one more level to go!!

New, I wish I had a friend like yours, then I could have left the brilliant minds on this site at peace, maybe you could introduce me - LOL!!!

    ReplyDelete
  173. you already know them cee bee !!

    ReplyDelete
  174. LinG,
There are a few things very important in level 42.
    - Think what happens with the direction of an other cog when one cog goes a certain direction (because of the teeth).
    - Think very carefully about what happens between cog 2 and cog 3 because they are attached with a chain between their same sized axes. If they would go a whole turn it wouldn't be a problem, but they don't, so some maths is involved there.
    - After the first turn cog 2 and 4 swap places. When you do, place the letter that's in the little window on the other place in the little window as well.
    - The answer is 10 letters.

    ReplyDelete
  175. Apparently, I'm the only one who has trouble with level 36. If I use the American name for the note, I get TQRR for an answer, and if I use the British term for the note, I get CCET. I'm now reduced to thinking of 4 letter Beatle songs >>> HELP!

    ReplyDelete
  176. for 36 use the notes differently , not with letters

    ReplyDelete
  177. the answer is 8 letters

    ReplyDelete
  178. Well I got a little cocky and answered 36 and 37 by myself and crash landed on 38. I've eliminated everything over a certain level. Does it matter that some items are not capitalized? Am I back to a scientific table?

    ReplyDelete
  179. New, hmmmmm.......that makes sense. Now let me have a look at 50........ I'm praying that I don't have any questions, no-one else did - at least not the ones that played here.

    ReplyDelete
  180. Me2, you need this table but not for all of them , notice a specific sentense !!on the pics text

    ReplyDelete
  181. Me2, for 38, be sure to always read the directions on a medicine bottle, and yes that table will help.

    ReplyDelete
  182. Me2: I forgot to congratulate you. Well done on your 2 solo flights!

    ReplyDelete
  183. I thought I had lvl 31 but the 5 letters I got don't make any sense (no vowels for one thing). Do we start from the front door each time? Or continue through for all 5 lines? Also, I keep "running into walls". Does that mean I'm doing it wrong or do I just continue (ie - if the instructions are 2F but there is only one space left, do I end at the bottom of that column on the same floor)?

    ReplyDelete
  184. gypsy, 1st of all you have to look very carefully at the top floor (how the letters are) and try to find how the letters would be in the other floors

    ReplyDelete
  185. Gypsy, for 31, you are starting at the top of the steps, not on A, always continue from where the last set of directions ended. If you are running into walls, something is wrong

    ReplyDelete
  186. Gypsy,
You start in front of room A (not in room A)
And yep after you did 5 steps you end up in a room (pick that letter) and for the next 5 steps you start in that room.
But about 2F. That's just two forward, so it's not going left. Don't walk it like a path, like you're in the house yourself, but keep looking at it as if you're someone looking at a peron walking through that house. So from the door side.

    ReplyDelete
  187. sorry gypsy i hope im not confusing you ,probably i didnt understand your question

    ReplyDelete
  188. Good Grief! It wasn't working because I was starting from inside A, instead of in front of. I had everything else right. Thanks for the help.

    ReplyDelete
  189. Almost 1,000 comments, so new comments will be on a new page

    ReplyDelete
  190. It's the smallest things that trip me up, I read the "more" and eliminated just that. I've got it now so on to 39. Did Cee Bee finish?

    ReplyDelete
  191. Hi helpful people. I need help for lvl 28 the one with the hearts and skulls. Do I assign a letter to each square - skipping one letter - and then considering those that end up on the hearts? Do I do it twice in two different directions? If this is what I am supposed to do - it is not working...Should I go around? up and down? Please tell me if I am on the right track...

    ReplyDelete
  192. Lvl 50: It seems I'm not being allowed to keep a shred of dignity - LOL! Can I have a hint please?

I've done wonders for your comment count S-T!

    ReplyDelete
  193. talron, for 28, yes, try across and down, skipping the letter

    ReplyDelete
  194. Me2, When I finally finish, you'll hear the screams of joy!!........ Not yet still on 50.
