Okay, I found one blue gem, pulled some levers, found a number clue on a pedestal but it doesn't relate to the number wall, at least not the way I tried it. Basically stuck.

Tab key doesn't reveal anything of use, but it works. :(
I'm pretty sure those three shapes over the half-circle grating are a clue to something, but no idea what yet.

Weird. A little buggy, this one. I put the lighter on the dome and it turned into a bomb, and my lighter disappeared. I walked away and came back and the bomb had exploded...
The game is indeed buggy... We can pick up bomb twice.. If u do that be sure u have done everything u can down below because u won'tbe able to go back there

Head Site Monkey spanner: climb ladder to the right of wooden door we opened when we cliked button, go into dark room, go right, go into the light, spanner is behind lever

out now, had to replay the game because of the bomb bug
I made it out but I think I can only rate it a 3 for the bugs. IMO Michael Hibbert's games are usually bug-free, I don't know what happened with this one, but it's not up to par with his other games. :/
I can't find where to use the key - any help?

Walkthrough:
-look under the bench to find Gem 1/7
-go right 3 times and then left once. Pull the lever.
-go right, push the button and go through the door.
-go left pull the lever and note the numbers on the pedestal.
-go right, enter the push the numbered bricks according to what you saw on the pedestal. Then go get gem 2/7 from the pedestal.
-go right and back out of this area and head all the way to the right.
-Count the number of sides on the shapes.
-go back to the number bricks and push 148 to open the sewer entrance.
-go in the sewer and go left and then up the ladder.
-grab gem 3/7, go right, grab the hook, and pull the lever.
-Note the numbers and then head back left and down the ladder.
-go right, up, and up the ladder.
-go right and get the lighter under the rock.
-go left twice. Use the hook on the wall and chain.
-go back to the sewer and go left again and up the ladder.
-go left and pull the right side chain.
-go back to where you used the hook and the wall will be lifted up now.
-go left, pull the lever, and get the brown key from the vase.
-go back in the sewer and head left again.
-go left and open the box with the brown key to get gem 4/7.
-go all the way back to the sewer entrance and head back to the room with the numbered bricks.
-go right and get gem 5/7 and then go back to the bricks.
-pull the lever to clear the bricks and enter 715 that you saw earlier.
-go back out of this area, right and up the ladder.
-go up, right, up, and pull the lever here to drop the ladder down.
-grab the wrench behind the lever and head down the ladder.
-go right and back into the sewer.
-go left, up the ladder, and right to find the bomb.
-go back to the numbered bricks and enter 148 again.
- then go back to the chains and pull the left chain.
-go back to the sewer entrance and head all the way left.
-place the bomb and use the lighter on it.
-go down the hole you made, get the gold key and push the button on the wall.
-go forward twice and use the wrench to get gem 6/7.
-push the button to leave and go right twice and up the ladder.
-go forward and use the gold key to get gem 7/7
-go back to the beginning and use the 7 gems.
-go forward and you're out. :)
The problem with even minor bugs in a game is if there's only one bug, you can't be sure aboutz anything: what you think something will work one way - but it doesn't, then you can't help thinking this is a bug and not a bad idea on your part...

haha, except that the cabinet was empty when I opened it :)

when I opened the cabinet with the key, it was empty but the gem still magically went into my inventory. So if you find an empty cabinet, check your inventory before restarting the game. It's probably there.

I tried to finish this game twice...I am either trapped inside the sewer, or the extra ladder won't appear....doesn't make sense because I followed the WT....too bad, too frustrating to keep trying...WT doesn't explain why you do what, so I;m just stuck. Oh well!

I'm sorry if my walkthrough was confusing. I didn't have very much time to write it so I was a little vague. When you enter the sewer there should be two ladders. One ladder is to the left after going into the sewer and the other one is going straight forward from the entrance of the sewer.
@nokra I finally figured out that you need all 4 levers down to make ladder appear - one can be reset
I just used the lighter as the bomb, as described above - I guess it's a bug, but it got me through the game. Never did find the bomb
