By random clicking I got the SD.
yay, me too! Just click your way thru until all dots show 'green'.
got the spade from 'new senses'
got club from wall.
'new senses' relates to compass.
yes! but what's the clue for the 6-letter code (club) ?
got the spade from 'new senses'
Which wall roberto? (there are 6 walls!)
same wall you get spades.
Roberto, what's the clue?
I need no solution, just a clue on how to get to that 6-letter code...
I need help too....only have the spade.
Numbers om scene where you used SD means coordinates. Use them on letters grid.
*on scene
For club, look at the wall with 31, 82, and so on. Find out the order for that numbers and look at the grid with 64 letters.
Got it - thanks!
Thanks! You might need to "shake" the word a little which you get...
Ah no! Number of books will indicate position of letters.
Wow... That surely ain't a game you just rush through... Been playing for like 20 minutes now, all I managed to do was getting the spade symbol, and obtaining the screwdriver due to some random clicking and getting the idea of the cards-puzzle when one of the red lights unexpectedly turned green.
I have absolutely no idea about the other puzzles though. Had some vague ideas, none worked so far...
What about that letter-number-thing in the new-senses-scene? I could swear it has to do with the cards we put in order for the screwdriver as there 7 combinations and 7 cards. But I can't get an order which makes sense.
Stuck same place as you meritneith. And what about that A with the arrows above and below? What's that telling us?
If anyone needs hints for the NEW SENSES puzzle:
notice how this expression only contains four different letters: N, E, W, and S. Also, notice the image of the compass, and the four letters around the expression, arranged in a nice, compass-like arrangement... Finally, notice how the compass seems to indicate that North is probably "upwards"...
@merit
This is *definitely* related to the playing cards.
We can see 7 fields (note: you can change these values if you haven't figured that out yet ;))
It pops into the eye that four of them start with a LETTER and three of them start with a NUMBER.
And on the playing cards scene, we have J, Q, K, A and 2, 3, 4 letters, so this fits perfectly.
So far so good...but I haven't succeeded in getting ALL four J, Q, K, A letters show up there. Maybe I've missed something important...
For the cards-square puzzle:
You can swap cards in the cube by clicking on one of them and then another - they're gonna swap positions. Swap cards randomly, and you'll notice that sooner or later one of the red lights on the right turns green. It means one of the cards now is on it's place. You can "number" the cards in the cube in your head: the top left card is #1, the top-middle card is #2, top-right card is #3, middle-left card is #5, etc. You can also number the red lights, the top one being #1, the second from the top #2, etc., the bottom light being #9. This "number" of the lights corresponds to the number of the card, so, if #1 light (the top one that is) turns red. it means card #1 (the top-left one that is) is on its place.
This should give you the idea ho to solve that one and get the SD.
bio
arbeitslooser, that's exactly what I tried.
I thought that <- A -> should give an hint for the order but I can't get it. Also those different colours make no sense for me.
The arrows may also indicate that you have to alter letter position by one...(so MICHAEL would get NJDIBFM)
Maybe, but we still need two codes for hearts and diamonds.
However, there is only one J for Jake, it's the second from the bottom.
Perhaps the 2nd digit relates to the 1st digit of the next line? Maybe going up or down one?
e.g. N would be followed on next line by M or O?
Trying many things - not very successfully...
So far i have absolutely no idea what those colored letter-number combos mean. all I noticed is that they alternate between the letter-number and number-letter formats: first is letter-number, the second is number-letter, the third is letter-number again etc...
Also, each one has 7 different combinations and the color sequence is the same for all 7 slots.
The rest is... a mystery to me.
There must be a reason for these different colors.
8 black X- 9 red X- 9 black X= 26 X (alphabet)?
Hmm... Lost
Boy... this is either one ingenious game or an absolutely crazy bad one - hat much is clear to me :D
bio
got it! cards is not the clue for this. there is a color pattern somewhere. thats so obvious that may be overlooked.
OHHHH! That's really mean. So let's look out for that card pattern! Thanks justit!
You aren't talking about this flower pot?
color pattern + altered letters (thanks arbeitslooser!) gave me the heart
Ahhh.. got the spades. I realized that those two-digit numbers around the "bookshelf" should be coordinates for the big grey letter-grid - what i failed to realize up until now was that the number of the "books" beside each coordinate designate the position of the letters that belong to the coordinates.
nice move, game :)
bio
Anyway, you don't need to try DRWX for the diamonds code. ;-)
Colour pattern is R/O of bookshelves? But I've been trying that.
not the flower pot meritneith. there are only 2 colors in this pattern and its on something that we already got a hint of.
Oh hang on. My letters aren't moving anymore - with the bookshelves colours followed. But can't get a word out of the letters showing.
Justit, I hope this color pattern isn't the color order of the rainbow... that always gives m a hard time :(
Nor would I want to have that color pattern on one of the card symbols, since I've already put two of them in!
Otherwise --> time to restart.
Got it!!!
Use the number to the left or right to go up or down the alphabet respectively.
Well done and thanks.
Call me stupid, but there are six hints in that bookshelf and I need seven combos?
Time for a cigarette, maybe that will untwist my brain.
bio and arbeitslooser - the 3 bookshelves are all different but have one thing in common.
after getting the color right, the letters/numbers stop to move. to get the word after that you need to swap letters according to the number thats after or before each given the letter.
Smarties,
would you care to elaborate a bit? TBH I don't really understand your hint...
bio
so the xxxxx is a clue for diamond code. we didnt use it so far.
So confuse hints.....
OK, call me stupid too, but what the three shelves in the bookshelf have in common is the *empty space* between books.
However, that doesn't help me a thing =D
there are 7 books on each shelf. the colors of these 7 books are in the same order on every shelf. thats the color hint you have to use.
Look at the colours of the books on the shelves. The pattern of red and orange is repeated. Repeat it again to the left of 'new senses'.
Smarties,
the bookshelves have several things in common - most notably that all three has 7 books and all three have a 3 orange/4 brown book distribution. Also, all three bookshelves have a brown book as their first books and two orange books as their last two books. Last, but not least, all three shelves have a 4-book length gap (which is logical, of course).
Which of these is gong to help me?
bio
Each shelf has seven books but that doesn't help me.
(Not to mention that all three shelves have the same order of book colors: brown, orange, brown, brown, brown, orange, orange)
FINALLY! Thank you so much. And soooo obvious...
(So, to sum up: the only difference in the shelves is where that 4-book gap is. everything else is the same about them...)
Spoiler:
RORRROO
9 red xxx on the unused hint... 9 cards... and stuck again :p
@bio
It IS obvious. "Read" book colors per shelf from left to right and think of a L/R code ;)
Where's the clue in the game for this?
Sorry bio - was trying to help not hinder!
Finally, thank you! To work that out you have to be either a genius or a maniac.
9 xxx are finaly the nine cards. J is the 10th letter of the alphabet and K is the 11th. so these cards represent the letters in the red positions of xxx.
Stuck again on 4 letter word. Tried NEWS and AJQK - in various orders.
Even tried initials of 'What a Beautiful Day'...
No explanation where did you find the clue to use the pattern from shelf? What do do after that? I have 7 letters but cannot arrange them in a word!
4 letter word for diamonds, 4 numbers on the cards (considering A as number 1). just use the numbers in order and write down the letter that should be in that position on alphabet.
Roberto - there was no clue to use bookshelves (which was mean). See my post at 4.10 for what to do with the letters.
Q will become T.
@roberto
move on the alphabet. e.g. A2 = 2 steps after A = C
OK... got the hint - and now I at last know that I don't like this game anymore. To me it's not logic, but finding out which one of the several possible - and equally plausible and probable - explanations actually work.
So, for me now it's clear: it's a bad game, because it's not about logic. I resembles many of those very early japanese escape games from 5-6 years ago - or even earlier - when most of the times the developer simply assumed that the way his brain works is the way everyone else's brain works - and so had so huge leaps of logic in some of their puzzles that many players found it impossible to even grasp. Here i have the same feeling: I think the developer took it for granted that his sense of "logic" is universal and everyone else is thinking alike.
Well... no. Logic is not a uniform thing, and thankfully there are a lot of game developers who are aware of this and are able to make their games so that the "right" kind of logic is somehow apparent without having to try a bunch of other possible, perfectly logical interpretations of the hints. Take Tesshi, for example: his games are never easy, even getting mighty difficult at times - but the logic in his games is always becoming evident as you go on solving the puzzles and interpreting the hints. Here, the developer just pours a number of puzzles and hints out, like he was giving us 10 padlocks and 10 keys, impossible to know which key opens which padlock until you try - carefully marking each padlock and key so that there is a way to tell the right combination, but you can only discover the secret by chance.
Sorry, I don't think it cuts it for me :(
And I tried another word with four letters which I can't tell but it starts with F...
I didn't expect it to be right but I felt the need to do it. ;-)
Know what you mean meritneith!
me too HAHA...I always tried to test a text adventure game parser back in the days to see how it reacted ;)
In some games I was forcibly thrown out...one game had a "sorry" feature, where you could get back in after typing this apology HEHE...
ditto bio!
Sorry justit - I really don't get your clues. Could you talk it through for a simpleton?
For the 4 letter word
xxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxx
ABCDEFGH-IJKLMNOPQ-RSTUVWXYZ
J K and Q are in position
use the letters of A-2-3-4
must be very dumb today but I really don't get your hint justit
Now this was definitely most fun in the whole game...
Did one of you lovely people make out justit's hint from 4:30 AM? I tried even JUST as I thought only the game developer could solve those codes. Nada.
I could as well try BACH as I love baroque music or RAIN when I look outside. But this is creepy, I agree to bio's opinion.
Well for a moment I had assumed that for the 4-letter word we will need to play that 'shift-the-letter' game again, but no...
ABCD?
SPOILER
22L22I22M22O22
Got it! The red X's represent the letters i to q. Look at the 9 cards. The Ace is in position 4, so using the sequence i to q the 4th letter is L.....
Now, can someonehelp me with the coordinates gris. I cannot get the correct sequence. I understand that the first coordinate is 3,6 based on their being 1 book etc, but when I look up 3,6 I get R, 5,4 is L....where am I going wrong?
3,6 is S and 5,4 is P in the grid
FINALLY...sheesh...
And 3,6 (Column 3, Row 6) is 'S'...
Thanks justit and kernowman - your combined clues make sense now.
That was ill. Justit, we would never got out without you but sorry, how did you get it? Clubs and spades okay but hearts and diamonds weren't logical.
And out!
Thanks guys
thanks for the diamond hint... it's so confusing that even after explanation it's not quite obvious :/
any spoilers for hearts and clubs, please
"For the 4 letter word
xxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxx-xxxxxxxxx
ABCDEFGH-IJKLMNOPQ-RSTUVWXYZ"
you only look at red letters and write it in 3x3 grid, you get:
I - J - K
L - M - N
O - P - Q
from cards:
2 - J - K
A - 3 - X
4 - X - Q
A is 1, so look at letters in position from 1 to 4
Thanks jed!!
I would never have assumed I'd associate that 3x3 grid with the letters too, writing them in in 3 triples! justit never mentioned that ever.
OK, and to understand jed's hint, you must know that in card games (e. g. Rummy) the sequence is
Ace - 2 - 3 - 4
Many people might not be aware of that...
the diamond code activates after you set cards in correct posiotion so it must correspond to it
(It is maybe also useful to imagine the two grids that jed mentioned as two transparent foils which are layered onto each other, assembling themselves to one logical entity!
To get the Heart, input the 7 letters you got from red-orange book pattern from the top shelf. The order is from top to bottom. Then alternately shift the letters up and down the alphabet according to the numbers accompanying each letter.
Example (these are not the actual letter-number combinations):
P3, 5Y, S2, 4H, E0, 6T, S1.
After entering P Y S H E T S, shift P 3 letters up, Y 5 letters down, S 2 letters up, H 4 letters down, E zero letters up, T 6 letters down, S 1 letter up. Which will give you the answer STUDENT (not the actual answer).
caught this one from the random section
thx for creating this game, dev ☺
desperately needed the hints (thx ppl)
