I think I have now tried 7 combinations to no avail...
Tomatoes are top-bottom, left-right.

Take each 'column' at a time from left to right and work down each one.

Yes that was it, you have to use top-down 4 times, not just in one go.

Always remember to click the dialogs so that the story can move on! Otherwise it will cause things to get stuck in the middle...
And what did I do at the end? Pair them off "by force"? ;) Sheesh...

OUT! but no idea how. real language barrier. notes back & forth, just kept trying everything everywhere until things happened.
Would be a good game if you could read the text
basic concept;
get 3 coins, 1 by gate, 1 in alley & one from fish. need to get worm to catch fish.
buy costume, give to rabbit, get invite to get in castle.
exchange several notes between princess and man in library.
go into castle, upstairs. collect items to make potion, give to king. get key open gate and exit
Got as far as getting in the castle but don't see a man in a library, guess you mean cat at desk. No idea what to do and nothing is being exchanged with Princess cat so giving up. Hate these games that don't provide English subtitles.

I have given the King the letter and potion, went back to Wizard, talked to Queen again, back to Wizard who jumped into my inventory...back to Queen who also jumped into inventory...back to King and there was lots of dialogue (??) and I could take the key. Used key in big doors in room and out.
