Pencil is on high shelf by lockers. Use your kitties to make a totem pole. Also, in the front of the bakery is a strange wall. Use middle cat there.

You need an oven mitt. The sticky mess is after you get the flour from the middle cabinet under the "shortcake" box. I've covered the table with the flour but nothing happened and the cats won't do anything.

I've clicked over every pixel in the right-side oven (cb) and can't find the "e". Do I need something to open the boxes?
My kitties aren't much help.
Peggy, look at the lockers. THe one on the far right should be stuck. Click on the cat. The three cats should appear. Select the littlest one and click the locker. He'll kick it open. A red oven mitt is in there.
okay one last try before i go .. did you use the kitties on the wallpaper near the exit door ?
Funny, when you get your step stool and flip it over, as soon as you take the key, it transports you to the bakery storefront. But if you go back into the kitchen, you are locked in.

It was the stuck locker I was missing.
I swear I tried to get my kitties to work on it and they just sat there. I guess I didn't try hard enough.

E is behind the kitten poster over the couch. ONce you have your oven mitt, you'll get the clue for that from the cakes.

I'm not sure if I got the normal or perfect ending, but was anyone able to do anything with the barred window? It would seem like a cat could get through that for something.
For perfect end, open door but don't leave. Go back to the cabinet with the "suspicious" towels and look behind the ones on the left. Grab the keyring and leave.
What a really wonderful game!! - cleverly thought out puzzles and those beautiful kitty pictures as the special treat at the end!

What to do with the scissors? I have used the cats 3 times, I'm missing 3 letters (S, S, T), the only item I have besides the scissors and the letters is a notepad.
I haven't found a key to the middle cabinet under the tree picture either.

you need to spell a word using their colors. And the word's not the one on your notepad. ;)

gmm, have you opened the cupboard with letters? Maybe the scissors were there. The clue for it is in the tree picture. (there's a sneaky red button on the picture frame, bottom right)

O (blue): between boxes in the cupboard next to the oven
R (yellow): top shelf of cake rack (use stool)
S (red): bottom right cookie dish
T (green): top left cookie dish
H (yellow): cake display (open with key)
K (green): cake display (open with key)
C (white): left locker (use hint paper)
E (blue): behind wiggly cat picture (hint on cakes)
A (red) between oven and cupboards (use mop)
Finally got back into the game and now finally out!

Ohh my - got so far in this excellent game with no help, but stuck anyway...
Need the key for the pastry case (rear side).
This must be the blue key you guys mentioned, but it's inside the plant stuff and I have no shovel or anything.
You use the scissors to cut a key off a string. That is inside the pink box with the coloured buttons. Click the buttons in the order of spelling STAR TREK (from the poster in the front shop bakery). Use the colours off the balls to match the letters.

-Just pick up the blue key, no need for shovel. :)
-Key for cake display comes from solving the cookie puzzle. (use cats on weird patch on wallpaper next to the exit door)
-You use scissors to get a key after you have solved the color box next to the holes where the letters go to.
-Notepad is next to the cash register, use pencil on it.
-Flour is indeed in the middle cabinet.
Holy moly I found the notepad next to the cash register. Used the pencil on it and got the shortcake clue.
Now have flour from cupboard, going to use it on the bench

I'm missing the scissors ! According to the comments above, there are in the lower right cupboard with letters... for which I have no clue ! The table is covered with flour, the key is tied to a string and I'm totally stuck.
I'm giving up, this is too difficult.

the clue for the cat pic is in the oven after you get the oven mitt open the oven, pull out the cakes then click above them there are numbers on 4 square cakes each cake corresponds to a corner of the picture

Awesome game. I'll have to seek out the earlier versions. Just hard enough to be fun, and the cats getting involved is a great touch. Thanks to all of the commenters who help needy escapers like me.
