Stuck on slider puzzle assume the coloured rods are a clue

Put rods on xylophone that gives order for slider

There was one on top of the air condition, one in the wine glass, one under the circle carpet and in second room I believe it was in cup of coffee

I don't understand the puppy clue - how does that relate to the 5 digit number underneath it?
