ive made a ladder now stuck with a wooden "club" that i need to do something with before i can use it and a pentagram/star symbol

you need hint from cleaned signpost to adjust rock symbols

Sneaky pole on bottom edge of shed.

shed door clue in tree in the rock puzzle scene.
Tab also works in this game.

Make that 2 sneaky poles on the shed.
Star in circle symbol gets the pick axe, which is used in first scene.

Shovel used in shed.

Plate/bowl goes on shelf in shed, then candle. Light for rock puzzle clue.
Stool under hanging pot (click the stool ON the pot, not under it), then water jug and pointy tool you made for water to clean the sign with.
Use clue on new rock symbols.

Ok, just playing about with what I had; use the star in your inventory on the padlock of the pickaxe. No key needed.

Use pickaxe to move stone in first scene and then you get the 'pointy bit'.
