Have hammer, can't use, knife no idea what for and some kind of blade??

Dazz ley how do you use hammer on barrel? I can't do anything there?
I also can't find the third blue square.
Hammer is not used on the barrel. Hammer is used inside the house with the chisel.
To open the barrel you need the axe (you make yourself from stick and axe head).
Thanks small tool but where do I get a stick??
and where is key for house?
Well, I am getting no where, no shovel, no stick to make axe, no crowbar.
Key for the house was the 3 squares I think. Two just to find and one from a puzzle. I think, sorry from memory.
Yeah, I think this game is messed up, even the Hint posted with it tells me to click a plant right side for square and there is nothing there. Giving up.

get chisel from color box
get cutter from 4# inside the house

get stone from under second tree and use them both on rock first scene.

The hedge trimmers are used on the small tree just right of the house. The middle button/square is right of the storm cellar(?). Press the tab key to find it; it's quite small.
