Good morning, trying to join but very slow loading.
Stuck with four bookmarks and a can opener(?). IIRC the trick to these games is to use the cat, but not doing anything for me except meowing.

OK I was zoomed onto a bookmark, somehow managed to stack the others on it to reveal code for left cabinet, gives magic powder.
Only have 3 bookmarks, pink blue and green. And a hat. Where is the fourth ?
Fourth book mark is in red book. There is more to the books than just numbers.
"Where do I want to go?"- Right now, back to bed. :) But where DO I want to go?

use wand (after getting key from high up) on picture right of red picture for jelly beans and another key

after you put the gem in place (by stacking the cats) the door appears with 3 + 4 on it, as on dice
forgot about the yellow crystal shaped box!!! Now i see door and clue
so I figure a 7 figure maybe?
there seems to be 2 endings, only i got is normal ending LOL.

still have wand active, the key and my original hat (the second one from doing the grid vanished) - will wander around trying to find second ending

Thumbs down for the inability to figure out the fireplace word -- thanks, Kei Kei. I've listened and listened and hear nothing even resembling the sound nyangon. Oh well, totally straightforward/easy with the exception of that.

someone commented above that they got out without the hat and had normal end and I had normal end with the hat.
I can't find any other ending so giving up on it
yes it's normal end, hat or no hat - still have pliers though, there must be sth to do w/ them

Hi, still lurking around - no I never did, and pretty much stopped looking now, I'm tired. Still feel that there must be something, but maybe you have to do it earlier in the game? Dunno, I'm baffled. Good night to you begorogu, good luck!
I usually like these games, but not this one... Too slow, too much idle clicking around, too few puzzles to be entertaining... And, as I see, almost everone got stuck around the same place (fire is green, a hat and a can opener), then a hint came that I don't understand (about "asking the lady") and then everyone was suddenly progressing... Cool.
I got the second end, but it still says normal end. I do not understand how you got the password for the fireplace, makes no sense to me. I wish someone would explain that. The rest of the game was pretty straight forward, not my favorite game in this series, I usually love these games. :/
I hope someone is still here, where is hat? Can't find it, and still can't open 2 middle low cupboards and the higher right
@Urban the hat is inside one of the center cabinets...there is a big 3 x 3 dot grid on the lower right...
Cabinet with the red object inside opens with the key from the bearded guy from upstairs.

@Urban I didn't ... I first did the fireplace part, using the broom, getting the pliers, saying I want to go back to Witchcraft School, and I was back.
The hat has not much to do with the fireplace...it's inside one of the middle cabinets under the shelves jam packed with books.
Oh my gosh how dense I can't even get the colored box open with the book colors. . .anyone still here to help?
Only Japanese version shows the word nyangon for the picture. I think it is a bug for the English version.

And, uh, @LeAnn there is nothing secret about it, so I have no idea how to "help" you here...read all 4 books (make sure also to turn pages) and then enter the numbers per corresponding color. No bells, no whistles...

I never had the first witch's hat :( and both endings are normal. Could not find any other ending.

You got me wrong, man.
I mean she must have been living under a rock when saying "the old days when players worked together so harmonically". Sounds as if this hadn't happened for years to come. And that is just wrong. Especially with the real toughies, Neutral and Gatamari, collaboration has always been excellent between players.
So it's not a "thing of the past".

btw, I'm here every day almost 24/24 but I'm not an EG24 owner, so.....
Note: Managed to track down Choko-chai and she apologized in an almost servile manner that the "keyword" was missing in the English version.
She promised to fix it ASAP, so the later players might not have to deal with the "bug" any more.

Password "bug" is now fixed. It is written in plain view when talking to painted woman ;-)
This was a really delightful game! Apparently I played it after the "bug" to do with nyangon was fixed. In my game, a rather stuffy looking royal person in a portrait gave the hint. And I so enjoy visiting the three real cats at the end!!!

Normal end: unlock door with the key. Happy end: use the dots on the door to open the grid (in cabinet) and get the "sorting hat." (maybe refers to harry potter?)
