To get magnifier, use chair beside the shelf and click

Can anyone give a hint for the number code? I opened the cabinet, but none of the combinations seem to work.

Unknown, you have to make a total of 9.
for instance 1+2=3 ... to make it 9 you need 6.
Then use the numbers you found from left to right.

Yes, on the 3 x 3 square (do NOT call it a magical square, it isn't one) you have to work yourself through the numbers column-wise. Which row they are does not matter.
