Key, tiny, in opening scene on mushroom.
3 pixies are all faint outlines, one in each of the first three scenes. Click to bring them out.
Mangoes go in toe of boot.
Stars are also shadows that you click to bring up. And the game is rapidly losing one star rating to that.
Maple leaves blend into their surroundings.
Ok, this thing just got bigger. When you finally find all 9 stars, a new sequence opens.
Think I need to find a mouse for the cat using the cheese. Looking for a place to use it.
Found it! Inside the tree tunnel.
Remove a star to deactivate portal so you can get to the final scene.
That was interesting. I ended up with the key before creating the door with the butterfly numbers.
Got distracted but very cute I liked it. Once you get all the stars placed and the new scene opens. You can still get to the butterflies by removing the top right star

I've only found one star after playing for an hour. I can't see them anywhere.

where to place the cheese?
I thought I had lost a scene. Very tricky - when you get towards the end and you place all the stars you will get a new "portal" which covers and existing entrance to the last scene (the one with the 8 butterflies in front) . You have to take one of the stars away to get back to the other scene to finish the game. Hope that makes sense.
Cheese is placed in the scene with the door where you put the yellow pentagons.
I'm with Zoe on this one. Found one star...no hot spots for them and no key for second door. What gives?
