Color clue is the clue from the book on the bottom book shelf plus the books on the top book shelf.

Thanks! I found the well-hidden stick and have progressed although I still need a mushroom. Strange game.

Patty, see above. The clue for colors comes from the book on bottom shelf and refers to the colors of books between the two black books above.

Escaped! Last mushroom from small pile of rocks.
