out of ideas for number grid (is it really maths?)...
yes. start with 18-9
If anyone is still around....For 5 colour code have tried the windmills, the ribbons on the windmills, the stars, and various combinations of the fruit, to no avail. And can't get the book hint to work on the grid. Also need clues for 4 numbers and 3 arrows. Probably something glaringly obvious I'm missing (at least that's usually the case!)
had other tasks to do, now came back & realised that it's indeed maths, but substraction & not addition - thx skoot
SOLUTION
start with last column
9 + how much gives 18 (as 9 is bigger than 8)?
=9
then middle column
8 +1 (the 1 from 18) =9
9 + how much gives 17 (as 9 is bigger than 7)?
=8
then left column
5 +1 (the 1 from 17) =6
6 + 3
=9
Ahhhhhhhhhhhh. Book hint combines with the fruit pic for 5 colours :)

arrow hint in book is not for grid, but combo with fruits for the 5 colours
