Turret Wars is another addictive
tower defense game with really nice graphics and sounds developed by Victory Gaming. In this tower defence game, you need to choose one of the maps and set up you defenses. Some maps have natural obstructions which you can use to your advantage. Good luck and have fun!

I found the hardest setting to be somewhat of a challenge. The others were too easy...and that TRI-Laser doohickey is awesome.
ReplyDeleteHow on earth do you get past the "hard" setting?? I'm stumped!
ReplyDeleteUse your turrents not just as defensive items, but as strategic blockades... you can draw out their power by making the enemies go only where you want. Then all you have to do is get the three laser tower built, and some good upgrades air defense turrents... and you are golden.
ReplyDeleteKevin...do you have some sort of cheat that you use to start off with more money or something? I can never kill the creeps fast enough to save up the money to buy the laser towers. i am constantly having to add more to my maze and can never keep up with the influx of creeps in the hard level. can you post a screenshot of what your maze looks like that makes you golden in hard mode?
ReplyDeleteThe secret to this game lies in the Cannon. When up graded, it can kill even the largest fleet of even the flying creeps. The trick is to have two cannons and on Flame thrower in the beginning to help you through the first couple of rounds. The second thing is to make the creeps turn a lot instead of going straight. You will be surprised how fast the money rolls in in order to get the lasers.
ReplyDeleteI've found success, on the cliff map but ignoring the cliff, via constructing what could be described as 'semi-circle wave ripples' from the entry point of the left side of the map.
ReplyDeletePresuming the post doesn't mangle this ascii-graphics attempt too much, and bearing in mind the enemy pathing should be half-squares, optimized to force frequent turns and pack the towers as tight as the maze pathing permits...

The frequent turning slows the champs _considerably_. I use a couple slow towers, which when spaced well catch the enemies from multiple sides. A mix of cannons and air towers for the rest, primarily.
The effective maze pathing gives me the breathing space to get the lasers out in due course.

I had a problem in the begining getting though the hard level. However, I've found that the trick to win easily all levels and all maps:
ReplyDelete1) the enemy is slower when turning therefore you should always use zig zag structure
2) get two fire throwers directly in the beginning. You will be shocked to see how powerful they are.
3) try to reuse your turrets twice: Here is an example that I use to win the Dune level (* is the enemy units path, C is for Canon and F for the Fire Throwlers)

To kills the first Boss wave, you will need to upgrade (one level only) the two Canons that are extensions to the Fs
4) You can rely mainly on Canons and make sure to upgrade to 4 star only (don't use the expensive 5 start -last level- that will slow them)
5) There are 3-4 dangerous waves that you need to be ready for. Wave 14 is the most critical. It is an areal attack. Rely on upgrades and having your defense layout in their path
6) You need to make sure that you can kill the Boss' first wave and save the money that you will be gathering to build your three laser towers. don't spend it on any upgrade. If you can kill the first Boss waves it means that your defenses are good enough to destroy any attack till the first areal attack. The areal attack will start almost at the same time you are building the last laser tower. so keep calm.
7)Missiles launchers may be useful during/after the first areal attack. However, you need to rely mainly on Canons fire power and few missiles launchers.
8) Shock tower may be useful towards the end of the game
This is the updated defense strategy

One way to beat Turret Wars River Map on the Crazy Setting.
ReplyDelete1. Build 3 cannon turrets diagonally NW starting at the insect entrance and ending at the riverbank of the East-West river to the North.
2. Build 2 flame turrets on the northern riverbank opposite the last cannon turret. This should use up almost all your initial credits.
3. Start the game and as you receive credits continue to build cannon turrets eastward along the southern riverbank starting next to the initial cannon turret on the riverbank until you have a continuous line up to the junction with the North-South river. This will channel the insects along the river where they slow down.
4. Build cannon turrets along the northern riverbank.
5. Build 4 AA turrents on the East bank of the N-S river in a direct line between the two bases to stop the first wave of flying insects.
6. Save up remaining credits until the first boss appears (about level 7). When he reaches the NS river the boss should go N to avoid the AA turrets. Build cannon turrets rapidly northwards adjoining the AA turrets all along the bank to prevent the boss going ashore until the Northern edge of the board. The boss will double back along the river and be destroyed.
7. Place cannon turrets South of the AA turrets on the Eastern bank of the N-S river until there is just a small gap left at the Southern edge of the board.
8. Upgrade the cannon turrets along the southern bank of the EW river to level 1.
9. You now should have sufficient defences to save money up for laser turrets just upgrading turrets where absolutely necessary. You may need to develop a second row of cannon turrets behind the first row on the E bank of the NS river. Leave a narrow gap between the rows to channel up any insects that do get this far and expand the maze in almost vertical lines as required.
10. Once you have 300 credits place the lasers SE of your base.
11. Upgrade all the turrets on the S bank of the E-W river to level 4. Don't go to level 5 - this diminishes their rate of fire.
12. Soon the stealth bomber will appear. Before it arrives you should have enough money to build 4 level 4 AA turrets: one in each quadrant of the board. This should be enough to deal with the bomber when it arrives. Some bombs will get through so keep a careful eye and repair holes as soon as they appear.
13. At about wave 34 a very difficult blue boss will appear and shortly afterwards a very powerful wave of flying insects. Your laser turret will not take these out as it will concentrate on the boss. From about wave 22 onwards quickly build a line of level 4 cannon turrets (again don't go to Level 5) to the south of the E-W river in a direct horizontal line between the bases but JUST OUT OF RANGE OF THE E-W RIVER. This will ensure that they concentrate solely on the aircraft when they arrive. Also upgrade all the cannon turrets to the West of your base on the path of the aircraft to level 4. Your laser will be knocking out most of the ground insects while you are doing this. When the flying insects arrive you should be able to knock out nearly all of them with the cannon.
14. The rest is easy. There are no more flying insects so just keep upgrading your defences and keep a watchful eye until you've won.
How are people getting 1M+ scores? I've beaten all three paths on Crazy difficulty, two of them with full headquarters strength, and have never cleared 10k points. I don't think I could win without spending most of my gold, and I'm not sure that if you could somehow win without spending any gold I'd amass $1M. What gives?
ReplyDeleteSPOILER ALERT
ReplyDeleteI am able to win the Crazy level in all three maps. I use only Cannons. The Laser Tower is quite problematic - sometimes it refuses to set up at all; and as soon as a Stealth Bomber takes out even one of the three tower components, you can't rebuild it, and even if you sell the remaining two you can't build a new one. The other kinds of towers are OK, but I've yet to find a scenario in which they were as powerful as Cannons, when properly deployed.
So - with a bit of playing around you can set up a configuration that will let you get through a few rounds while increasing the number of Cannons deployed, creating lanes where the creeps are forced to go. But here's the one big technique that let's me go all the way: set up as soon as possible - and you can do this early on - *two* different lanes for the creeps to march down. They will probably bend and fold back on each other many times, so that the creeps are sandwiched in between Cannons at all times. Make sure you can close off either lane with just one Cannon at its end when you want. Let the creeps march almost to the end of lane 1, then cut them off with that last closing cannon. They will about-face and scurry back toward lane 2 - kind of comical! Before they get to the far end of lane 2, re-sell the Cannon that cut off lane 1 and wait until it is sold off. Then put in a Cannon to close off lane 2. The creeps will again scurry around and head back the other way.
With a bit of effort you can continue this indefinitely, sending the creeps back and forth along the two lanes as they get pounded mercilessly by the Cannons that you make more powerful all the time.
Build both your lanes so that they are under the path of the birds as much as possible. Upgrade the Cannons most strongly that are under the birds, and set down extra Cannons as soon as possible elsewhere under the path of the birds, and upgrade those as soon as possible too.
You also have to watch out for the Stealth Bombers. By a few rounds in you need to be sure that all critical Cannons in your lanes are upgraded at least two levels - so that when the Bomber comes along and knocks them back a level or two they stay in place - other wise your lanes will get breached and the creeps will very quickly escape.
