anyone here to play with?
ReplyDeletehi kkf! I'll give it a try
ReplyDeletehmmm..their idea of tasty-looking and mine are not the same. They have been on the island too long
ReplyDeletelol "eek, a crab!" they're obviously not from the Chesapeake Bay area!
ReplyDeletehi zoz!! Nice to see a live person!
ReplyDeletethe fish looks like a blow-toad to me.
ReplyDeleteI don't know how "live" I am, but I'll try!
I made a slingshot, but can't seem to load it with the rock...
(feels guilty for not liking to eat crab. I blame my parents who were both from out of state)
ReplyDeleteEasy game. I had a bit of a struggle to use the rock with sling shot
@zoz I could finally load it after cutting the bamboo with it. It was a bit touchy to get it to load.
ReplyDeletedoh! finally noticed that the rock had "a sharp edge" and cut the bamboo. Nice to see you again, @kkf, even if for a short time
ReplyDeletebtw, I just tried the cat/bat/orange game again and didn't get anywhere. Maybe you can solve it using Xenon's clue about the arrow keys...
@zoz I played it after his clue. If it was meant to help, it went over my head. Then again, I'm short so that's not hard ;)
ReplyDeletelol @kkf, at least the cat is cute ;o)
ReplyDeleteI electrocuted the poor thing, though
ReplyDeleteWhere the Heck is Cocody Island - Through
ReplyDelete- go right (after clicking on everything and reading the descriptions)
- take the string from the trunk of the palm tree (looks like a bowling ball tree to me, but what do I know?)
- take the "rock that looks really sharp" from the left side of the screen
- move right and pick up the Y-shaped twig
- press Spacebar to view inventory and add string to twig to make a slingshot
- go left twice
- take sharp rock from inventory and use it to cut some bamboo
- move right twice and place the bamboo on the beach
- move left and pick up the rock with a "really sharp point" from beside the little tree
- view inventory and see that you still have one bamboo stick. Add the "sharp pointy rock" to it to make a "powerful spear".
- move right and spear that "really tasty looking fish"
- move left twice and feed the fish to the crab, then take the seaweed
- move right and load the sharp rock into the slingshot in your inventory, then shoot down some leaves from the palm/bowling ball tree
- move right and finish making your raft:
--- use the seaweed to bind the bamboo sticks
--- use the spear to make a mast
--- use the palm tree leaves to make a sail
- click on the raft and sail away!
Sail away, sail away, sail away
ReplyDeleteLet me sail, let me sail
Let the Orinoco Flow
The fabulous duo!!!@zoz and @KKF
ReplyDeleteAlways loved that song...was a big fan of Enya from her beginnings with Clannad...
And again, a case where the comments are superior to the game...lol
@nokra lol I like her, too. :) belated Hi!
ReplyDeleteHi people
ReplyDeleteI was wondering if anyone could give me some constructive feedback on this game.
Cheers

Hi Thom/Daa-Studios,
ReplyDeleteFirst of all thanks for making a game and giving it to us.
In my humble opinion the game is ok, but you want some more feedback I guess.
- Well, personally I don't like it when I can't see my inventory and have to push a key to see it and/or to use things. And (Not important at all) but I like it if the direction arrows are on the sides of the screen instead of at the bottom.
- Some codes to crack in a game makes it more fun and a bit harder.
- Zooming in on things to do things you couldn't do zoomed out are also fun and more challenging.
- Finally; Giving everything a name (or even what to do with something) when you hoover over it with your mouse, makes it too easy. For example; the darker spot on the sand was hint enough to find out that's a good spot to build a raft. And not giving away that you have to tie the bamboo together would make the game harder and in that way more fun.
But anyway it certainly wasn't a bad game. No bugs (and that makes a game already great), logical and good graphics, but like I said; imho it could have been more challenging (and maybe longer).
Anyway, thanks for the game and hope to see more of them in the future.
Hi Thom/Daa Studios: I liked this game! It was very logical, and I like the graphics, too. I don't mind where the arrows are. I think, agreeing with small_tool a little that you might want to have a turn on/off hints option for people who want to play without the comments. But I really think you have a great talent and should definately continue with making games!!
