  1. @Edgar this looks like a great game! And there's even a competition for the last puzzle. Now if I can just figure out how to start, lol...

    ReplyDelete
  2. can someone point me in the right direction for the first one You Are Wrong!

    ReplyDelete
  3. sorry @Robin, I'm no help. I'm going to come back to this one a bit later...

    ReplyDelete
  4. thanks anyways @zoz, i have tried everything i can think of, even anagrams, not sure i am even close to the right answer

    ReplyDelete
  5. yay! I figured it out!! one to the second step!

    ReplyDelete
  6. @Danielle, can you give me a push in the right direction please,

    ReplyDelete
  7. sure, go to the names in the book, then go to google maps and search for that name.. if you did it right it will give you a location..view in street view and it will give you a name..enter that name without spaces and it will bring you to the next part.. that is as far as I am

    ReplyDelete
  8. This is not the right time of the day to play due to work. Here are some starting notes:

    • All the information you need to start is in the book; read it fully.
    • The bookmarks on top take you to the chapters in the book... the 'Diary' chapter has more pages; click on them to go through them.
    • There, you will find 4 puzzles. You don't need to solve them right now since they are not 'stand-alone' puzzles, and they're to be solved until you find the other 'halves' (I think all of them are for the final puzzle with the bank safe).
    • You will also find the clues (photo and map) to get to the first location/envelope.
    • Google Maps (street view), wikipedia and one or two ciphers are needed to make it through the game.

Right now I'm a bit lost somewhere in the world looking for the 6th envelope. Hope to get the most help I can. This is a hard game, but very logical, challenging and absorbing. Good luck to everyone interested.

...and one more thing. I don't have a printer at home, so I've been saving the .pdf files in my USB stick to print them later on. My advise for the ones in the same situation is to do that as well.

    ReplyDelete
  9. @ Danielle .. what name did you use?

    ReplyDelete
  10. can you tell me if the part i got after the first location is still part of the first puzzle?

    ReplyDelete
  11. google the first name michel Roethel.. it will give you a location with a similar name.. google maps that name

    ReplyDelete
  12. @Enjoy, identify the photo. The location you need is not that, but the place where the green arrow points. Use google maps street view to go there and enter the name of the place in the bar to "go inside" and to get the first envelope.

@Danielle, in that first envelope there's 2 papers. The bigger one is one part (out of 9) of a jigsaw. The other one is the puzzle to solve to find the second location.

    ReplyDelete
  13. ok thanks, thats what I thought but I and having an issue with the numbers..do the colors have anything to do with the order or is it more of a placement thing...

    ReplyDelete
  14. ok.. still plodding along..

I went to the street view and in that location is Micael Roethel... which is a jules verne library. am I on the right track? entering everything around that location but no luck

    ReplyDelete
  15. yes but you need to enter it exactly what you see on the building but with no space or no capitals

    ReplyDelete
  16. @Danielle, the colors are for you to figure out an order only.

@EnJoy, enter it in French, just as it is on the real location... and no spaces, of course.

    ReplyDelete
  17. thanks...I thought I had it but it didnt work!

    ReplyDelete

  19. should only be 3 words L J V

    ReplyDelete
  20. OMG... that was the first thing I tried an hour ago.. I misspelled it! left out an "I"

    ReplyDelete
  21. so stuck on number 2... I am not sure what I am doing wrong... lol

    ReplyDelete
  22. @Danielle, what do you have?

    ReplyDelete
  23. I gave up an hour ago.. way over my head!

    ReplyDelete
  24. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Did you enter the numbers?

    ReplyDelete
  26. I didnt even think of doing that!! duh!!!! lol

    ReplyDelete
  27. Have to go now. Will be back a couple of hours later. Good luck with the hunt!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Stuck with the numbers. Anyone?
    Oh, and HI!!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  29. @mgkanda of course I am stuck with the numbers. Don't even know where to start!

    ReplyDelete
  30. The only thing I can think of is to put them in order by color but, that dark four is throwing me off, and the yellows and greens and, I guess all of it.
Do we start with the dark 4?

    ReplyDelete
  31. @Enjoy Happy to be stuck with you. :)
Let's get out of this mess!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Getting a little tired of being told "You are wrong". :s

    ReplyDelete
  33. you need to put the numbers in order. color doesnt matter it just helps you see them better. start with the one on top and then go to the one on the bottom.. once you get the 14 numbers in the right order enter it...

    ReplyDelete
  34. @Danielle THANK YOU!!! And, ouch! This looks hard.

    ReplyDelete
  35. the number starts with a 0 and the last number is the 5, there are 14 numbers total

    ReplyDelete
  36. I did it in paint. I just copied the photo and pasted it. then I picked a number and started, if it was above a number I place it before, it was behind I placed it after. I also colored the text so I knew what numbers I did. It was easier to start with the last number 5 and work my way up

    ReplyDelete
  37. 5 tries with the numbers.. all wrong

    ReplyDelete
  38. @ Danielle.. are they stacked one on top of each other then?

    ReplyDelete
  39. yes... they are stacked..i will give you another hint. the last 4 numbers are 3965

    ReplyDelete
  40. just so no one thinks I completely ignoring them, I am going to be leaving in about 30 minutes to get my dd at school and then off to run errands, dinner and then dance.. wont be home until 8!

    ReplyDelete
  41. @Enjoy got it yet? Need help on 3. Who knew? lol

    ReplyDelete
  42. @Danielle Thanks. Noted. :)

    ReplyDelete
  43. @Enjoy I didn't see anything in description about spoilers so if you want one for 2 let me know. :)

    ReplyDelete
  44. I am stuck on Augusta 3...any ideas?

    ReplyDelete
  45. Not really. I google mapped Phillip Barlow and Augusta GA came up. A medical campus. Maybe just a coincidence?

    ReplyDelete
  46. Yes, I am stuck.. been working on this for a few hours now.. help Mgkanda

    ReplyDelete
  47. LOL! NVM! Totally forgot that it had already saved my Augusta 3 search and just added the name to it. Oh well. Sorry. :s

    ReplyDelete
  48. enjoy do you have an email address? I dont want to post the full answer here...

    ReplyDelete
  49. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  50. @Danielle Woops. :s

@Enjoy Let me know once you've put it in and I'll delete it.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Not sure if it was on the right track, but I googled augusta 3 and did come up with Jerusalem, was thinking it was possible because the said worth the walk" I also came up with Augusta Victoria hospital in Jerusalem..none of it worked though!

    ReplyDelete
  52. I dont care if you put the answer but I didnt want to be the one to do it..lol

    ReplyDelete
  53. thanks... doing it now ..Ok done thanks I was off by three numbers

    ReplyDelete
  54. maybe the numbers are a phone number somewhere with an augusta 3 nearby?

    ReplyDelete
  55. @Enjoy Oh good! Now you can help us on Augusta 3.

@Danielle Well, what's been consistent is the medical. If I google map Phillip Barlow I get Wayne State University in Detroit. There is an Augusta MI but, that would be quite the walk. Don't know what the 3 is so, perhaps you're closer.

    ReplyDelete
  56. well, immediately when I heard Augusta 3 it made me think of the golf course in Georgia. Walking=golf?

    ReplyDelete
  57. Tried googling Augusta III and got ceiling fans. CLEARLY a dead end lol.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Ooh...you know, GA's is probably the most well known Augusta so, you could be onto something.

    ReplyDelete
  59. For Augusta 3,

You've got an address by dialing a phone number. The number includes an international and an area code. Use that to know what city Augusta 3 belongs to.

    ReplyDelete
  60. tried the Augusta National Golf Course and that didnt work..

    ReplyDelete
  61. @Adrienne You were right!
    Thanks @Edgar!!!

    ReplyDelete
  62. okay, so I think I know where I am now according to the int'l dialing code, but it won't take it.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Darn! Gotta' go for a bit. Be back in about a half hour.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Is the international code 44?

    ReplyDelete
  65. once you put the city and address together you should find a business name...

    ReplyDelete
  66. Ok..

    44 international code for UK
    121 area code for Birmingham...

    ReplyDelete
  67. Code is 0044 (or +44), it belongs to the UK.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I got 0044 too and I got Norther Ireland/UK and Augusta 3 led to me to a town...I think. All I have are houses though. No businesses.

    ReplyDelete
  69. 3 Augusta street in Birmingham England is JP Jewellers..

    ReplyDelete
  70. okay, so birmingham right?

    ReplyDelete
  71. You don't really need to go to street level. Just enter the address in the search bar and Google Maps will give you what business is there... and yes @EnJoy, it's a jewelry, but not the correct name.

    ReplyDelete
  72. When I put 3 Augusta St. Birmingham England I don't get a jeweller. What am I doing wrong?

    ReplyDelete
  73. on street view it says "Anchor"

    ReplyDelete
  74. @Edgar Oh good. That makes me feel better. I've been up and down Augusta in the street view and seen many jewellers now

    ReplyDelete
  75. I got the name but it is not going in! ugh

    ReplyDelete
  76. Got it

    SPOILERtiffanysdiamondsSPOILER

    ReplyDelete
  77. @ Edgar am I going to have to manipulate the image in the next one? If so, I don't know how to do it on a MAC!

    ReplyDelete
  78. @Enjoy I got the same! However, this is the jewellery qtr. so if you cruise toward the intersection you'll see a lot. One really notable one.

    ReplyDelete
  79. For anybody looking for the order of the colored numbers it's ................spoiler

    00441212083965

    spoiler

    ReplyDelete
  80. It looks stretched and sideways.

Also, we need more people to join this game's FB page so that we might find help when others aren't playing. Am I right that the last level won't even be up until 1-30 of next year?

    ReplyDelete
  81. @EnJoy, you need to read the stretched message in the note, so yes, image manipulation might be better... unless you can take a screenshot of it, print it and read it by leaning the paper in front of your eyes... kind of.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Now, this second envelope is the one Philip Barlow had for you. It includes the second part of the jigsaw and the hint for the next location.
Don't forget to print (or at least to save) all the parts of the puzzles to be used eventually in the game.

    ReplyDelete
  83. ok.. I got it. but don't know where to put it. Do I google map this too?

    ReplyDelete
  84. Trying to manipulate this picture and have stretched it vertically and squished it horizontally and can almost get something if I tilt my head.

    Am I on the right track? I think I see a D.

    ReplyDelete
  85. anyone need a spoiler for the stretch image?

    ReplyDelete
  86. SPOILERdominusilluminatiomeaSPOILER

not positive that this is the stretch word. if so, do we put it in for the answer?

    ReplyDelete
  87. got it! onto the next level :)

    who needs help?

    ReplyDelete
  88. Me EnJoy! I got it at the same time, I think. Not taking it for me. Am I putting in the stretch word or the place for which it is the motto?

    ReplyDelete
  89. ok.. see the spoiler above. google my post at 12:47 or do you want the answer?

    ReplyDelete
  90. what do you think the next one is?

    ReplyDelete
  91. Thanks EnJoy. I messed with it and came to share my discovery and you had it at the same time lol. It took me a while to put the right thing in though.
    Thoughts on this one?

    ReplyDelete
  92. lol...there we go thinking the same thing again.
I'm looking at the diary page with those pieces on it right now and totally boggled. Also I clicked on a puzzle piece and it opened a pdf of the pieces. I wonder if that's necessary to use?

    ReplyDelete
  93. This third envelope from Elizabeth Baker contains 3 things:
    - Part 3/9 of the jigsaw.
    - Part 2/2 of the Puzzle #1
    - Hint for the next location.

Use pigpen cipher (the one in Purple Hell is better I think) for this code.

    ReplyDelete
  94. nope.. On purple hell looking for riddle help/code solvers

    ReplyDelete
  95. Oh thanks Edgar.. I was on the right track, didn't refresh.. working on code now

    ReplyDelete
  96. Okay, what I got looks like complete gibberish lol.

    ReplyDelete
  97. @ Edgar.. not making any words. Can you push me in the right direction?

    ReplyDelete
  98. I've tried in all 3 pigpens on PH and can't make anything out. Copied and pasted into google and nada. Copied and pasted into answer bar and nada. What am I doing wrong I wonder?

    ReplyDelete
  99. Wait...are we supposed to take what we get from pigpen (which one?) and use another cipher?

    ReplyDelete
  100. I got it! the translation at least!

    ReplyDelete
  101. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  102. The pigpen cipher gives you an address (the first line is a number, the second line is a street, and the third line is a city). find the business at that address and put it into the answer box.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Bam.. onto the next. Tell me if you want help Mkganda

    ReplyDelete
  104. How the heck did you get it? LOL. YES HELP ME PLEASE!!! You saw what I got. Nada

    ReplyDelete
  105. @mgkanda, use pigpen2

you should get a number (in roman numerals), a street and a city.

    ReplyDelete
  106. it is an address. If you use the pigpen 2 cypher you will find a street and address. the address has to be converted from roman numerals

@ Edgar. Is the tallest a person or a place?

    ReplyDelete
  107. Thanks Edgar! Pigpen 2. got the #.

    ReplyDelete
  108. @EnJoy, it's a building... welcome to NYC!

    ReplyDelete
  109. And thank you to EnJoy too! :)

    ReplyDelete
  110. that is what I thought. Am I suppose to take the street that is just west of the building? or go directly west?

    ReplyDelete
  111. Right @EnJoy, and the circle hint.

    ReplyDelete
  112. Oh, sorry, didnt get what you were asking. Take the street to the west, NOT DIRECTLY to the west.

    ReplyDelete
  113. oh.. i am finally stuck. Do I take Lexington or Park?

    ReplyDelete
  114. am I right to go west on 33rd or 34th?

    ReplyDelete
  115. @Enjoy, get the right building first. Check the paper's date.
Have to go for a while now and will be back later.

    ReplyDelete
  116. @mgkanda.. I am going to need help on this one. I was thinking Lincoln tunnel????

    ReplyDelete
  117. Aha! The date! I was on a building that wasn't built until 1931.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Mgkanda.. are you at the Chrysler building?

    ReplyDelete
  119. got to run be back later.. mgkanda if you get it.. please do a spoiler for me :)

    ReplyDelete
  120. I was at the Woolworth building, but I think it's actually 40 Wall St. It was the tallest after April in 1930

    ReplyDelete
  121. Okay, I will. :)

It may also be the Chrysler building. Apparently it was a good year for skyscrapers.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Oops, not Chrysler. The paper says May 27 and Chrysler was completed on the 28th.

    ReplyDelete
  123. @mgkanda, it IS Chrysler.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Ooh..It IS? Well, that explains why I still haven't gotten it. LOL!! According to what I found, Chrysler wasn't finished until May 28th and the paper said 27th. Okay, starting anew at the Chrysler building.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  126. Oh guys, you lost me.... You are too good!
    Not getting the illuminate thing!!

    ReplyDelete
  127. @testite It's the motto of a university. If you copy and paste Dominus illuminatio mea into google you'll get the wiki for the right place.

    ReplyDelete
  128. I'm back thanks for the spoiler mgkanda.. can't play right now, but will check in later!

We are a good team (with Edgar pushing us along)!

    ReplyDelete
  129. @EnJoy Agreed!
"See" you in a bit! I may turn in soon, though.

    ReplyDelete
  130. @mgkanda, you are almost the place where I'm stuck in. Only this puzzle left.

What we've got from Ralph Dalmagro is another piece of the jigsaw, the second part of Puzzle #3 and the puzzle/hint for the next location.
I was able to solve it after a very long while... got an address and a city, but for the life of me, I just can't get the right answer to move on! I've tried so many things now :(

    ReplyDelete
  131. I have nooooooo idea what to do now

    ReplyDelete
  132. @Edgar Really??? I'm hoping I can make it there before it's time to let go for the night.

Is the one I'm on a really obvious code that a more experienced riddler would know right away? Just asking b/c I've never heard of half the ciphers and things you all know. Learned a lot here.

    ReplyDelete
  133. No ciphers or decoder needed here. Only good observation I think (even when it took a while to see the way it was supposed to be solved)

Here's a starting hint for you: The 14 lines below suggests the hidden message is a 14-characters long one.

    ReplyDelete
  134. Uh oh...we should go through and delete all spoilers we've posted. It doesn't say it in our description, but on the FB page they asked for no posting answers in public b/c it's a competition. My bad

    ReplyDelete
  135. Thanks Edgar! I'm giving it a go.

    ReplyDelete
  136. hypnotized by my pc screen lol...still trying :)

    ReplyDelete
  137. Well, I'm giving you another hint and it might be more than enough.

"P-4-O" means there are 4 characters between the P and the O.

    ReplyDelete
  138. I get that, but still struggling.

    ReplyDelete
  139. @mgkanda... I still don't have time to do this now. Have to take my daughter to soccer practice.

Will try to catch up with you and Edgar a bit later.. this one looks really tough. P-4-0 ???

    ReplyDelete
  140. Oooooh!!! POPOPOPOPOPOPOPOPOP!!!!!!!!1

Ha! Got the 6th envelope!! :D

    ReplyDelete
  141. Thnx mgkanda, but I tried that (now it's the university) and whatever I put in "Your wrong"

    ReplyDelete
  142. care to share your expertise edgar? lol

    ReplyDelete
  143. edgar on the p-4-o, is that 10 seperate words for the address? are we supposed to be using one of the game pages to solve it?

    ReplyDelete
  144. Had to take an important phone call and now look what happened! Did everyone pass me? Can someone give me one more nudge on this p-4-o clue?

    ReplyDelete
  145. @Robin, no pages from the book. Just the letters/numbers in the code.

    ReplyDelete
  146. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  147. @testite let me know when you've got it and I'll delete that.

    ReplyDelete
  148. im stuck with you mgkanda,

    ReplyDelete
  149. Okay, Edgar, is it in English? I'm so not seeing it. It's about bed time but I can't go to bed not knowing.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Oh good, Robin. I'm not all alone :)

    ReplyDelete
  151. for the life of me i can't think of any 6 letter word starting with p and ending with o...

    ReplyDelete
  152. can't stay for the moment, Will be back!

    ReplyDelete
  153. potato
    presto
    pronto
    poncho
    pseudo
    psycho
    pueblo

    ReplyDelete
  154. The letters should go on the lines below.

    - The crossed A means there should be no A in between the O's.
    - There are two O's [Ox2] and 2 I's [Ix2] (but one of the O's is actually a zero.
    - There's also a number 3 in the message, two characters to the right of an I [I-2-3]

    ReplyDelete
  155. and some more obscure ones like

Paramo: A high, bleak plateau or district, with stunted trees, and cold, damp atmosphere, as in the Andes, in South America.
peludo: Argentine armadillo with six movable bands and hairy underparts
pernio: inflammation of the hands and feet caused by exposure to cold and moisture

None of which seem to help...at all.

    ReplyDelete
  156. is it a word by itself or do the following g-e go with it? i am not seeing it myself, not sure if it is supposed to be 10 different words

    ReplyDelete
  157. mgkanda got it, thank you.

I must have made a spelling mistake... I did try that before.

    ReplyDelete
  158. I'm leaving now. Work again. Will be checking every now and then.

    ReplyDelete
  159. so far ive been googling 6 letter words starting with p. hoping i can find something lol. i found a paramo...?

    ReplyDelete
  160. So does it even start with p? Or are these clues all mixed up like a logic problem.

    ReplyDelete
  161. Would it mean that the Ix2 refers to the other 2 I's in the clue (I-2-I)? THAT would be helpful.

    ReplyDelete
  162. I am so trying to understand @edgars hint.. but..... no go..

    ReplyDelete
  163. lol @rockercfun I found that one too. I also found peludo which is a hairy Argentinian armadillo. Didn't help me.

    ReplyDelete
  164. It doesn't start with a P, but the letters/numbers ARE in order. I mean, the P 4 characters to the left of an O [P-4-O]; the G and the E are together [G-E]; there's a G to the left of the V, but we don't know how many characters away [V-?-G]

    ReplyDelete
  165. wait! does he mean the missing letters need to go on the lines below?! or the whole word?

    ReplyDelete
  166. You should end up with an address (street and #) and a city.

    ReplyDelete
  167. I think I'm finally understanding. It's a sort of process of elimination? There is a p____o, there is a g and an e. There are 2 O's and no A's should go between them. There is an S and an N, etc... So if we can determine what letters/#s are in it we can simply follow the instructions on placement.

If I'm even looking at this right, @Edgar, let me know b/c I'm going to waste a lot of time if I'm not. lol

    ReplyDelete
  168. Okay, if one of our Os is a zero then we have a start because there are 3 spaces between the zero and the letter 0. In an address (a lot of the time) that would mean zero---O as the # would precede the st. name right?

    ReplyDelete
  169. Oooh! I'm getting there I think! I have 14 and am working on placement now! I love a breakthrough!

    ReplyDelete
  170. sounds like logic to me... but he said it didnt start with a p?

  171. but if this is in uk the 3 augusta st birmingham... the number is before the street.. same in the u.s. too isnt it?

    ReplyDelete
  172. I think our # is 30 but, with no A's in between zero and O there is no way to make that work b/c you need at least 3 spaces between them.
That would mean that the zero and the O would have to go between the 2nd and the 3rd A right? Only way not to have A's between them.

    ReplyDelete
  173. @rockercfun That's what I was thinking, but how can that work?

    ReplyDelete
  174. So we have for our 14:
    numbers 3 and 0
    P O G AAA II E V S N

Is that what you have @rocker?

    ReplyDelete
  175. what if i-2-3 is the code to the house number? because the 3 is bigger than the other numbers means something right?

    ReplyDelete
  176. Our A's take up 12 letters alone, but it still can't start with a number because it would have a zero and then an A would HAVE to come between them. think think think

    ReplyDelete
  177. @rockercfun YES! And Edgar said that one of our Os is zero. So there is really only 1 letter O making 30 or 03 our number, right?

    ReplyDelete
  178. Nice! You just confirmed that the number can't be first because the I comes before the 3! Getting somewhere finally!

    ReplyDelete
  179. following along.. completely clueless

    ReplyDelete
  180. yea a little slower but altogether it looks like yours lol
    P O G AAA II E V S N
    and 3 and 0
if we have an E we can make seven lol
one of the I's is 2 away from the 3 so I__3, V____G etc...

    ReplyDelete
  181. Hi EnJoy! So are we so join on in! :D

    ReplyDelete
  182. remember that V has to go somewhere before the G

    ReplyDelete
  183. Okay, these O's are so throwing me off.
According to the A's clue it has to be either
    A---A------A--
    -A---A------A-
    --A---A------A

The O's can't have and A between them but have to have at least 3 spaces between them meaning they almost HAVE to go between A1 and A2 right?

    ReplyDelete
  184. Well not necessarily @enjoy.. i think the v-g means that the V has to come somewhere before the GE at the top... I think....
    P O V GE S N II AAA and 3 and 0
i think is how it will come out in the order.....

    ReplyDelete
  185. @EnJoy No. The G-E and the V-?-G are referring to the same G to narrow down where it goes in the address. It just means that V is somewhere to the left of G and E is to the right of it.

    ReplyDelete
  186. ok.. i am going to work on some unscrambling. Didn't Edgar say it was an address?

  187. Did anyone notice that you can click on the page behind the note and that you get a new page filled with numbers?
Trying to help but can't follow the deciphering.

    ReplyDelete
  188. Hi everyone! Just started. Not really started 'cause I still don't know how to start this game.

    ReplyDelete
  189. Hi Ruff,
Read the book (remember you can click the pages and not only the tabs sticking out above).
Google the first name and you're off.... with some help of the comments made on this page.

    ReplyDelete
  190. Am I overthinking this O/zero/A's conundrum or is that the key?

    ReplyDelete
  191. Maybe we will need the page with all of the numbers on it to put the puzzle pieces on it. So we get a number for the safe at the end????

    ReplyDelete
  192. @Ruff. you see the text box at the bottom of the diary? kinda like googles toolbar? well thats where you put your answers in and then click go. You need to use google and some brain power it seems to get the answers so you can move on. the first one go to google maps and type in the first name... you'll see the name of a place in street view. type it in as you see it without spaces, caps or punctuations..theres lots of clues up to to help too :)
