Hey everyone! This is the first game I've ever made! It was inspired by Gamershood (where did they go? I missed their games)
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy it and let me know what you think!
Blue, white and yellow keys found lying around. Clue on stove, micro and deerstand? Can't find where to use them though. Also seems to be something under couch cushion.

ReplyDeleteDid you find the key safe under the picture? Where do we need the SD?
ReplyDeleteGreen key under mantle, secured, need cutters
ReplyDeleteClick on lock after inserting key for puzzles
ReplyDeleteRed key on top of shelves behind sofa. Need SD.
ReplyDeleteWell that solved the tools requirement! Thanks, Joh Kay and Gizmo.
ReplyDeleteEasy out after finding the tools.
ReplyDeleteThank you and congratulations Daniel Allen. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Please keep making them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the red key, must have clicked that bookshelf 1000 times :)
ReplyDeleteThanks clio_rose! I'm glad you enjoyed the game and I'll keep making them.
ReplyDeleteThat was great Daniel! Tyvm! Well done!
ReplyDeleteThanks larue. It was a lot of work and I'm glad people are enjoying playing.
ReplyDeleteIt was good, only thing I suggest is that you make the key spots still clickable after the puzzles are done, I couldn't remember which keys I had done and what I was still looking for. I miss games hood too.
ReplyDeleteThanks Evan, wow that's a really good point and I will definitely keep that in mind for future game.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind words tribble and glad you enjoyed the game! I'll do my best to keep my games fun and logical and not just some tedious and random pixel hunt.
Yellow Key? can't see it anywhere.
ReplyDeleteDaniel Allen,it was a great game,hope to see many more,thank you !
ReplyDeleteThank you Daniel - brilliant first effort! Great in any case - I really enjoyed the graphics and the crisp style of your game. I like the number input too - clear and precise. I'm looking forward to seeing more of these.
ReplyDeletewhat is hint for pink drawer (word)?
ReplyDeleteLook at the fridge Ipi.
ReplyDeleteipi look at the fridge in kitchen
ReplyDeleteGreat game, Daniel! Thank you!!
ReplyDeletePlease keep them coming - very nice game
ReplyDeleteGreat game Daniel. Finished without walktrough (except hint about colored puzzles, couldn't find them) and knife stay on screen. Finished for 11 min.
ReplyDeleteMust just be me but I cant find any tools lol
ReplyDelete@pinemanred - put colored keys in the safe and then click keyhole.
ReplyDeleteFor a first game that was really good, and enjoyable.
ReplyDeleteI certainly hope you do some more.
Thanks

ReplyDeleteDaniel Allen: thank you so much. I always liked the gamershood games. This one is your first and you nailed it! You already read Evans comment about solved puzzles. That was my point too. Putting in the word took me ages, but that's my fault. Doing it too fast and then clicked beyond the letters. Had to do the alphabet all over again. LOL
ReplyDeleteIf possible I give it * * * * * * :)
Thank you so much and YES i want more.
Thank, a very nice game!
ReplyDeleteVery nice game. Please do some more.
ReplyDeleteGreat game! Thanks
ReplyDeleteWow, great game. Refreshing and very stylish. Pleasant music too, All in all well thought through..
ReplyDeleteVery nice, beautiful game Daniel! Brought back some great Gamershood memories :) Thanks! Just out of curiosity, are you more of a programmer, or more of a graphical designer?
ReplyDeleteDaniel Allen - that was a GREAT game! Totally enjoyed it. Hope you make more - and soon!!
ReplyDeleteWow! Great homage to Gamershood. I miss those games too. Took me forever to find the blue key. It's on the floor in the kitchen by the bottom drawer.
ReplyDeleteVery nice game, Daniel, especially if it is your first one.
ReplyDeleteMaybe you could place items a little out of the gaming area ?
Keep on giving us some others ;-)
Nice game, and a great first effort! I enjoy the harder games, but I also enjoy these, and miss the Gamershood games. One suggestion -- stick in a slightly harder puzzle for at least one of them -- doesn't need to be horribly difficult, but just something to make it last a little bit longer ;)
ReplyDeleteneed help solving white puzzle
ReplyDeleteReally nice game...agree, missing Gameshood... I am having difficulty with the height puzzle...I am using the deer smallest in 3rd position, next largest in 4th, next largest in 1st, then, second and finally the largest in the 5th position... but the puzzle is not being solved... I am missing something, but what?
ReplyDeletethe deers have numbers on them
ReplyDeleteok just saw the numbers on the deer...
ReplyDelete@Leisha Simms, It is a Sudoku puzzle: you need to make each box of 4 contain numbers 1 through 4 without repeating the same numbers in the vertical and horizontal lines...
ReplyDeleteNicely done Daniel, a non buggy and logical game. Congratulations and thank you!
ReplyDeleteOUT! Great Game!

ReplyDelete@Daniel, thank you so much for a great game! I hope to see more from you here.
ReplyDeleteVery good game! Like the graphics! and very logical!
ReplyDeleteMy deers have two number 2's?
ReplyDeleteAnyone still here? Deer aren't working an the deer are numbered one thru 4 with two 2's. Any help?

ReplyDeleteSOX : it's to red puzzle
ReplyDelete@sox: click the columns of the puzzle, the number of times shown below the deer...

Woaw Daniel. You did a really nice job ! Nice design and in the spirit of much missed Gamershood. Hope it was not your first and last game ;-)
ReplyDeletethanks for this game , another, another :)
ReplyDeleteReally nice, but I could barely read the numbers under the deer, even after zooming in several times. I had to brute force a couple of numbers to finish. Still VERY nice game, graphics, sound FXs not annoying. Could see the resemblance to old Gamershood games. Glad to have the style back.
ReplyDeleteI can't find out - where to use the screwdriver :(
ReplyDelete@le-minga : screwdriver is to be used on top of the cupboard. You can unscrew a key here.
ReplyDeleteThank you Daniel! I have always enjoyed Gamershood games also. You did a great job...keep them coming!!
ReplyDeleteYannoche - thanks!!
ReplyDeleteNice game - thank you Daniel!
ReplyDeleteI had trouble with the red/ black dials. I had it right three times and would not give me tools. Keptentering the same thing and finally it worked. I am in firefox.
ReplyDeleteBetter than the gamershood in many ways.
ReplyDeleteNot bad. I was baffled at first when I couldn't find all 6 keys to the safe at once, then I saw that this was based on a GamersHood game I was out in no time. Played similar to GamersHood, sneaky on the green key.
ReplyDeleteGreat first game. Some bugs for me, though. I didn't need any of the tools, in fact I had all of the colored keys before I got the tools by clicking above the hot spots. If there were screws or wires to cut or anything, I never saw them. Thanks--make more :)
ReplyDeleteReplayed to see how it was supposed to be. If you click on the inventory area, all keys show up!
ReplyDeleteNot at all bad - especially for a first one.
ReplyDeleteGamershood's influence is clear - but, since it's intentional and admitted, i see no problem with it. The graphics is nice, too.
Good job, let's see your next one!
gail,
ReplyDeleteyou're right about the bug! Clicking on the empty inventory bar does, indeed bring out the keys!
bio
Fantastic for a first attempt, as OP's have said hope you produce many more. Top marks
ReplyDelete@Daniel Allen what a beautiful game! I enjoyed it very much. I am looking forward to more of your games. I hope you keep making them.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the great feedback and encouraging words! I took
ReplyDeletedown some great notes that I will apply to my future games.
And I believe I've fixed the issues of clicking in the black area across the top and getting the keys. It's weird because I uploaded the game to kongregate, but it looks like EG24 brought it over to their site and it added the black bars that you can click on to get the keys. Here's an updated version of the game: http://game198552.konggames.com/gamez/0019/8551/live/index.html
Thanks again!
This game doesn't load when I try to play it. All I get is a black frame
ReplyDeleteNice game Daniel Allen. Keep up the good work.
ReplyDeleteI'd echo the comments that it's a nice game, ESPECIALLY for a first effort.
ReplyDeleteOne suggestion I'd make is, when entering letter codes, please provide up and down arrows. Granted, these were quick to iterate from letter to letter, but in some games, when the movement it slow, it can be frustrating if you accidentally click past the letter you want and have to go through the entire alphabet again.
Loved the game! I just didn't realize I had to click on the locks after inserting the keys. (That was a little confusing for my pea-brain.)
ReplyDeleteI know I'm late as I've been busy the last two days but I want to thank you very much, Daniel! When I first saw that key shadow behind the sofa cushion I sighed thinking about the good old Gamershood days, then I used a key for a sudoku and thought they were back under a new name. Then I was stuck, needed a hint, and saw your comment.
ReplyDeleteThat game was as good as any Gamershood (and I really liked them). Thank you very much for your effort, congratulations for your "prototype" and keep them running! You may call me greedy but I wouldn't mind at all if they were published every Monday and Thursday too... ;-)
Same here Peggy. Even though I had exactly the same problem with my first Gamershood game!
ReplyDeleteWell done gamemaker! I've been missing Gamershood too.
I liked this game although I had to struggle to find the keys and read the walkthrough to get the idea :) Well done!
ReplyDeleteThanks Daniel Allen,
ReplyDeleteYour game is a chartbreaker !!
I miss Gamershood, too. Thanks for taking us back to the "good old days". Loved the graphics and it was a lot of fun! Thank you, Daniel.

ReplyDeleteReally nice game Daniel, Congrats!!! - I miss Gameshood too, they were my favourite actually - and thanks John Kay for writing: "Click on lock after inserting key" I was getting lost not finding where to use the hints...
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous game
ReplyDeleteI too have missed those games and what a fantastic first attempt
Loved it Thank you
Great Job, but the blue key solution would not work unless i did it in the exact order of the walkthrough. it was a little frustrating.
