    ReplyDelete
  11. The doll's name is "Dready"

    ReplyDelete
  15. this is bad, teddy stole my green key and now I'm locked, any idea where he's hiding the stuff?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Use crowbar in room M to get the red key.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I'm stuck in a loop. Dready appears, but I don't go anywhere else but the scenes where I can buy things...and I don't have enough orbs to buy the crystal.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I had a SD, but it got stolen.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I'm exactly in the same place, zoe. maybe wait till dready comes back and moves us

    ReplyDelete
  20. When you know by the short name that this is a SD Asylum, you have played too many of these! ;) Catching up...

    ReplyDelete
  21. How many ways can Selfdefiant (mis)spell "asylum?"

    ReplyDelete
  22. Seriously, there's a warning on this one? How scary is the teddy bear?

    ReplyDelete
  23. Ok I will restart and not take any items until I can afford the thing to keep teddy away

    ReplyDelete
  24. I cant get the clue from room B to work in C ?

    ReplyDelete
  25. If you buy the amulet at the store, it stops Dready from appearing.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Tried every combo but the right one! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  27. I have the magic amulet, Zoe, but I keep getting the teddy and redirected :(
    Also lost screwwdriver and crystal.
And in fact gonna give up, this is no fun :(

    ReplyDelete
  28. Well, that's not true what I just said. I bought the amulet, but Dready still appeared...getting frustrated with being brought back each time...

    ReplyDelete
  29. It looks like Dready steals the item on the left (not counting purchases). I'm putting the crystals there and moving keys to the right.

    ReplyDelete
  30. That's is it for me, Tired of that bear.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Me too, small....I can't imagine why SD would want to make this so frustrating? Something's wrong. I lost the screwdriver and crystal too.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Lost items randomly respawn in various rooms, guys.

    ReplyDelete
  33. FYI - don't know if this has been mentioned above (try not to read) but the bear doesn't steal whatever you are holding in your hand.

    ReplyDelete
  34. uzi2011 has the right idea - save up enough orbs then buy the amulet first

    ReplyDelete
  35. getting tired of being sent back to that stone wall

    ReplyDelete
  36. Thought the amulet prevented the bear from appearing - he's not stealing my stuff now but keeps sending me back to the same old room

    ReplyDelete
  37. N.I.L.
    blue-green-red
    what number- color?

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yeah, me too, Janet. I'm not losing any more stuff, but still don't have the SD that is needed, and am still being taken back to the stone wall...I'm surprised at this. It's like it's a timed game, which I don't like at all.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Flip the clipboard over. T=15.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I haven't found the silver key in any of the rooms, even with the flashlight. Do I have to restart?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Actually, I haven't found any of the stolen items.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I can only recommend to restart, once you have map and amulet and all items it's actually quite fun. having problems with letter box though

    ReplyDelete
  43. I think the silver key is in number box

    ReplyDelete
  44. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  45. nr box in c, use hint next door

    ReplyDelete
  46. Ooops - right side - not left

    ReplyDelete
  47. Okay - timed it every 2 minutes I get sent back to the stone wall - outta here until SD decides to take mercy on us and change the timing. Sorry Zoe - did get the SD - dipped if I remember where. It was on the right side of the room on a ledge (I think) @ halfway up

    ReplyDelete
  48. ...and I think the sd was in E to the right but not sure

    ReplyDelete
  49. Yes, I did get the SD where you describe, Janaet, but Dready stole it, and now it's not there any more.

I am quitting now. First time ever doing this in an SD game.

    :-(

    ReplyDelete
  50. All right, I'll restart once. Now that I have all the clues for the pre-silver key rooms, I may be able to do it in time.

    ReplyDelete
  51. An even better strategy is just to grab orbs and buy the amulet before doing anything else. I think someone already said that.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Ok, I get the problem now. You START the game on the other side of the silver door. As soon as the bear sends you back, get the number code off the pipes, use it on the box, and open the door. I think you can't get stuck after that, just annoyed.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Then go on an orb frenzy and buy the amulet. Don't pick up any tools or solve puzzles.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Too frustrating! I quit

    ReplyDelete
  55. I can't read the number hint in B - too dark - any hints?

    ReplyDelete
  56. And, nope. I got stuck behind the green key door. I don't remember where that key was, and I have a lot to do today. Done.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Hang on… While I was typing that, I jumped again! To other side of green door. Maybe the secret is to stay in the first jump room until it sends you somewhere else.

    ReplyDelete
  58. blooby, there's a flashlight.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Unbelievable! First time in a LONG while I've ever been in on a "live" game and it's one like this! I agree with some others here, too frustrating to continue.
I assumed that once I had the amulet, Dready would leave me alone, but NO.
OK, I have to have the amulet, in hand, and click on him with it, but NO.
    Amulet does nothing for me!
Can't imagine what SD is thinking unless it's to frustrate us on purpose.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Has anyone found the clue for BGR clocks (circles) in AC?

    ReplyDelete
  61. Or, I could stop being an idiot and use the crowbar to get the green key.

    ReplyDelete
  62. There's a clipboard with three colored letters. Flip the board over for the key to the puzzle.

    ReplyDelete
  63. With the amulet you don't loose the items anymore. I don't know how to beat that teddy in AP (the cross doesn't help) and where to use the knife

    ReplyDelete
  64. Crystals used in U. Need 6 of them.

    ReplyDelete
  65. hint for letter box in I? can't find an anagram

    ReplyDelete
  66. Thanks Lurker S. Dready never sent me to the place to get the flashlight!

    ReplyDelete
  67. letter box spoiler

    SPROIULBENER

    ReplyDelete
  68. It's in the chapel, bottom left corner. Sorry, I'm not taking the time to get room letters.

    ReplyDelete
  69. where to find purple key ?

    ReplyDelete
  70. I've already lost a crowbar and a flashlight. Is the game playable ?!

    ReplyDelete
  71. Well, I found out that if you're zoomed into a puzzle, you get to finish it and take the prize. You're just stuck in the cave when you go back.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I've lost also a screwdriver before being able to use it...

    ReplyDelete
  73. Someone said the objects reappear in random rooms. If you've lost the silver key, you have to start over if it's not in a lower room. I did.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Oh, and you can't get out of the default room without the crowbar.

    ReplyDelete
  75. Go back to 10:46. So far, the strategy I used is working, and I just bought the travel crystal!!!

    ReplyDelete
  76. You need the flashlight to find the purple key.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Use the hammer to smash the doll's head for the gold key.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I started over and collected enough orbs to get the magic amulet before picking up anything. I now have a charged cross and have to defeat the bear but don't know how or where to do so.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Missing 1 crystal and don't know where to use the knife or cross.

    ReplyDelete
  80. The Bear is in AP. How did you charge your cross?

    ReplyDelete
  81. Mighty1 - The cross is used after you have all the crystals place in U. Where did you find the knife? I don't remember having or using a knife.

    ReplyDelete
  82. Hm, need place to use knife, 5-letter clue, and 4# clue. I think the last has to do with Gary's X-ray.

    ReplyDelete
  83. The knife is in a drawer in AM.

    ReplyDelete
  84. I'm not sure but I thought I got it from the 4 colored box.

    ReplyDelete
  85. 4# clue is from Gary's xray - just use the number without zeros

    ReplyDelete
  86. Also looking for the 4 digit code for AM.

    ReplyDelete
  87. what room is the purple key

    ReplyDelete
  88. Charged cross blows up Bear.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Out thanks for help.

Kinda have mixed feelings on this one.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Finally found clue for anagram on phone in R.

Purple key is on ground floor somewhere. Only visible with flashlight.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Hurray, the # box was my last crystal. Off to knock the stuffing out of that bear!

    ReplyDelete
  92. I wanna use this hammer on the bear. He keeps stealing stuff then throwing me somewhere else and I'm getting darned annoyed with this game.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Andrea, my strategy seems to have worked. I'm finally out. Look at 10:46. Yes, this is a very frustrating game that I was ready to give up until I realize I wasn't as stuck as I thought I was.

    ReplyDelete
  94. Kudos to SD for trying something new and challenging. Boo for making it timed. I like to explore the large games. This made me rush. Maybe if the timer was twice as long? Or 5 minutes? Or not stealing a critical key so that you have to start over?

    ReplyDelete
  95. Andrea, I tried to use the crowbar on the bear. The hammer was too good for him. Also tried the lighter.

    ReplyDelete
  96. In an endless loop in rooms. have restarted many times. silver key gone. I am not going to continue

    ReplyDelete
  97. Quitting this one. Worst SD game ever (and I usually love these).

    ReplyDelete
  98. Oops, I restarted the game at 10:41. Hope that didn't throw anyone off.

    ReplyDelete
  99. I think I'm stuck too. Bear swiped my silver key and my screwdriver and the silver key is my only way out.

    ReplyDelete
  100. Great game, loved it. More of these please SD :)

    ReplyDelete
  101. I hate to give SD a low score on this but this is just not cool.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Yes, Andrea, if your silver key is gone and it isn't in a lower room you have to start over. You could sit around and wait for the bear to toss you to the other side of the door, but I can't promise you he will.

    ReplyDelete
  103. I'm giving up : I'm tired of wandering in rooms, waiting for the objects to reappear...

    ReplyDelete
  104. I cant seem to find my SD again and I need it to open compartment in H

    ReplyDelete
  105. third restart. got thingy that let me keep my objects. but the bear sending me back to the stone wall every few minutes is a pain in the back side. not going to continue

    ReplyDelete
  106. and out .letter box : ruben

  108. esp. for this game, it really pays off to read game description - you even have 3 possibilities for that: either on top of this page or below game screen or as intro in game itself...!
I'm glad that I usually at least skim the description for each game, so I knew for this one what will happen with stuff collected - hence my strategy was from the game start the same as Lurker Smurf mentionned above, so no probs while playing

thx selfdefiant for the refreshing difference :-)

    ReplyDelete
  109. don't remember room letter anymore, but sd was bottom right in scene 3 scenes to the right from red number hint on 2 pipes

    ReplyDelete
  110. How can I get other crowbar? I've lost my first one!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  111. hi all, i need a little help, where can i use the knife?

    ReplyDelete
  112. I think I need to play this one when I am not so drowsy because all I am getting is frustrated and wanting to scream at my computer "STOP TAKING MY STUFF YOU DEMON BUILD-A-BEAR."

    ReplyDelete
  113. I am so annoyed, I thought the last asylum game had fixed the problem. Looking forward to playing the game. 2 mins into it it CRASHED AGAIN. Tried x3 times same result.
I have updated flash player, plenty memory etc...What is the problem SD, the last one was fine?

    ReplyDelete
  114. Dang that was a challenge!

    ReplyDelete
  115. First of all collect 50 orbs and buy amulet and only then start collecting other items.

    ReplyDelete
  116. crap game
it is a waste of time, to look for things again

    ReplyDelete
  117. cannot find my screwdriver that the bear nicked. need it to finish the game.

    ReplyDelete
  118. Cannot find last crystal or where to use knife.
    *sigh*
    Stupid bear....

    ReplyDelete
  119. if I remember right, the SD was in Y but it is stolen and after I got the amulet there is no SD....need SD and crystal I got at the beginning without the amulet :(

    ReplyDelete
  120. Come to think of it, I don't remember using the knife after it didn't work on the bear...

    ReplyDelete
  121. I hope that you're ok, SD, as the last few games haven't been up to your normal exacting standards...

    ReplyDelete
  122. Sorry, SD I thought you might have the manners to answer questions? or is it a case of what's happening recently, where only compliments are acknowledged?
Doesn't matter about players who have got you to here playing your games. Poor show.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Giving up, restarted twice and keep losing the game and returning to start screen when teddy shows up.
    Not much fun this one.

    ReplyDelete
  124. I love the Challenge of this game!

    ReplyDelete
  125. Give SD a break for trying something new. This game was obviously a lot of work, we just didn't like it as much as most of his games. There was one once where you could die. We didn't like that, and he did not make another like that. Just because this game doesn't conform to what we expect out of SD doesn't mean the game is bad. It's just different because it requires a learning curve.

That said, please don't do this again. Or have something we can purchase to stop the bear from sending us through Hyperspace like it was the old Atari game Asteroids, never knowing where we're going to end up. It was definitely a clever twist, but not if you have other things to do in the day.

    ReplyDelete
  126. I really enjoyed the game, just have to buy the amulet as soon as possible, then the map and the crystal and you can laugh at the teddie tricks :) It's different from other SD games but enjoyable as well.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Loved it! After (reading here about) getting the amulet it went ok. Love the Asylums (and the sunny places Sneaky goes to!). Thank you!!!

    ReplyDelete
  128. Thanks everyone, I knew that not everyone would like the game. It's ok, Im not offended by your comments. I liked it and had fun with it and there are quite a few people who liked it. That's all that really matters. Will I do something new again?, You bet! I will continue to change things and try new things, no matter what anyone says. You always have a choice to play, you don't have to. Thanks Lurker, I knew someone would figure things out. :)

    ReplyDelete
  129. If the game crashes on your computer, maybe, just maybe the problem is at your end! Quite clearly the game works for the vast majority of people. If you prefer games which never change or try anything new, look for Ainars games (no longer at EG24). We should be so grateful for the ingenious efforts of developers like Selfdefiant.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Hey, Ainars' last game had us collecting pizza, cupcakes, and cups of coffee. Sometimes mindless drivel is fun.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Need one crystal and where to use the knife???

    ReplyDelete
  132. LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  133. LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  134. I suspect there are two issues getting confused here after HectorPector's comments. I am one of those cannot play SD's games any more as flash dies on our PCs. This happened suddenly a few weeks ago, and to a number of people at the same time so it is not simply one person's computer. It also only happens (as far as I am aware ) with SD's games.
This should not be confused with those that did/did not like the game and the different approach. Unfortunately I won't be able to make any comment on the game quality and my enjoyment of it for the technical reasons with flash

    ReplyDelete
  135. Had to use the walkthrough to get the code for the last box in AI with pointed colored arrows - I am dense - no clue where the clue was - great game - very challenging

    ReplyDelete
  136. You can add me to the list where SD's games crash in the middle of playing. I don't have a problem with any other games.

    ReplyDelete
  137. Great game as always SD. Couldn't wait to kill that bear

    ReplyDelete
  138. I've been searching for a cause to games crashing, the only thing that I have found is if you right click and turn off hardware acceleration it fixes it. I haven't had any problems so it makes it really hard to figure it out. The hardware setting has fixed it for quite a few that were having problems. I really wish I knew what the problem was for everyone, I would fix it.

    ReplyDelete
  139. FYI, as this game is right now it's possible to get stuck in an unwinnable place. If the bear steals the crowbar, and you get stuck in a loop in the place you can only get out of by using the crowbar to get the green key, then you have to completely restart in order to finish (happened to me the first time I tried playing).

    ReplyDelete
  140. If the game were tweaked so that the bear sent you somewhere random every time (after a while you get sent to the same room every time rather than to a random place) or if the bear stole everything except the crowbar and green key, then (I think) you couldn't get permanently stuck, and that would make it more fun (for me).

    ReplyDelete
  141. can't even get the game to work; just have a black screen the the red word 'Axylem' at top.

    ReplyDelete
  142. ignore last remark, very slow loading, unusual for sd game

    ReplyDelete
  143. For a moment, I was holding a new-found admiration for Selfdefiant.
I started playing, got just as confused as everyone else, checked the comments, and assumed that Selfdefiant had purposefully created a deliberately buggy and frustratingly unplayable game just to take the piss out of everyone, the low-ball vote stackers in particular.
I thought it was a brilliant move on his part!
Then I got to the part of the comments which indicate that no, this was a serious effort at a game.

    Sigh...

Most people fix what is broken BEFORE trying new things. That way the new things aren't broken as well.
Spinning rims don't make a car with fouled plugs run any better.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Well....SD....maybe you could release a sequel version where some of us can just play the game through the end without it being timed? I love the huge map and lots of puzzles, but I hate timed games. I really, REALLY would like to be able to finish this game - but (as I've said already) without it being timed??? Oh well, I can try, can't I?

    ReplyDelete
  145. Huw, while I agree with the sentiment, your analogy fails. Ainars' games worked on everyone's computer.
    Always.
There is a problem with Selfdefiant's games, insofar as they cause crashes in certain system configurations which are very common.
Including brand new installs of both Chrome and IE.
I fail to see how that could possibly be blamed on the user, especially when two years ago none of Selfdefiant's games did this.
Something changed at his end, and that is when the problems started for so many people at the user end.
If it was a user problem, it would not have started for so many people at the same time and it would not be nearly so pervasive.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Not quite out yet...third restart, collected orbs like crazy so I could buy map and amulet right away. Stupid bear kept sending me back, but on the bright side, I finally collected enough orbs to buy the crystal which made returning to where I was much easier.

    ReplyDelete
  147. Even though this was harder and more frustrating, I really appreciate that SD is willing to innovate and try things - some of his ideas are incredibly creative, and I always enjoy his games, even when I can't for the life of me KILL THAT BEAR!

    ReplyDelete
  148. Walkthrough (part 1)

Try not to collect any items at first. Especially the crowbar. If you pick it up don’t put it in your inventory.
About every 2 minutes the bear will send you somewhere random in the house.

First try to collect 50 orbs.

Once you have at least 50 orbs, when you get sent to the room with the stone walls (with a missing stone in front of you) go left, up, and look for a clickable place in the darkness.
Buy the amulet* (*if you have found and lost the crowbar, you shouldn’t buy anything—after you buy things the bear no longer sends you to random places and you’ll be stuck, so wait until you have randomly re-found the crowbar, and hold it, don’t put it in inventory until you have bought the amulet).
If you have another 25 orbs, you can also buy the map (get CRYSTAL from map)
When you get enough orbs (75), the traveling crystal will make the game less frustrating.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Walkthrough part 2
The CROWBAR is in the set of rooms you can get to from the stone wall (room A).
There’s also a stone block to remove in that set of rooms (room N) to get the GREEN KEY
You can now open the door that connects the stone wall rooms to the rest of the house.

The hints on the pipes (use numbers top to bottom, room B) open the 6 number box in the next room (room C) to get the SILVER KEY
The silver key opens the room north from room D.

The screwdriver in room E (more pipes) opens the panel in room H to get another CRYSTAL.
The crowbar opens the dryer in room M to get the RED KEY

The phone in room R has the hint letters to anagram to open the letter code box in room I (pink? chairs) (see Mako’s comment 3/12/15, 10:59 AM for the spoiler) for another CRYSTAL

    LIGHTER in drawer in AA
Light fire in Q for BLUE KEY

    ReplyDelete
  150. Walkthrough part 3
    FLASHLIGHT in U
Use flashlight in D for PURPLE KEY

    HAMMER in AE
Use hammer on doll in baby buggy in AO for GOLD KEY

Use colored letters on clipboard in AB with hint on back to get the numbers to open the 3 color dial box in AC SP4OI9LE7R for a CRYSTAL

Number on bottom of X-ray in AN opens 4-number box in AM for CRYSTAL

Use color compass directions from map on color dial box in AI for a CRYSTAL

KNIFE on tray in AM (never used?)

    CROSS in desk in Z
Use 6 crystals and then cross in U for CHARGED CROSS

Use charged cross on teddy in AP

    ReplyDelete
  151. Walkthrough addendum
    6 crystals:
    On the map
    Behind panel in room H
    Letter box in I
    Dial box in AC
    4 number box in AM
    Dial box in AI

  152. @Herpington..But you can't ignore the fact that a lot of people playing SD games are not crashing. I'm not tech savvy in the least sense, but logic tells me that there is something wrong with your computer/server/browser/connection. How else can you explain that the majority of game players are not experiencing the crashes that you are???

  153. If games crash in 'certain system configurations which are very common', it would perhaps be useful to describe the configuration. It is a bit much to expect a developer to divine your setup via telepathy! There are so many variables (hardware, operating system, browser, anti-virus software, ad-blocker, java version, flash player version, if applicable etc. etc.). It is a safe assumption that the developer has an up to date configuration and tests the game in the most commonly used browsers. Expecting more than that for a free game is ridiculous.

  154. Really disappointed in this! I tried the suggestion of saving orbs to buy the amulet, but before I got there, he still managed to steal the silver key. I am now completely stuck with worthless tools and find it pretty unfair that the object of the game is to escape, and yet we cannot. If the bear "dropped" the stolen items in the area where we get planted, then fine, but he clearly doesn't! Very disappointed.

  155. Anyway the game was more interesting and not scary, although more difficult.

  156. Rachel with a crowbar you can get green and red key anyway.

  157. I think this game was a great effort to try something different. The Teddy Bear was extremely annoying. It was constantly catching me and throwing me back to the same spot before I had a chance to explore the room I was in. I'd like to suggest that if you do another game like this in the future, Selfdefiant, that you make the assailant appear through various click/hotspots throughout the game. That way, we are not constantly being stalked by the assailant and we only get bounced to a different location when we click on a bad hotspot where the assailant or assailants are hiding in various different rooms. I was disappointed that I didn't get to use the knife. By the end of the game, I really wanted to stab the living hell out of that little Ess Oh Bee. Other than the Teddy Bear, I really enjoyed this game. To the people having trouble with crashing. I noticed recently that when I am signed in to facebook that it makes my flashplayer crash when I have games, videos or movies opened in other windows or tabs. This is especially true when I also have the chat feature open and am talking to friends on facebook while watching movies or playing games. In order to keep facebook from making my flashplayer crash, I have to completely sign out of it and close my browser and then re-open the browser to play games or whatever. I hope this helps someone.

  158. Good Morning SD - I, like Zoe, would appreciate a re-release with more time between "send-offs". I really love your games and appreciate how you change things up. This game had a lot of interesting and new scenes and I was disappointed that I couldn't just wander through and savor them. Had to rush, rush, rush. But yes, I know, that was part of the game design ....

  160. I really LOOOVED this game but for one thing. I had lost my crow bar and my screw driver before I understood that I should not pick up anything before having the amulet. After buying the amulet, I kept going, found the crowbar again but never found the sd again. Found everything without help (but for the anagram). When I finaly arrived at AK, I had to start the whole game as I was missing a cristal !!!! I think it would have been a good idea to put the sd back in the game (as you did for the crowbar). Really GREAT game. Thank you for this change.

  161. I like this game - but I can't find the screwdriver since the bear stole it! Do I need to start again, does anyone know ?

    ReplyDelete
  162. Very good game Selfdefiant, but please make it so that we can't mess up & have to start again. I can't find the screwdriver after the bear stole it . . .

  163. this game is not for me unless if a have a super mouse to click everything fast, sorry selfdefient this is the worstless game

  164. I love SD's games. But this crashing problem has me at my wit's end. It's so frustrating. Was playing on Explorer when the crashes began to constantly happen. SD suggested playing on Chrome. That worked for a couple of weeks and now the same thing is happening again. And when I right click on the screen there is no option for me to undo "hardware acceleration"

    ReplyDelete
  165. In theory I liked the idea but in practice we were thrown back to that walled room far too quickly/too often. I also had my screwdriver taken before I "bought" the amulet which meant I couldn't actually complete the game and that was really frustrating :(

  166. DAMN YOU DREADY. You stole all my stuff then kept putting me back in the same spot. Now im stuck and cant get the amulet or get out.

    ReplyDelete
  167. Giving up. Dready has put me in the same hole times in a row and there is no way out. I am behind the green key door and have no where tho exit. had enough. Liked the idea at first but now it's a pain in the ASS. Nice try , bad implementation.

    ReplyDelete
  168. And anoother thing. Like others said, if the bear is going to steal stuff it should be put back where it was found. And the timed game thing is a POOR fallback. You make excellent games and adding this timed game sequence is VERY annoying. Especially when things disappear and when the "random" teleports from the bear continuously put you in a room you can NOT get out of. After 20 minutes of waiting to get out I just gave up.

    ReplyDelete
  169. There is no way out of the stone room unless you have already gotten the green key and the bear didn't steal the key and crowbar. If he did, then you can NOT get out. It does NO good for the crobar to respawn elsewhere if you never get to use it to get the key to escape the stone room.

  170. Enjoyably Challenging!

Once you learn to collect ONLY enough orbs to
purchase the amulet, the game is very "win-able" in
    true SD fashion!

    Thanks Self-Defiant.

  171. @ Maroonclown , if you were able to play on Chrome for a while and now there are problems, it's probably due to the Flash player cache being full. There's an article on my forum to clear it. That's what it sounds like the problem could be.

    ReplyDelete
  172. Idk what I am talking about lol, but I tried to read up about it and maybe it is "over excessive memory usage".

    From this source: blogs.adobe.com

"The generic memory error icon was added in Flash Player version 10.1 and will appear within a browser when the Flash Player has been particularly abused or is running in a very low memory environment. The icon, affectionately known as the Gray Circle of Death (GCOD), is a gray circle with a white exclamation mark within it.

It is not just an icon, however. It is a sign that Flash is protecting your computer from an application that is asking for more memory than your browser has available. The browser will crash if it runs out of memory and that is a Very Bad Thing. If that happens your browser may crash or your computer may crash and need a restart. Flash now has the feature in which it shuts down an application if that application causes a memory problem.

Most important to most people is not what the GCOD is, but how to make it go away. In all cases, an application does not have enough memory to run. The application could be needing a reasonable amount of memory but the browser does not have that much memory available. On the other hand, the application could also go into a death spiral because of a programming error and suck up every bit of memory available in even the heftiest computers. There are many ways for an application to overrun its memory.

When the GCOD is seen, the first course of action is to contact the developer of the Flash application. I have a decent computer and I have only seen the GCOD appear because of the coding of the application. The GCOD is not a problem Flash Player causes. You see it when the safety valve has blown."

  173. I lost all my stuff once, then came here to read what was going on. Quite early in the comments you read about not collecting anything till you get the amulet. Very simple, still aggravating to keep transporting back to the same place, but just the same as any other SD game. I could do without the transporting part, but loved it just the same. It did make it more challenging, especially before getting the map. Thanks for the continued games SD.

  174. I'm stuck without the silver key and can only go from the shop to some water. Not much fun if that's it for me and I'm not starting again.

    ReplyDelete
  175. @Larue,
I've never seen the GCOD. I know that older computers and settings in general will prevent much memory to be used. I have a lot of memory so it might be why I never see it. None the less some games do this and some don't and they are all programed the same. I'm not doing physics or anything to take up memory in the games. Also I've been making games for so long and just recently this started happening. I really don't think it's anything I am doing.

  176. Thanks SD (even of it was a glitch) for letting me buy the crystal for only 47 orbs even though it said the price was 75 it made the game finally bearable (no pun intended).... once I could jump around the map the bear became a minor irritation

    ReplyDelete

  177. The GCOD is what people are seeing when they get a white screen with an exclamation point in a circle, like they have in these few games of yours that I picked out.

If you Google search> white screen SD escapegames24
you can see how many games come up in the search.

  181. It should be fixed now. :) Thanks!

    ReplyDelete
  182. SD I feel its only right that I should comment when things are fixed. Contrary to opinion, I don't like complaining as I think your games are great, which is where much of the frustration comes in.
To answer those who say the problem comes from the users end is not true. The system I am using is brand new, it has 8gb memory, a good processor and the most recent flash player. I know a little (not much) about the workings of a game and I know for definite it isn't my system to blame. I had as the above poster mentioned the exclamation mark, I followed all the instructions, cleared the cache, deleted folders and turned off the acceleration etc and I still had the problem.
In saying all that, the problem is now fixed. I haven't adjusted any of my settings, so a great big thanks SD if you have done any work your end.
I am cautiously optimistic, because although it worked with one game it did not the next, but I think I should recognise your efforts in solving the problem.
To all those who think people complain just for the sake of it, don't be so ready to jump to assumptions. SD is one of my favourite games, and one of the best game makers, so for to not be able to play when others are saying "It's ok my end" is quite annoying. More annoyingly are the ones who say "what do you expect for a free game"
Anyway as I said SD the problem is now sorted and thanks for the effort of making the games.

  184. Good game as always. Best way to make it excellent would require you to complete all tasks then hunt Dreddy down and send it to binary hell for final part to get out.

    ReplyDelete
  185. even though the game is not new, it was for me. i loved the evil teddy. it was frustrating in a good way. i love SD games and have now played almost all of them. awesome work!
