guys i need help. i used awesome strategies, and have nearly finished the first game 'a new home', except for one thing. i have the golden child, all techs are fully researched, the golden kid's opened the cave, and i've finished all the puzzles, except the treasure one. can anyone tell me what to do once the cave is open, and how to explore it, pleeeeez?

hi guys i am having a real hard time doing puzzle 15. i have got level 3 in everything and i have found the place where the treasure is burried. the thing is that i dont know how to get it out and when i put it on top of the spot it just says 'is there somthing burried here?' how do i get it out im goin crazy!?!

Here are the puzzles in Virtual Villagers 1
#1 get a trainee builder to clean the well #2 build a hut #3 clean the ocean debris #4 get a shool with your master scientist(in the large hut front of the research table) #5 get a lvl 2 construction
and clear away the rocks blocking the creek #6 prepare a master farmer and drag it in the lagoon it may cath a magical fish #7 get a upgrade in spirituality and make a graveyard beside the blocked cave #8 examine all the plants you can find #9 water the strange patch in the field #10 the fruitless plant will become a fruit of life!!! use the golden child (i will tell you about that later) drag the golden child in the garden and drag it again in the fruitless plant and done #11 build a ruins #12 create a idol out of a giant rock #13 i think place a girl villager that is carrying a baby make them swim in the lagoon and the child will become a golden child #14 call the butterflies in the garden by using your golden child drag it to the garden #15 i dont know it still?! #16 when the golden child appeared,wait until the villagers saw what is happening to the golden child...it is using magic to unlock the cave thats it just ask me qwestions

here are my questionss for you folks out there... early on in the game when the algae forms in the ocean and no more fishing can take place, can they eat anything else before they get the stew pot required for preparing the stews? I can't figure out how to get at the coconuts either. Also, about the fishing, if I set fewer people to the task of fishing or stop them sooner, can I put off the onset of the algae since it is said to be attributed to overfishing?

OMG!my daughter and i have been playing for weeks!FINALLY i jus finished my final puzzle,#15...uuugh.now wut?kind of a letdown in the end after all that work.guess we`ll change users and start over..this time "cheating" by moving the computer clock forward here and there,lol.(only do this once u have well established food!it will make babies children,move construction along,and the elderly may die of old age,also tech points quicker)wut do we do with THIS village?also,don`t forget the OPTIONS,u can set game to twice normal pace.

i originslly set 1 villager to farm, 1 to build and the rest to research. then i bought everything in the following order:
Farming level 2
Science level 2
spirituality level 2
construction level 2
medicine level 2
Farming level 3
science level 3
construction level 3
fertility level 2
medicine level 3
fertility level 3
best to have at least four farmers,
2 men, 2 women, with one girl having a baby at all times. as many scientists as possible.
worked for me :)

PUZ-01] THE WELL
NEEDED: Trainee (or higher) Builder
This puzzle is the simplest of the 16 puzzles, and is even provided to
you as part of the opening tutorial. Drag the Builder to the well in
the village. They will uncover it, and solve the first puzzle.
[PUZ-02] BUILDING A NEW HUT
NEEDED: No special requirements.
This puzzle is another simple puzzle. In the middle of the village is
the partially completed hut. To solve this puzzle, simply finish
building the hut.
[PUZ-03] THE BEACH
NEEDED: No special requirements.
Another easy one to start off with. There is driftwood on the beach.
Drag one or more builders to the wreckage, and allow them to clean
it up. Once it is gone, this puzzle is solved.
[PUZ-04] THE SCHOOL
NEEDED: Master Scientist
One of the more challenging initial ones, despite the fact that they
tell you what to do. Drag the Scientist to the building just north
of the research table. They will convert the building into a school,
which gives small (very small) amounts of skill to new children. Now
if there only weren't those child labor laws in the village...
[PUZ-05] THE LAKE
NEEDED: Level 2 Construction
Once you have the needed level of Construction, drag a builder to the
rocks that dam the lake. They will slowly remove the rocks. Once
the rocks have been completely removed, the lake will return, and you
will have solved this puzzle.
[PUZ-06] THE FISH
NEEDED: Puzzle 5 (The Lake)
Level 3 Farming
Master Farmer
Drag your farmer into the lake. This may take a few times, but
eventually, they will start to hunt a rare fish. This fish not only
solves this puzzle, but it improves breeding.
[PUZ-07] BURYING THE DEAD
NEEDED: Level 2 Spirituality
A dead villager
Once a villager has died, with the required level of Spirituality,
you can have their bones taken to the burial grounds, to be properly
buried. It may take a few tries to drag someone to the corpse, as
the sick, perverted people on the island try to embrace the dead
body, but once they're done burying the body, the puzzle is solved.
[PUZ-08] HERB MASTERY
...Why is this number 8? I always complete it second. Ahem. Anyways.
On the edges of the village, there are several sorts of 'strange
plants'. Drag a villager to each of them. Once they have gotten the
message 'Your villagers now understand this herb!', drag them to the
next plant. Once done, you will have solved this puzzle, and will
have a boost to your healing abilities.
[PUZ-09] THE FIELD
NEEDED: Puzzle 5 (The Lake)
A LOT of patience
This puzzle always seems to take me an inordinant amount of time.
Hopefully it will go by faster for you. Once the villagers have
watered the field enough, the puzzle will be solved.
[PUZ-10] FRUITLESS PLANT
NEEDED: Puzzle 5 (The Lake)
Puzzle 9 (The Field)
Puzzle 11 (The Ruins)
Puzzle 12 (The Idol)
Puzzle 13 (The Golden Child)
Puzzle 14 (Butterflies)
The Golden Child
After summoning the butterflies in Puzzle 14, bring the child to
the plant that 'looks like it could produce fruit'. The butterflies
will follow, and pollenate the plant, completing this puzzle.
Now if we only knew why they required puzzles 11 through 14 to be done,
in order to complete number 10...
[PUZ-11] THE RUINS
NEEDED: Not currently known.
SPECULATED: Level 2 or 3 Spiritualism, Level 2 or 3 Construction.
This puzzle involves letting a few builders loose on the ruins in
the southeast portion of the island. Once they have rebuilt the
ruins, this puzzle is completed.
[PUZ-12] THE IDOL
NEEDED: Puzzle 11 (The Ruins)
Level 3 Spiritualism
SPECULATED: Level 3 Construction
Another building project. Bring your builders to the large rock
in the northwest corner of the island. After a while, the idol
will appear, and the puzzle will be completed.
[PUZ-13] THE GOLDEN CHILD
NEEDED: Puzzle 5 (The Lake)
Puzzle 11 (The Ruins)
Puzzle 12 (The Idol)
A villager carrying their baby.
SPECULATED: Level 3 Breeding, Level 3 Medicine.
This puzzle is the most crucial to completing the remaining puzzles.
Drag a villager with baby to the water. If the message says
something like 'The baby reaches towards the water', complete the
action, to create the golden child and complete this puzzle.
Renaming the baby to Neo is optional.
[PUZ-14] BUTTERFLIES
NEEDED: Puzzle 5 (The Lake)
Puzzle 9 (The Field)
Puzzle 11 (The Ruins)
Puzzle 12 (The Idol)
Puzzle 13 (The Golden Child)
The Golden Child
Bring the golden child to the field. They will summon butterflies.
Puzzle complete.
No, really. It's that simple.
[PUZ-15] BURIED TREASURE
NEEDED: Master Builder
SPECULATED: Construction Level 3
Bring the builder to a spot just to the left of the ruins. It may
take a bit of moving around, dragging and dropping them, as there is
no clue as to when you have hit the correct spot. Once they have
found the spot, any villagers can be brought (regardless of Builder
level) to help dig. Once the treasure is uncovered, the puzzle is
completed.
[PUZ-16] THE CAVE
NEEDED: Puzzle 5 (The Lake)
Puzzle 9 (The Field)
Puzzle 11 (The Ruins)
Puzzle 12 (The Idol)
Puzzle 13 (The Golden Child)
The Golden Child
SPECULATED: Must complete the first 14 puzzles first.
The golden child will eventually move near the cave, and start
'Meditating'. After a bit of time, the cave will magically open,
completing this puzzle, and technically, completing the game.

BEFORE I STARTED TO PLAY VIRTUAL VILLAGERS I LOOKED UP HOW MANY PEOPLE COULD BE MADE AND ALL THAT OTHER STUFF. TO MY SURPRISE 90 PEOPLE IS NOT THE LIMIT. IF YOU ARE AT 89 PEOPLE AND HAVE TWINS OR TRIPLETS YOU CAN HAVE 91 TO 92 PEOPLE. ALSO IF YOU PAUSE THE GAME BY PUSHING THE SPACE BAR AND MAKE THEM KISS ON PAUSE BEFORE IT ADDS HOW MANY PEOPLE, YOU MIGHT GET, DEPENDING ON HOW MANY PEOPLE YOU MATE, A LOT OF PEOPLE.

TO GET THE GOLDEN CHILD ALL U HAVE TO DO IS PURCHASE LEVEL THREE OF SPIRITUALITY AND BEGIN CHIZZELING THE TEMPLE BY THE LAGOON U NEED THIS TO GET THE GOLDEN CHILD THEN PLACE A NURSING MOTHER IN TO THE LAGOON AFTER U HAVE PURCHASED LEVEL THREE OF FERTILITY AND U WILL GET RID OF PUZZLES 12 AND 13

I have completed all puzzles, have all levels of tech, the golden child, etc.
I keep getting a "He thinks this building could be converted." over the building just north of the research table. I have dropped a Master Scientist, Farmer and Builder as well as the Golden Child on this building but nothing happens. Have I just completed the game but too stubborn to let it go?? Please help.

hey can someone help me does it matter if you finish a puzzle out of order. I skipped the flower with the stars around it an have gotten the idol and the ruins done. Now I am having trouble getting the golden child I have thrown every caring mom with baby in the lagoon and nothing happens. I have only gotten one set of twins what now.

Hi there. I am having such a hard time with this game. I get as far as getting 80k to attempt to get the last farming and most of my tribe has died due to no food. I've tried everything. Whats a good strategy to keep people alive. I know not to make kids as much so I've done that. Plz help! I have started over three times. :( but love the game :)
