Found newspaper, knife on floor. Use knife on apple and get key. Use key on upper cabinet and get computer laptop. Now I'm stuck

I got a cd, a lighter, socks and newspaper. Can't find knife.
what do i do with the socks? where's the cd? is there anymore use for the knife after the apple? help pls this is frustrating!!!
Where is the knife? i know it's in the door but i can't find it
You can light the candles on the round table with the lighter. Other than that I only have the lighter, the key, the laptop, and the knife.

cd-which lamp? they're both white
not sure but maybe knife is on the carpet or the foot of the tables. i'm really not sure, sorry
Marcelo. I think the knife is on the floor somewhere. Not sure, but may be on the right-hand side of picture. Just keep clicking on floor and it will come up.
got a laptop too.. but no socks ?
The knife is under the bed at the foot I think. Keep clicking around for it, but it should be there. If it's not then I might have gotten it next to the bed.
the cd is on the white lamp in the table witk 3 glasses near the apples. in the grey part of the lamp

Which part of the lamp is CD? the Base or the lampshade. I've clicked all over it and nothing

I just found a silver key in the leftside of the gray curtains on the left window.
Ive found the same and also found a lighter on the floor by the book cabinet which i used to light the candles..also found a cd rom around the window above the candles and inserted in the laptop but now im stuck
need one more key??

There is a memory stick in the blue books on the bookcase.

This wasn't bad, the knfe is at the end on the couch on the floor, ight the candles, find the cd rom the two keys use the computer, with the cd rom, floppy and then the memory stick, find the last key at the top of the dresser, and bring the socks with you to dinner !!
Silver key in the curtains opens bottom locked door to get floppy disk insert it in the laptop to get next clue which gives you a memory stick which i found in amoungst the blue books

Newspaper is clue for final key- gold between the twin mountains. What in the room looks like twin mountains?

Walkthrough:
(Note: I never found the socks, sorry.)
1) Click on blue books in case, for clue about lighter and knife. (NOTE: You cannot get any item without reading the clue about it first.)
2) Lighter is under the large locked case.
3) Knife is under the foot of the bed.
4) Use knife on apple. You will gain a BRONZE KEY.
5) Use BRONZE KEY on upper doors of locked case. You will gain NOTEBOOK COMPUTER.
6) Click Red/Brown books (upper books) for clue about which candles to light.
7) Light the three candles on the ROUND table.
8) Click the green surface of the ROUND table for clue about the CD.
9) CD is at the top of the RIGHT white lampshade.
10) Use CD on NOTEBOOK COMPUTER for clue to find SILVER KEY.
11) Click on the LEFT EDGE of the RIGHT CURTAIN of the LEFT WINDOW. You will gain SILVER KEY. (NOTE: You will need to click above the windowsill, not below it.)
12) Use SILVER KEY on the lower locked doors of case. You will gain FLOPPY DISK.
13) Use FLOPPY DISK on COMPUTER. You will gain clue about MEMORY STICK.
14) Click on BLUE BOOKS again. You will gain MEMORY STICK.
15) Use MEMORY STICK on COMPUTER. You will gain clue about GOLD KEY.
16) Click around on TOP of the curved top of the large case. Does the shape look familiar?
17) You will gain GOLD KEY, and will be able to escape.
NOTE: I think you need the socks, to win the game, but you still can leave the room itself without them.

I got the happy ending too.
The socks are on the arm of the white large sofa (arm nearest to you) between the tall all-white lamp and the bluish candlestick.
Socks are over the bed near the lamp. You'll need them for Santa Claus gifts.
