dont know about triangle and shaded square
Do you think we are supposed to read 4 numbers from the plant?...there are four branches on mine
Can't find the numbers for safe :
- full square : maybe 8 (green book)
- full triangle : 6 or 7 (glasses)
- full star : 2 (turtle)
- empty circle : ?
- empty square : 5 (glasses)
- empty triangle : 3 (bike lock)
Anyway, I can't enter any number on the safe keyboard (I miss the key, I suppose).
finally..i've been waiting all day. a game...but just starting...
The safe code is driving me crazy. I think it means square,triangle,star (all shaded) PLUS the unshaded on the table...but i get a four figure number from that.
Empty circle on calendar? Either 5 (for fifth day) or 3 (for three strokes)...this is far too ambiguous.
PLUS all our numbers are different... waaaaaah.
i think you need to use the square root of the second set of figures (the unshaded ones) but mine doesn't work either way..
there is a triangle on the bike lock, not sure which number it relates to though
@trev for bike code put tv on colors put number paintin on wall and click on it once so that it tilts and switch off light
put code as colors on wall.you might have to guess a bit.i got confused on which color was which
siouxzana - i used straight addition.
for the bike lock, the triangle matches the number when it the lock is closed. so if the triangle is on the 3rd slot, it's the 2nd number.
... ARGH!
somehow... i think our numbers are the same....
just that we are looking at them from different angles. LOL!
still stuck on code.cant understand how to read unshaded on table. do i have to add the numbers of shapes or just arrange them in that order

What about the number behind the green leaves? And the numbers that I see when using the glasses, how am I supposed to read them? VIIX doesn't tell me anything, nor does XIIX!
nottypomy,i did that and put corresponding numbers to colours in bike lock but it still wont happen,im now left with a massive headache,and i havent even reached safe code yet.what am i doing wrong!!!!!!

No matter what I do, by adding I get a four digit number. This can't be right.
The safe code is a straightforward addition. The only # I didn't have was the solid square but to keep the addition to 3 digits (under 1000), I had only 2 options... safe opened and out.
And behind the leaves of the plant it is either 'URL' or " R L.....(does this mean right to left?)

I had an 8 for the solid square...I changed it to a 4...so that the number would come under 1000 - no other reason...and was lucky.

How do you enter a code for the safe ? I click on numbers and nothing happens !
Pascale, do you have the gold key from the fish tank for the safe? I think you may need it before you can enter your code.
Justin, sorry I forget, I just used a low enough number that it kept the answer to 3 digits...trial and error...all the other numbers were correct.
If I get time I will play again and remember to sign the paper on the coffee table as well as stamp it...different end maybe?

Here's what was screwing me up forever on the safe code. The number from the plant is circle, triangle square. You have to follow the order of the branches. I was totally overlooking that.
I did as sharron, guessing the solid square and got the safe open.
You do have to get the numbers from the table according to the plants stems, and the triangle on the lock is indeed based on its lokation when locked, not open.
Got a paper with japanese signs. Now what? :)

The safe code is the 3 numbers plus the other 3 numbers. And, I realized that the open circle number was on the calendar. On my calendar, the 5th symbol was circled... so that = 5.
click the bottom of couch near the floor the star is there and right above it between the cushions is the key
don't forget to close your items menu
safe code is addition of 2 three-digit-numbers. then subtract 100...
I played two times and each time I find the safe code just like I explained before.

It is just straight addition. I got
(Dark Square:Dark Triangle:Dark Star) + (Empty Circle:Empty Square:Empty Triangle)
I guessed on the dark square!
I got the dark star from the turtle (8)
I got the dark triangle from the glasses & side of the turtle tank (9)
I got the empty circle from the calendar (5 - 5th mark over)
I got the empty square from the glasses & side of the turtle tank (4)
I got the empty triangle from the bike lock (6 - 3rd # from the right)
So my addition problem now became
?98+564 = ?62
So I guessed on the first # and came up with 762, and in the safe...ugh a paper I can't read!

ARG! I seriously cannot get that code for the safe. I used Justin's hints and I'm still at a loss.
Exactly how do you figure out the shaded in square from the diary? I suspect on the opposite page it represents the date, but using the number for the following day doesn't work. Not to mention that the number for the bike lock, is the the corresponding number to the triangle when you view the code inversly?
Someone help please? Big pain.

well, if it's not working for you you can start again and get different numbers!, i'm trying that.
what i can't figure out is the roman numerals on the turtle tank side, i'm looking at the symbols that are under the arched lines and i have hollow square as 4 but solid triangle as 12, that can't be right, can it?

I re-read Justin's comment about the number he found in the diary being 1 (The opposite page in my diary said 8-2. I'm assuming it's because it's a Japanese book and they're read from right to left, so naturally and preceding dates would start off from the right.)
Anyway I'll test this out again to see if I'm right.

Seriously what clues can a person get for figuring out the shaded square in the diary. I just guessed, but seriously? It's a pain!
WALKTHROUGH - (kind of)
Enter the room. Left from the aquarium there is a calendar, click on it ONCE. Note that there is a red circle, count on which number that circle is on. That will be your EMPTY CIRCLE number.
Still at this view make sure your item tap is closed, you ll see a blue and red thing. Take it (GLASSES)
Zoom on aquarium. Notice the full star on the back of the turtle. Notice that he is angry.
Still at this zoomed view notice and click on the small blue spot on the bottom right of your screen. Click on it, you ll see roman numbers.
Place glasses on the marked spot, and look at the numbers. Notice the full triangle on one lense, and the empty square on the other. Read what number you see (RED roman number) on your blue lens, this will be your EMPTY SQUARE number. Read the BLUE roman number through your RED lens, that will be your FULL TRIANGLE number.
Zoom out to see the whole room. Click under couch, you ll get a zoomed couch view, and will see an empty star and a number. This will be your EMPTY STAR number.
Still in this zoomed view make sure your item tab is closed, and get small KEY from between couch cushions.
Zoom out, zoom on smoking table, notice the paper on it, and the signs. Zoom out.
Click on pink bucket in left bottom corner, zoom into it and get red cylinder from behind it (STAMP). Zoom out.
Zoom on closets under aquarium. Use small key on closet, open the doors and get things in it (REMOTE, BOOK, PEN). Zoom out.
Look at book. Notice that turtle is unhappy, when TV is on. Notice also, that on the first page in last column there are 2 numbers, and on the 2nd page the second number is covered with a full square. See from the first page which is the number, which is covered, that will be your FULL SQUARE number.
Turn right. Zoom on picture, notice numbers and click on it ONCE. Notice, that it tilts. Leave it like that, zoom out.
Turn back left twice, facing the tv. Click remote ONCE that TV shows a colour chart. Turn off lights (switch next to door), and turn back to tilted picture. Zoom on it, and note down numbers and colours.
Turn lights back on. Turn until you are facing the door. Behind TV on the right hand side there is a grey thing. Take it, it is a DISC.
Turn facing the TV. Click on closet below it, notice it is locked with a bicycle lock. Zoom on lock. Set the right number according to the colour code of TV and picture, and when done, click the arrow. Lock opens. Zoom on lock in your inventory. Notice the triangle on the lock. Imagine the lock locked, so the number to which the tongue belongs will be your EMPTY TRIANGLE number.
Open cabinet, get PLANT.
Put DISC in to dvd player. Zoom out.
Turn that you see tv. Click remote until you are at chanel 4, and see a music clip.
Turn towards aquarium, zoom in. Notice turtle is scared. Lift up turtle, notice the number on his belly. This will be your FULL STAR number.
While lifting up and holding up turtle, notice the roundish shadow on the right in the water. Click on it, it is a KEY. Zoom out.
Zoom on table. Look at paper, 2 circles are on the paper. put stamps with the STAMP on the circles and sign next to bottom stamp with the PEN. Zoom out.
Turn that you see the table from the side, put PLANT in the roundish spot on table shelf. Zoom on paper, move paper and notice plant top points on empty stuff. Note the order ACCORDINT to the PLANT order and the arrow (EMPTY ROUND, EMPTY TRIANGLE, EMPTY SQUARE). Zoom out.
Turn facing tiltetd picture, click on it, take down picture, there is a safe under it. Notice the hint on it: saying 3 signs PLUS the PLANT order. You have now all 8 numbers. Take the topnumber add the bottom number, that will be the safe code.
Place key in safe, put in number, and click safe handle. Read note.
Click on cushion for a while, get it brake and get lighter. Burn paper on table.
Click on door, and you are out.
It happens, that the safe code does not work. Then all i can suggest is to try guessing the first number, as the 2nd and 3rd will be good according to this walkthrough. It is either the red circle or the full square which is not sure.
(this walkthrough worked for me 90% of the times. there was once when i could not get the lighter, nor the safe to open. might be a bug)
If you are having problems with safe code, remember bike lock is reversed as it is open and also the solid square is NOT in the book, you must guess it (but it will be either one number or another or you'll be taken to 4-digit sum which is not good).

the thing is the order of the shapes painted on the table should be circle-triangle-square (not circle-square-triangle as it has been said here many times), it is because when you zoom the plant you can see the arrow, showing you the order of the shapes. And the number fir the FULL SQUARE is always 1 I guess, ciz on the second page it is always 2 (in the diary)

think we have to figure out the numbers for the three (filled) signes from the safe and add the number we get from the 3 signes from the plant.
i think:
filled star = number under the turtel (with me 0)
unfilled star= 7 (couch)
unfilled circle= 4 (calendar seems to be the 4.4.)
filled square= 8 (is the number next to the filled square in the book)
triangel (unsure filled/unfilled) = 3 (bikelock)
