I can read chinese, I bet the word on the paper is the chinese zodiac, coz those 4 words are chicken, ox, dog and tiger, need to find the other 8 zodiac on the paper

Looks like a nice game, glad though that the tab-key helps a little...

so far all i have is a magnet, a pencil, a flower, a wooden object with a point at the end, and what appears to be an old beat-up clock.. i can move the chair in the corner to the glass tank, and i know there is a key out on the hall floor just beyond the door.. i'm stuck now because i can't read any of the japanese books/clues
put pencil in a hole on the cupboard door to get Hammer and Flower

use Hammer to knock off the lock, but still can't open the door
opps... opened the door and got a cloth
you can open the door a little bit more to get a "green" thing
You can make the cloth wet in the aquarium.
First carve the hole with wood carver before you put pencil on the side of closet hole to get flower and hammer
And than put the wet cloth at the clock, it´ll show you "the" time
8 items and wondering what to do?
Open clock, turn "fuses" over and the time changes
use the wet cloth on the clock
You can change the time of the clock from underneath as well
without understanding the content in any of the books, we will be at a great disadvantage
Ah, u can change the hour on the clock yourself... don´t know what time to put it though, maybe the books give a hint
my clock says 11:00..

I got the cloth into the tank, but there's no water in there, now my cloth is stuck at the bottom and I can't get it out. Hmm.

i think you can see what i think is a key on the ground...
maybe we have to use magnet to somehow get it?
@hershorn, to be honest i don´t remember, but i think it was in the cupboard with the lock on it wich you open with the hammer. Once again, i´m not too sure....

The words on the clock are CHINESE ZODIAC.. I am not sure if mine is the same as yours, from 12 o'clock is
Dragon(12:00), Snake(1:00), Rats(2:00), Sheep(3:00), Cock(4:00), House(5:00), Tiger(6:00), Dog(7:00), Ox(8:00), Monkey (9:00), Rabbit(10:00) and Pig (11:00).. As I know, the order is wrong on the clock

@Kirsten, once you stick the wet cloth to the clock, you will see a yellow arrow pointing down in order to open the bottom part of the clock. Inside are two parts of a mechanism to change either the hour or minutes

The first page in the notebook says something about the teacher started teaching at 12 o clock. Twelve means from the twelfth animal...blah blah blah...something about a melody playing...but then it says "hebi" which means snake or serpent. Could have something to do with the chinese characters on the clock?????

after you set the clock to 250... did you click on the 1 ? it is a button, and has a circle around it... makes sound when u push it, but would be easily missed if your sound is off

use the wood pieces on the bars to change the time... one is for hour and one is for minutes...

at the temple after you have got the key, place key on wooden block and draw round it, then cut it out. then place wodden key back in the middle and gates should open up

Got it!!!!!!!!!!U bring back the trolley into the class room and fill the mould with the creme stuff inside!!!!!!!!!
Once you've made the mould by carving wood piece, put back key, then come back in classroom, call the green box back, use what's inside to make a fake key.
Go back to temple, swap real and fake keys, come back, go to cupboard that opens with pencil, use hammer ...
mould for the key is when you go back the classroom call the green box back in and use whats in there with key
i have two keys,
pencil and hammer left.
