Rougoku Walkthrough by Theresa:
1. take the FIRST HINGE right next to door, go left.
2. click right under bed and take the KNIFE and the SECOND HINGE, zoom out.
3. click on the left side of the bed to read the code (E5 S2 N3 W2), zoom out and left again.
4. sharpen the knife on the wall, left again
5. take the BOWL, zoom in on the drain and fill the bowl with water.
6. click the third POLE from the left until you have in in your inventory. zoom out and the right.
7. zoom in on the hole in the wall and use the pole to throw the HAMMER HEAD down - you will find it left of the bed.
8. combine HAMMER HEAD with POLE to get HAMMER.
9. use the waterbowl on every wall to get three "X" and one "WX"
10. Use the Hammer according to code BUT: north and South are switched, so beat the X
- left of the door 5 times,
- over the bed 2 times,
- over the drain 3 times and then
- the WX 2 times (the hammer should be pale in your inventory)
11. go to the bed and find a SCREW in a hole left of it
12. use your knife to cut the STRING from the bed
13. combine the two hinges, then screw, then string and use the resulting HOOK on the small window in the door
14. open the door but DON'T GO OUT!
15. go left and go under the bed, you will see a figure in the door
16. when it's gone go out and through the door - voila! you escaped!

used bowl of water above the bed,have a cross on the wall
to get string use knife thing to cut from bed (knife under right corner of bed)

Anyone know what to do with the hammer. Can get a knocking sound from the x by the door but thats about it.
sorry--I didn't even realize you had to sharpen---I think I just clicked everything with everything that it must have just happened :) stuck now...I thought the xs would mean something with the use of the hammer--but got nothing so far
you can put the two hinges together, but my attempts to string it together were fruitless :(

I can't work out how to get the hammer.
you need a pole. its in the water - 3rd from left. keep clicking and it will come loose. then use that pole to knock down the top of the hammer - which is the bit you cant reach. Then join them together.

the letters are directions- East, South, West..
i'm guessing we have to use the hammer on X in order
can't figure it out though
@DMLR i also thought that way.. but i have no idea how to put that pattern in this room...
and out, but going to try for another ending, cause this didn't seem a very 'positive' one
what if the code on the bed is directions- example East, south south, 2 north, etc. maybe we have to hit the x is a certain order..and w is given for us?

Well, the two hinge things can go together, looks like you need something like a screw to hook them together.
Ya, or the combination faithless made seems more realistic then south and then south twice, lol ;)

one hinge was under the bed and the other one (i think) by the door
comination did something but reverse where south and north are I think for some reason....hammer gone now after loud thump

For the hammer: get a bar and poke the thing in the whole in the wall. It will fall.
DMLR, get the pole from the drain and use that pole to knock the head of the hammer down from the one hole. Then combine the pole and hammer head together.

make the hammer from the pole in the drain (click until it comes loose) use that to get the piece from up high- it will fall next to bed...and combine

Hmm, used the water on all 4 walls. Three of em give an X, but the one wall where you got the hammer head gives a WX...
Got it, but when i use the hammer, its only at the X next to the door its making a sound, not with the others ?
You have to hammer the x's in order from the code.

Inferno - check all the comments, then please ask if you have doubts afterwards.
For good end, open door but don exit yet. Go hide under bed until you see guard coming to check the room. Then you can leave the room.
Got good ending. When you open then door dont go out. Go back round to the bed and go under it. You will then see the guard come in and go out. Then you can go

I've clicked over a hundred times the rod mentioned and then on every bar in the drain, and I still can't get the rod. So then I tried in a different browser and still no luck.

the numbers means how many time you knock the wall and there is one wall have WX thats mean this is the south wall and you shoud lock for anouther dircation
and after you open the door go under the bed until the man go then you go out

DMLR have you made any progress yet? I have tried the order over and over using different x's as my starting point and I still can't get it to work :(

Laura, nope it still only wants to knock at the door X.. knock = sound
I got it if you knock the x's with the hammer, if you got it right there will be a screw next to the bed(use it with the hinge.

Duh ok now I feel stupid - Check out comment 59 x on door is East so the x above the bed should be North right? WRONG .... LOL north and south have been switched around. but west and east are still in the correct places ... Hope this helps

Got good end on first try without help. Remember that Space Station escape with the alien? You do the same thing here. After opening the door, you hide under the bed until a guard comes, and then you make a run for it.
Sounds like a good game, but I cannot get it to load. Tried FF and IE. Anyone have any ideas?
