I read the book "Pickpockets & Secret Pockets." It's on the far right of the bookcase. It opened to a page with a diagram of a secret pocket hidden within a pocket. I assume that means there's a secret pocket in the coat on the rack, but I don't know how to find it.
Well, I really hate that you have to click on the mag glass or hand before you click on every single thing.
I've managed to read 2 books, find a key, pick up a knife and pick up some random thing on the floor in the closet. Can't do anything else so far.
what do we do with the knife?

well only a key and a knife. Key after reading book about secret pocket on coat and knife in other room under dirty cloth...to click the magnifiying glass all the time is anoying

We have been going at it on the Dare House game for well over 3 hours and it's a real stumper at times. It's just frustrating to loose contact when the game and helping out is going really good.

i had nothing in the closet in the 1st room
no, the second room (it's a walk in closet)
the knife is in the other room after you get the key

i don't remember how i got the knife but i just moved the shirt or whatever it was so maybe thats where the knife came from

anyone notice the disparity in the blood stains? the carpet must have been turned about 180 degrees.

Thanks to a remark that there was a box under the carper, I found the way out.
Spoiler walkthrough following !
Walkthrough:
1 Goto COAT and look in pocket to get KEY
2 Open left door with KEY and enter
3 Take black cloth on wall cupboard
4 Take KNIFE from floor
5 Look at small blood smudge left side of carpet
6 Look at pool of blood right from carpet
7 Look again to small blood smudge left side from carpet
8 Now take the carpet and open floor hatch with KNIFE and take box to exit
thanx ernst i'm out but...that was it? no way!!! well at least we escaped
And out! Well now, that was a bit different.

very awkward interface. I didn't like the way this game worked. I kept wanting to check the carpet out more, but the idiot detective wouldn't do it.
I got out with help from the walkthrough.
