gave sugar to ants

I have made a potion in bottle and used it on lizzard on ceiling to get a key.
use the bottle with the butterfly, and put sugar down next to ants

How do you make the potion in the bottle? So far I have a bunch of items, and have only given the sugar to the ants.
give mouse the bread
give the mouse some bread
use magic bottle on butterflies
use potion on ants on sugar bowl for 2nd key

got bird from solving first number puzzle
solved the number puzzle and got a bird
have pumpkin and knife now

Cut pumpkin with knife and use bottle on it.

put the fire pumpkin under the cauldron and put mouse, lizard and bird in it

I cannot put skulls in front of right chair, nor light them on candles.

I put everything into the cauldron - have broom, magic potion and fire pumpkin left

Why do you want the pumpkun back - there should be one under the cauldron which you cannot take and you should have a firepumpkin in inventory

I have rat, bird, broom, potion, knife and sugar. I have no idea what to do next and I can't find the hotspot for the sugar to give to ants.

My game is bugged. Can't do anything with ants or mouse because hovering over it makes mouse act as though its hovering the Back area.
