sure, go to the names in the book, then go to google maps and search for that name.. if you did it right it will give you a location..view in street view and it will give you a name..enter that name without spaces and it will bring you to the next part.. that is as far as I am
This is not the right time of the day to play due to work. Here are some starting notes:
• All the information you need to start is in the book; read it fully.
• The bookmarks on top take you to the chapters in the book... the 'Diary' chapter has more pages; click on them to go through them.
• There, you will find 4 puzzles. You don't need to solve them right now since they are not 'stand-alone' puzzles, and they're to be solved until you find the other 'halves' (I think all of them are for the final puzzle with the bank safe).
• You will also find the clues (photo and map) to get to the first location/envelope.
• Google Maps (street view), wikipedia and one or two ciphers are needed to make it through the game.
Right now I'm a bit lost somewhere in the world looking for the 6th envelope. Hope to get the most help I can. This is a hard game, but very logical, challenging and absorbing. Good luck to everyone interested.
...and one more thing. I don't have a printer at home, so I've been saving the .pdf files in my USB stick to print them later on. My advise for the ones in the same situation is to do that as well.
@ Danielle .. what name did you use?
can you tell me if the part i got after the first location is still part of the first puzzle?
google the first name michel Roethel.. it will give you a location with a similar name.. google maps that name
@Enjoy, identify the photo. The location you need is not that, but the place where the green arrow points. Use google maps street view to go there and enter the name of the place in the bar to "go inside" and to get the first envelope.
@Danielle, in that first envelope there's 2 papers. The bigger one is one part (out of 9) of a jigsaw. The other one is the puzzle to solve to find the second location.
ok thanks, thats what I thought but I and having an issue with the numbers..do the colors have anything to do with the order or is it more of a placement thing...

I went to the street view and in that location is Micael Roethel... which is a jules verne library. am I on the right track? entering everything around that location but no luck
yes but you need to enter it exactly what you see on the building but with no space or no capitals
@Danielle, the colors are for you to figure out an order only.
@EnJoy, enter it in French, just as it is on the real location... and no spaces, of course.

The only thing I can think of is to put them in order by color but, that dark four is throwing me off, and the yellows and greens and, I guess all of it.

Getting a little tired of being told "You are wrong". :s
you need to put the numbers in order. color doesnt matter it just helps you see them better. start with the one on top and then go to the one on the bottom.. once you get the 14 numbers in the right order enter it...

the number starts with a 0 and the last number is the 5, there are 14 numbers total
I did it in paint. I just copied the photo and pasted it. then I picked a number and started, if it was above a number I place it before, it was behind I placed it after. I also colored the text so I knew what numbers I did. It was easier to start with the last number 5 and work my way up

Not really. I google mapped Phillip Barlow and Augusta GA came up. A medical campus. Maybe just a coincidence?

Not sure if it was on the right track, but I googled augusta 3 and did come up with Jerusalem, was thinking it was possible because the said worth the walk" I also came up with Augusta Victoria hospital in Jerusalem..none of it worked though!

@Danielle Well, what's been consistent is the medical. If I google map Phillip Barlow I get Wayne State University in Detroit. There is an Augusta MI but, that would be quite the walk. Don't know what the 3 is so, perhaps you're closer.
well, immediately when I heard Augusta 3 it made me think of the golf course in Georgia. Walking=golf?
Tried googling Augusta III and got ceiling fans. CLEARLY a dead end lol.
Ooh...you know, GA's is probably the most well known Augusta so, you could be onto something.

You've got an address by dialing a phone number. The number includes an international and an area code. Use that to know what city Augusta 3 belongs to.

You don't really need to go to street level. Just enter the address in the search bar and Google Maps will give you what business is there... and yes @EnJoy, it's a jewelry, but not the correct name.

@EnJoy, you need to read the stretched message in the note, so yes, image manipulation might be better... unless you can take a screenshot of it, print it and read it by leaning the paper in front of your eyes... kind of.
Now, this second envelope is the one Philip Barlow had for you. It includes the second part of the jigsaw and the hint for the next location.
Don't forget to print (or at least to save) all the parts of the puzzles to be used eventually in the game.

I'm looking at the diary page with those pieces on it right now and totally boggled. Also I clicked on a puzzle piece and it opened a pdf of the pieces. I wonder if that's necessary to use?

I got it! the translation at least!
The pigpen cipher gives you an address (the first line is a number, the second line is a street, and the third line is a city). find the business at that address and put it into the answer box.

you should get a number (in roman numerals), a street and a city.
it is an address. If you use the pigpen 2 cypher you will find a street and address. the address has to be converted from roman numerals

What we've got from Ralph Dalmagro is another piece of the jigsaw, the second part of Puzzle #3 and the puzzle/hint for the next location.
I was able to solve it after a very long while... got an address and a city, but for the life of me, I just can't get the right answer to move on! I've tried so many things now :(

Is the one I'm on a really obvious code that a more experienced riddler would know right away? Just asking b/c I've never heard of half the ciphers and things you all know. Learned a lot here.
No ciphers or decoder needed here. Only good observation I think (even when it took a while to see the way it was supposed to be solved)
Here's a starting hint for you: The 14 lines below suggests the hidden message is a 14-characters long one.

The letters should go on the lines below.
- The crossed A means there should be no A in between the O's.
- There are two O's [Ox2] and 2 I's [Ix2] (but one of the O's is actually a zero.
- There's also a number 3 in the message, two characters to the right of an I [I-2-3]
and some more obscure ones like
Paramo: A high, bleak plateau or district, with stunted trees, and cold, damp atmosphere, as in the Andes, in South America.
peludo: Argentine armadillo with six movable bands and hairy underparts
pernio: inflammation of the hands and feet caused by exposure to cold and moisture
None of which seem to help...at all.

It doesn't start with a P, but the letters/numbers ARE in order. I mean, the P 4 characters to the left of an O [P-4-O]; the G and the E are together [G-E]; there's a G to the left of the V, but we don't know how many characters away [V-?-G]

You should end up with an address (street and #) and a city.
I think I'm finally understanding. It's a sort of process of elimination? There is a p____o, there is a g and an e. There are 2 O's and no A's should go between them. There is an S and an N, etc... So if we can determine what letters/#s are in it we can simply follow the instructions on placement.
If I'm even looking at this right, @Edgar, let me know b/c I'm going to waste a lot of time if I'm not. lol
Okay, if one of our Os is a zero then we have a start because there are 3 spaces between the zero and the letter 0. In an address (a lot of the time) that would mean zero---O as the # would precede the st. name right?

I think our # is 30 but, with no A's in between zero and O there is no way to make that work b/c you need at least 3 spaces between them.
That would mean that the zero and the O would have to go between the 2nd and the 3rd A right? Only way not to have A's between them.

Our A's take up 12 letters alone, but it still can't start with a number because it would have a zero and then an A would HAVE to come between them. think think think

@EnJoy No. The G-E and the V-?-G are referring to the same G to narrow down where it goes in the address. It just means that V is somewhere to the left of G and E is to the right of it.

Maybe we will need the page with all of the numbers on it to put the puzzle pieces on it. So we get a number for the safe at the end????
@Ruff. you see the text box at the bottom of the diary? kinda like googles toolbar? well thats where you put your answers in and then click go. You need to use google and some brain power it seems to get the answers so you can move on. the first one go to google maps and type in the first name... you'll see the name of a place in street view. type it in as you see it without spaces, caps or punctuations..theres lots of clues up to to help too :)
Does Spain seem to work with all the rules?
