Hello!
Move the lights on the ceiling so that symbols appear on both the picture frames.
Click the books according to those symbols... but I can't find them all.
Got a part of a key from the lower part of the left cupboard (it opened when I pressed the right books).
Trying to do the same on the right one but those symbols are so small, I have a hard time pressing the right ones.
finally figured out symbols and books, now in second room
Ok got the right combination of books, and it gave me the second part of the key. Used the key on the box on top of desk, it gave me yet another key.
Used that second key on door and now I'm in second room.
Found a third key in the red flower pot and used it on the locked drawer in first room. Got a paper hint.

Used the paper hint to turn the wall pictures in the second room. It gave me a fourth key from the portrait close from the exit door. Used that key on the locked drawer in the second room. Got a yellow ball.
Ajt, how did you get to the second room? i got two key parts from the two drawers by pressing the books.
Used the yellow ball on the eye of the lamb chair (?!) in the first room and got the fifth and last key.
Used the key on the exit door... and out!

I see only four symbols and when pushed they do nothing. Can anyone give some real help here please?
evans, 11th and 16th book on the left and 8th and 12th on the right. (hope I counted it right)

Valerie, the symbols are really difficult. and I should have used spoiler alert. My bad. Am not yet used to helping others. I come here to seek help. and now for the pics some hints will do. the paper is not much of help

How on the left side do you get 16 books when there are only 12?

Books are left side 11 and 16. Right side 8 and 12. Pictures are group of 3 - 2 top ones - 1st - 3 clicks 2nd - 1 click bottom 1 click. Right picture 3 clicks. Go left and get key.
Again, how the heck do you see 16 books on the left side? I see 12 with dark spaces between them!
Left side - click fat yellow book with medical symbol and last book - bright pink with baloon looking thing

I've clicked the books and don't see a key? Or whatever it is I'm supposed to be seeing.
When you clicked the correct books (and you know it's correct when you can't click them anymore) a panel opens on the bottom left side of the bookcase (after doing the left books) and the same on the right side when you did the right books.
Thank you small-tool for your assistance but I am throwing in the towel. Seems I have monitor issues and all the dark areas that I'm assuming should be lighter, aren't. I had to click blindly to find that piece of the key.
I see Valerie is in her usual mood.

Click on Chandelier. Click on the two lower left candels, and the two lower right ones, they light on.
Go back, look at the left wall frame : two symbols are visible under the lights, remind them.
Go back and look at the opposite (right) book shelf; click on the two books showing these symbols. Go back, the bottom panel of this shelf opened, revealing a key part. Take it.
Do the same with the right wall frame and the left book shelf.
Click in your inventory on the first key part, it opens a popup; drag and drop the second part on the opened popup; it combines to create a key.
Click on it to put it into your inventory.
Look at the round box on the table. Use the key on the hole to open it.
Take the key inside, go back and look at the door. Open it with the key.
Look ath the right flower, there is another key.
Go back in the previous room, lok at the middle drawer and open it with the key.
Take the paper in the drawer, go again in the second room.
Look at the paper. Look at the first frame, click once to set it in the same position as shown on the paper. Look at the second frame and click seven times; and the two other ones : one time.
Go the the left in the third room, take the key.
Go back in the second room, look at the top right drawer and open it with this key.
Take the yellow ball, go back in the first room and look at the sheep chair on the right.
Put the ball in its eye, and take the key in its mouth.
Go again to the third room, look at the door, and open it.
