so far I have a bar of chocolate, a cup of ramen, and a yellow square. Bit of a language barrier

Girl doesn't seem to want any of the food. Can turn lights off but don't see anything extra...
and i'm lost

pretty stuck too. One of the things she says when you try to give her the chocolate includes 'Food' in English...

how did you open that cabinet?
it didnt open~i just clicked on it and a card appeared in inventory
used key by mat on floor and got a red piece of paper
if u click on the light spot on red paper a 3x3 grid comes up
if u remove the red paper the grid stays and u can place the red square back inside the blcoks on grid and make them yellow
can't seem to find pixel for swipe card...
and can't find key by computer! just grid in front of computer (key was by desktop, not laptop?)
i started a new game and yes it was desktop but i dont see it in the new game?
maybe things have to be done in order?
well that's a drag... I'll try one more time and see what happens...

well sorry for the confusion, but if i enter "food" on computer then click the cabinet the swip card appears

@larue, yes, entering 'food' allowed me to get swipe card... did that work for you @Puzzled?

Suddenly got it! Difficulty pressing enter? I think card was kind of under desk ...
@larue, any progress on the grid? I tried using red card to turn the 4 squares yellow in order shown on clue paper (from Ramen) but nothing seemed to happen?
Now trying to get the red card -- was the "mat" the bed under the window?

FYI, the game that I finally got the card was IE; still no card in FF.
are you sure @Puzzled? I got the red square more easily than most things... just used key on lock on left side of bed...

Use the red square to turn 4 of the squares yellow... the ones numbered on clue paper... not sure whether order mattered... I think that gave me crowbar but not sure...
I can put and remove it no more than 4 times...then it resets....
yes, that happened to me alot too... but I kept trying it... and to be honest, I tried various combinations of 4 squares and also the 4 from clue in different order and I didn't notice when crowbar appeared (or maybe crowbar unrelated... I still have red square and can still use grid... )

oh darn, thought it was swipecard to get out... my game seems buggy now, can't see anything in inventory and room keeps appearing and disappearing..
Escaped with the use of another English word ...hidden in the book!
so we just need the password for the door, none of read whatever language this is in, and we are all trapped here forever... Fortunately, the kittens are calling for their supper.

For "bigger" gaming fun (this came in stamp size here first), replace the .html in the original URL by .swf, loading it directly!
(Note: you have to "escape" (lol) the EG24 frame first by clicking the small 'x' on the upper right.)
HINT for the clue concealed in the red transparent card/plate/whatever you MUST be in the part of the room where the computer is. Otherwise, no light spot :) (not even a heavy one)
... ah and remember to turn lights off to get light spot!

WHen I try to leave the room through the door, I am asked to confirm (in Japanese) if I really want to leave.
This would not come up if you had found the "happy end", I'm sure about that.
@arbeitslooser, maybe you're right! It did seem odd we didn't have more interaction with the girl, and stuff on bed, though I guess she gave password for desktop..
