@Shaz - you need an actual candle, not the mini one next to the telephone. try clicking on the top shelf of the bookshelf.

i did i got a apple from the draw no thread after using key,i just wish people would say when they find things state where they found them it then wouldnt cause peole to keep say where how why lololol

after giving apple to owl you can get the key for thread drawyer

Walk through:
move rug, take matches
drag matches to middle of screen and click to light one.
click on lit match and light lamp in top left corner of first scene.
Click on blue book on top shelf of book shelf for candle.
Place candle next to rotary telephone on small table.
take key from candle smoke
use key on yellow dresser left drawer.
Take apple
give apple to Owl in second scene
take key from owl.
go back to first scene
use key in door of table with telephone
take thread.
go to second scene, click on umbrella until umbrella falls and you are left with handle.
take handle
Drag handle to middle of screen
drag thread to handle
Use strung handle on ring on left top corner of curtain.
click on thread, a shade will come down of a flower in a pot.
take key from pot (right side of stem)
return to first scene
click right
use key in key hole.
omg didnt see the pointer on one screen of the game going right and out
