got knife, wallet and piece of cloth

I got the knive, bullets, cloth and the file on Mary O. with a hint - but I cant cut the sofa!
Short but good! And every step makes sense!
Sofa is cut, but I can´t get that thingy
and no clue how to work the safe behind painting
I just get "I cant use knive on couch"???

Thingie already in inventory (hard to see)use knofe on it and get lightbulb with inscription?
removed lightbulb (exit-door-view) with cloth, iserted inscribed bulb and get a hint over exit door
opened safe with door code, got key that removes the metal bars in frot of door
Aaaa upper right of game view click half sun to lighten room a bit...
got safe open and grate ondoor down - but still not out!
where to use arrow hint ?
What to do with the arrow clue?
its a bit annoying to have the text come up in middle - it always takes another click
the arrow clue is for safe behind painting - start in middle
arrow-hint is for safe. start with the dot below the square.
Still can't get the thing from the couch - any help? I cut it OK, but can;t get any further.
we need a gun for the bullets or a key - I want out!!!

You can't use bullets on hat ..they are no fun .. LOL
Hmmm can replace special bulb with removed bulb???? Dont know if it means anything though?
Mary - have a look in your inv. the mysterybox is from sofa. if you have it, there´s no more to find in the sofa

Deb - have you found the safe behind the picture?
take the middle button then press the first down, then left/up, then down again and last go left.
4 buttons highlighted and safe opens
click the middle at the end (the square one)
Oh, i had to press the "reset" button.

raasti - I agree, hate these dark games. Have you clicked on the little half sun at top right, to brighten it as much as possible?
OH and I will add I couldnt zoom the game window either.......

yes, but those arrows on safe are not exactly in the same direction. confusing! moreover, how can be 4 buttons highlighted when you press the 'down' arrow twice. LOL!
twice? LOL check the clue again cos I drew my notes carelessly.. You only need to press 4 buttons in lower left section of safe puzzle. See Swiss comment above as well LOL
I think I did it by jumping lines... ie exact angles\matching dots... But cant remember now
hope a picture would work if someone could share it.

you can see a "Print Screen" or "PrtScr" button on your PC/laptop.
for pc, use Alt+PrintScreen and for laptop you can use FN+PrtScr buttons to get a snapshot.

Just start at square button LOL down then upper left then down then left...
Then click the square button back out and click safe...

Get the clue first... Look in wallet and look in correct file drawer LOL
Then click clue file a couple of times... Tells you which book
