Empty Asylum is a new escape game created by Selfdefiant for Melting-Mindz! You love exploring dark places and the empty asylum has always been hot on your list. You were finally talked into going in by your close friend. After a few moments of exploration you realize that your friend is nowhere to be found. It appears that you are all alone but the echoes of lost souls still haunt the halls of the asylum. Search around and see what you can find, and try to escape! Flashlight is way to the right of the room on a shelf - not too easy to see..
all I have left as clues are the pattern & the word FIN in the book...
5 gems - yellow, white, orange, blue & purple
and the 3 jade pieces

press each point in order - I think it was East, West, North, South for red gem
although may have been East, West, South, North....
Ugh.. Only 72 orbs and running back and forth is tring me out. Three more for a crystal
missing green gem I think - have scanned previous post but can't see any mention, although may have missed it!

Someone said early in comments...a white gem in the room with skeletal arm! I am missing a gem...cannot find a gem there! Anyone can direct me, please?

I have only 2 jade stones, including one from the book. And I don't find the green gem in V, nor the yellow gem in W.
Good idea Susan, I may wait a day or so and play again without any help/hints to see if I can find everything again

ok so I am confused, I need the GREEN key, and to get the GREEN key I need the WAND that is in Y, but that is blocked bc I need the GOLD key, which is in the BOOK in Q, blocked by needing the GREEN key, and the PURPLE key is in Y, but also blocked by needing the GOLD key?????? What am I over looking????
I could not get past the junk desk and the blue key and now my break time is over. :-(

for once I'd like to see 100% like on a Selfdefiant game. So I'm bad at math and had to peek on that clue, so what? These games are worth it! Topnotch thinking and he is always in the background to fix the bugs right then. Not like some of the other gamemakers who don't do anything for weeks or ever. This my favorite gamesite next to MeltingMindz. You go Self Defiant!!
I can't find enough orbs to buy the gun, having bought the map and room transporter. I can't move on as I only have 29 orbs left. Help!!

I just looked again at the comments before to go to bed. This game was too cool SD :) 5 stars from me....if only half of the games were that cute !
And yes, i imagine that you put a lot of work and time in making the games....and then they are solved this quickly. In any case when the bunch is playing together...but exactly this is so much fun.
Maybe you do think again one day about the other game, remember ? It is still in the drawer...unsolved. Maybe we can make a deal one day....

Absolutely stuck on the candles in S. Tried lighting them in the order written on the left window but that doesn't work. Any hints??
Finally got the star/candles puzzle.
Click in this order:
1. bottom left
2. top
3. left
4. right
5. bottom right

Phew! Out after startng again and buying the gun first. There's no way I could have finished without the amazing walkthrough, especially the math clues. Off on holiday now to Sri Lanka - looking forward to more games when I return!

Rostgen key in anfang Zimmer, dass ist die Zimmer H mit zwei weisse ture. Die linker hast du schon probiert und ist den mit jade Eiern. Die andere ist geschlossen und offnet mit rostgen key. Dah kann man die map kaufen. Aber die hast du schon?
Tring a ling: no way am I starting again :-). But good on you. Shame about being able to buy things you shouldn't buy first.

I've seen several post this, and now I am also. I bought the map and the globe before trying to buy the gun. There's no way to continue with the game once that's done, because you need the gun to get into more rooms, but you need more orbs to get the gun.
I'm not starting over...please fix.
I will lower the price of the map, thanks!!
@SD, there's no need to lower the price - 50 Orbs was fine. I played yesterday and got through it without any problem.

Turn left to 16 and stop. Again turn left to 16 (passing zero) and stop. And again turn to 16 and stop. Now, turn to the right to 9 and stop. And again turn to the right to 9 and stop. At last, turn to the left to numbeer 2 and stop. Open safe. Search on youtube if you don't know how to open dial safe.

Lowering the map price doesn't help when you've already bought it. Gun still costs 50 and I got 20 and no way am I going to find the additional 30 orbs.
What should've been done was to disable buying the crystal before getting the gun. I'm a lazy player and not really into guns so no way would I have bought the gun first.

How do you "Place" the gems?
One of THE most involved escape games I've ever played! Just finished... was VERY frustrated 'til I realized what the gems are for. :D Thanks for this, even if it drove me nuts, lol!

Figured out everything until the very end, didn't just look at the walls for the Gem placement! Very clever and fun :) Ever tried taking pictures at the Ladd School in RI? Creepiest one I've seen yet....
Cant find blue key anywhere.... help?
I am also miffed about problem with gun and orbs because I cannot complete the game no matter what :( It sounds like a challenging game but there is the problem of the number of orbs needed to buy things. If you are starting now, do not buy orb before you buy the gun. What a pity!
