Yay, Im first

got 1 and 2, but since I don't know many sports names, the rebus puzzles are a problem. I found someone who makes sense for level 3, but doesn't work :(

Im stuck on 3 as well :(

WaterCars dosent make sense

another name for a whirlpool and plural of that car (note the list on the home page!)

Thx jon!

For 3:
1st pic = 1st name, 2nd pic = star brand

For level 3, it's a short name for the first pic, and a different spelling for the second pic. The person is a cyclist.

Thanks on 6 now :P

thanks @clio :)

Hmm, what's Lvl. 4? Thought it was a heavyweight boxer, but no?

       Anonymous  3/30/13, 7:20 AM

Rudi,
take the whole veggie.

       Anonymous  3/30/13, 7:21 AM

Clever 7!

YAY I did it :P

certainly helps to read the home page, eh? :)
Trying to get something on level 8 ...

Premiere, that would make it g.....nc...c.b? doesn't work for me, and I don't know any athlet by this name. I'm not a natural speaker, so it might be a language barrier.

For * I just looked up the name of the Character and searched it on the page Jon refenerced http://ivansmith.co.uk/?page_id=475

thats a hint for 8 up there

Rudi, for that one. Second pic is a ??? of corn. First pic is a tie, but spelled differently. Chap was a baseball player.

       Anonymous  3/30/13, 7:30 AM

Rudi,
ditto here with «English is not my 1st language»...
Just cloth (pic name a bit confusing IMHO) & 2nd veggie part.

Btw: Ctrl+F on Greatest Site helps a lot (at least me LOL)

Thanks, Clio, got it now, was misled by the title of the 1st pic, thougt it was Griffin Corn.

for 8, I can't find that name on the list

       Anonymous  3/30/13, 7:35 AM

annaby,
it's in the text.

Oh 8 is sneaky!

The name we're led to for 8 is not the name the person is popularly know by - try ctrl F to look for the first name.

thanks @prem - I'll go read

       Anonymous  3/30/13, 7:38 AM

hm - city at 9 has loads of nicknames...

on 9 also

       Anonymous  3/30/13, 7:46 AM

Great acrobats, those players...!
;-D

Premiere, is that a clue for 9?

hey im here to eat your minds people ..;)

       Anonymous  3/30/13, 7:51 AM

Nope, clodagh,
just a comment about the congrats vid...!

       Anonymous  3/30/13, 7:52 AM

LOL, raasti,
way better than shorts...!
;-P

On 9 the bottom two pics together are a nickname (for a gun).

a hint for 9 please?

Hope I get to see that congrats vid soon! Don't recognise anything except the actor and the typewriter.

Ah, made it! Nine was easy after disregarding the pics :-)

       Anonymous  3/30/13, 7:55 AM

ditto here, Rudi,
;-D

Thanks s-t - never heard of that nickname before

Well, I've got the name of the gun, thanks to small-tool's hint, but that's it.

lol - you can google anything!

       Anonymous  3/30/13, 7:57 AM

Made my life easier for 9 by focusing only on text...
;-D

Oh - got it at last! The answer's not the nickname but the real name!

and done - Thanks jon!

Great acrobats indeed Premiere!

ok i stuck on 2 as usual .........its anagram of marinda i think but cant get the name ...

@raasti - 3 word anagram

Raasti, it's a bit more than just the marinade, it's a good marinade...

A good marinade. I would visit graanma, raasti. Hi btw...long time no see. x x

ohh itried this name ..but i think my spelling was wrong ..

hey rose .........

       Anonymous  3/30/13, 8:20 AM

Lost on 6... I have W from S and a C------ I try to visite granny nothing works. Even google don't answer O.o

for lvl4 ..its a picof tie & ..corn or maize but dont got the name ...

Stuck at 7, hint please?

       Anonymous  3/30/13, 8:22 AM

Raasti say out loud it's not corn or maize but a corn in a ___ then say out loud (it's a rebus)

raasti, tie is spelled differently, and its a part of that corn.... list that jon gave is a big help btw....

       Anonymous  3/30/13, 8:24 AM

I already answered... a C-----r or is it a synonym?

       Anonymous  3/30/13, 8:25 AM

Nevermind got it :)

e.g......for 6, you have the first character right. The second pic, there is a more general term for his trade. Chap was a jockey.

Raasti..lvl 4: First pic is a tie, but different spelling, second pic, you eat a ??? of corn.

Janet, lvl 7 ...First pic is previous name of Australian landmark..just use first 3(?) letters. Second pic is of a weight, and third pic is of the dye used on hand designs. Somehow..if you put it all together in your head..it makes the name of a very famous (and totally super-cute) deceased F1 driver.

thnx clio!!

i cant believe it i gott 6 without even reading any post .

CONGRATS RAASTI!!! x x I know how you feel, when you get one on your own. YAYYYYY.

now stuck on 9..... can't come up with that name of a gun..... and what has bruce got to do with it???

Janet, there are two ways to solve this one: 1) disregard the pics and work with the text only (visit Granmaa), 2) with the pics: what is encircled? a d.., what's the name of the character? The third and fourth pic give the nickname of a gun. The person you are looking for is a former decathlete.

ok again i cant get the 8 .....

raasti...lvl 8. Google image first pic..and then use second word on second pic. Google them both together and you will come up with his nickname. He was a famous ex soccer player and then coach.

Raasti, have a look here:http://ivansmith.co.uk/?page_id=475 and search for the first name of the character on the left. Then use the nickname.

whoohooooooohhhh got it!!! :-D

hahhaha. That was a wonderful 'got it' Janet! Made me burst out laughing. Congratulations !!

still cant get it the cartoon character is arthur ..no sports person name start with arthur

Raasti, did you read my post from 09:08AM?

yes i did

raasti. arthur is correct. Then you need second pic name. Use the second word on the flag, and then google it together with arthur. You should (fingers crossed) get a soccer player. You need his nickname.

ohh..i dont mean you need the name of the 2nd pic. Just use the second word on the flag on the 2nd pic.

if you are still stuck raasti, then may i suggest using jonthewatch link on the home page? I reckon you might find your answer at..oh dear.i have a chest cold so...scuse me...coughcoughhackhacknumber50coughcough..

       Anonymous  3/30/13, 9:35 AM

Wow - way too many clues for number 9. Stumped by pictures but anagram was straightforward way to get same answer. Any Brits out there - he was an olympic hero/heartthrob from the past. <3

       Anonymous  3/30/13, 9:36 AM

Raasti - 3rd word if you include 'de'.

will play try later ..i still not getting it ..anyway thanks for all hints

       Anonymous  3/30/13, 9:39 AM

Great goal celebrations!

ohh THANX ROSE ..your cough hint worked for me :)

raasti. Dont give up. I promnise, you will get it. Check the sportsman no. 50 on jons link. heehhehehe. (im ever so grateful that jonthewatch doesnt mind us cheating..hehehehehhehe)

yippee now onto 9 trying hard to work it out
thanks for the hints guys they have been great :)

and all done
big thanks guys
thanks Jon
love these quizzes :)

Agreed smarties. I reckon no. 9 was a super cutie too.
Raasti, knowing English isnt your first language, i will give you a mini hint. First pic, forget the number, it is merely a ??? of the week...and i dont mean a specific one..just a normal ???. Second pic, use his surname. Third and fourth pic.no idea. Dont think i needed em. With first name, i got the answer. However, having this rotten chest infection may i coughcoughhackhacknumber60coughcough suggest going to jons link?

ok thanx rose & all other for hints .....finally finished ...for me its not the weakend quiz its an yearly quiz for me ..:0

Congratulations Raasti. See you again soon, I hope. x x

thank you Jon!

Woo hoo! I did it and in record time for me. On #9, it might have helped that I'm in Chicago right now and had gangsters and such on the mind. :-)

Thank you Jon !!!enjoyed it very much as always
and the list !!!! very helpful !! LOL
and ... i loved the congrats vid !! in the theme and funny !!

Started this one thinking I would never get anywhere as I don't follow sports but got clear to Level 9 before I needed to read the hints. I've never heard of the gun clue. Thanks so much Jon!
