I have matchbox, sort of stick (used on grey bowl but nothing happens) and light encense stick

and stuck!

found ! put lighted incense in green bowl and use big stick on grey bowl for a ghost

ghost wants to go in the garden !

combine 2 hints music note for drawer

hint japanese inscription in drawer for red box on shelf
and use hint poster (I suppose pochi means push)
push near & for a button

Where did you get the matchbox?

Nevermind, the answer was staring me in the face.

matchbox is in mouse cat cb (key in red safe beneath)

I don't get the 'count symbols in big cb for # code'
I see some symbols/shapes but don't see an order.

BBB my comment 7.42 (you need to see order on closed window with light on)

The order for the symbols in the big cb came from a separate clue BBB. Can't remember where from I'm afraid.

I'm not getting the symbols for the red box from the clue in the drawer. Am I being particularly dumb?

NVM Got the symbols now. Did the outside two which were clear enough and BFd the middle two.

Methanwy,for code red box look carefully at some parts in each symbol
ie 1st is sort of 4 vertically colums (like bottom of 1st symbol in drawer)
2nd is a sort of T with 2 "legs" (like top of 2nd symbol in drawer)

I kind of used the bottom parts of the Japanese characters to open the red box.

A hard one this time! Thanks for the "letters on buttons" hint, I could never in zillion years figure it out. And probably the first time a language barrier in these games, I'm quite sure that the solution was not to take some parts from the kanji characters in the drawer. These characters mean something.

Great for exception of "pochi" hint...
