Language Barrier Alert!

12 numbers might refer to clock times, months, or Japanese zodiac. I think the samurai fellow is a dog, next year's animal, #11. Just thinking so far, haven't figured out a code yet.

Indeed huge language barrier. I can only learn from WT.

The hint said what the guard is looking. He is facing west --> 西向く侍 --> にしむく 士 --> 二 四 六 九 十一 (士 is 十 and 一 )

Thank you tautau! Those #s give axe; smash barrel, get key; opens door and ends the game. Still don't understand why!
