how to defeat the gorilla?

to defeat the gorilla, you need something sticky.

to get something sticky, you need to have defeated the fly and Nessie

the trap for the fly consists of 2 parts and then bow/arrow (it took me a good few attempts to get the arrow to shoot in the right place)
