now you can access the computer.
later on you are asked to find out the password for accessing the db-site. you can find this password when you look at the highscorelist of the meteorgame (password = cptnSheriff)

ReplyDeleteWait a minute, I figured it out. It is "waltb", as in "B", not "walt6" like I thought.
ReplyDeleteGood Game! Sort of confusing at first, for those who were like me, here's the complete walkthrough:
ReplyDelete1. Open desk middle drawer (only one that will open), then click on the gun and it will move revealing a note. Write down the username and password (needed for later)
2. Click on your computer, here it will ask you for your username and password (the one's on the note from the desk)
3. Type in the username and password and you will see the desktop of the computer
4. Double click on the "Messenger" icon and a short video will play saying that you have completed a challenge
5. Now click back on your computer and double click on the "Messenger" icon again. A window will open. Sheriff Anna Turner will be talking to you, she will tell you what to do
6. Click on the "Emailer" icon and a window will pop up. (make sure you are viewing the admin@sheriffdb.county.gov email)
7. Now highlight and copy the url address in the first sentence of the email, (just move the window over to the right side of the screen because you'll need it later)
8. Next, double click on the "Browser" icon on the desktop and wait for the window to pop up. When it does, highlight the url address at the top and right click, then choose paste (this will now insert the url from the email)
9. Now press enter or click the GO button at the top of the screen and a new website should be there asking you for a username and password
10. Here's where you need to go back to the orignal email, if you keep on reading down, it will tell you a username and password. The username will work but the password won't, that's because the password has been changed. You need to go back to the desktop and double click on the "Meteors" icon and look at the top score, the person who got this score is the password. But for those who are too lazy to do this the password is *cptnSheriff*
11. Now there will be another video clip, just click continue and go back to the computer. (You have to go back onto the website you were on before the video) Just repeat steps 8-10
12. Here's where you click continue and a new window should be there. Click on where it says "Tuesday Notes" and it should tell you about the storage facility
13. Next, close all the windows you have open (except for the the actual game) and stay on the desktop. Double click on "Messenger" again. Anna will talk to you some more then leave.
14. After Anna leaves, look at the left of the Messenger screen, and click on {Deputy Roscoe} the very last name
15. Near the bottom of the messenger screen, click in the white box and type in "go to the Storage Facility". He will reply and end up saying he needs the combination, well now you need to look back where the names are on the left side of the screen, and look for {Johnny Smith}, click on him.
16. He will ask you if he can help, type in "Combination" and he will reply
17. It will now go to the last video and THERE! you're done.
GOOD JOB.. you were almost able to do it yourselves :)

ReplyDeleteFor those stuck with the external hard drive, you should check the emailer, go to "deleted items" and finally, "Sergei Romanov".

If you look in the External HD archives you will find a photo with a note, in the bottom of the note it´s written: "chacoranger12"

I am trying to enter the name of the person who you are supposed to talk to on Messenger to find out what to do on the encrypted page. I keep putting the name in the messenger but it won't do anything. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong??
