Found a few things though, sledgehammer, pick, key, magnifying glass, matches, and a couple pieces of paper. I used the key to open a door. The sledgehammer and pick I used too but didn't get anything new out of it.

Besides the room with the elevator and the labyrinth, have you used the flashlight in any other rooms? As I recall there were maybe 2 more places where the flashlight was your source of light? Kind of cave like and looked underground. Could possibly be in one of those.

ReplyDeleteI wonder if the door with the 3 handles has a different way to unlock for everyone. Mine was top: one click up, middle: one click down, bottom: 2 clicks down. You can find a piece of paper that shows you the positioning of the handles.

ReplyDeleteWell the door with the 3 handles was giving me trouble because it wasn't resetting to default position. However, all handles start in the furthest downward position. Tosca's pattern worked for mine after I did that. But...it took to somewhere I've already been! Bummer...

I did the maze and it didn't really bring me to anything special. You get out and see London, and then when you click on it, it brings you back to the main screen. The pick just helps you pick away new paths that may bring you to the end.

I never "finished" the game or got any sort of ending. I'm sure I've visited all I could, all of my items have been used, etc. I even revisited that damn labyrinth to see if there were any objects hiding there, but couldn't seem to find any. My inventory is full and I can't find any more locked areas...I'm sure I'm missing something but just can't seem to find it.

ReplyDelete@lulu: coin at the railwaystation. If I remember wel. But you have to do some things in order, otherwise you cant get it. Best thing to do, is go around and always searching in the screen for new opportunities. A lot of work.

WOW...!!! This is a cool game! Myst-like graphics/ambience mixed with RHEM...oh heck, just any Myst-like game LOL! So far have found lamp, 2 keys, axe or pick, several pieces of paper; still haven't found magnifying glass or matches. I don't know if I need to visit another location first, but at the metro station, I wasn't able to pick up 2 items. The hand made the "pick-up" movement, but the items just bounced around! Guess I'll need to backtrack...I'm just having fun wandering around :) Diana...at the metro station, am I supposed to find/do something first before I can pick up items? Thanks for all our posts...they are a huge help!

ReplyDeleteThis game is pretty cool...very nice graphics and atmosphere. Can someone please tell me where the magnifying glass is though? That is the one item I'm missing. I think I'm also short about two pages from the diary but oh well. I wasn't able to make it through the labyrinth. It was just waaaay too annoying what with the funky movement system and the horrible lighting that makes you half blind and the pits that open beneath you and make you start over. No thanks, I'll pass on that, haha. So no one has seen an actual ending to this game then?

That's the magnifying glass. It helps you read the map that is in the top row left of your inventory. I used it on the map, and it just shows some of the locations you've visited. I didn't seem to get anything new from it.

ReplyDeletecat3...you will find the mag glass in Kolonia (where the men in black go from door to door); it is to the left of the house that needs a key to open door. So far, I have 2keys, mag glass, coin(can be found in the area where the flying mushrooms are; cross bridge & enter door...you are in area w/ train tracks; coin falls on left track), pick, hammer, several pages, matches & lamp. missing 2 items - top left box & bottom (2nd from left) I've been exploring all over the place...can't find valve room, museum with clocks that change places is a bit confusing....HELP! Anybody...please?! Sorry for the "verbose" post, but I'm going in circles. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks everybody!

ReplyDeleteYou can finish the game once you get through the maze and have gotten all 3 keys. If you have gone to the old lady's house,light the lanterns and open your map. Use your magnifying glass and find the spot near the top right that says "Far North" . click on that with your mag glass anad then click on the "star" symbol for NSEW and you are out.

@Goldilox .. I have gone through the lybrinth and also have gobe to old lady's house and have set the lanterns on. Opened the MAP. I could not find anything as FAR north. Note I have all the three keys. Maybe there is a spot I have not been to. Where that could be? i have cylced through all the spots I have been to but there is nothing useful i could find or nothing I have not touched yet.

ReplyDeleteyup all three spots on the west of the main town where the old trashed car is has been checked. One in the field, One above the old trashed car and on to the right of the car in the building which gives you access to lift.
ReplyDeleteThere are two spots where the old lady house is. One on the right of the house and one on the left of the house. Right one takes you to a big door which I clicked and now is open and also used the hammer on the statue to the left and the roof pointed rock . Nothings happens after that , except I can click on a spot that makes a wierd sound.
the left spot from the old lay house I think takes you to the bridge and then to the strange statues and then to the train track where i found the gold coin but could not use it anywhere as yet.
There is a door in the main town which takes you to the train station. Only fast moving trains pass by occasionaly. There was some red object on the box right on the other side of the platform. I click that object and it started fumbling out of the hand. I keept on trying to get it and eventually it reached the end of the platform and then nothing.
Maybe if we can list all the spots you can go to then It will be easier to know which one I have missed. Though I seriousaly doubt I missed any spot except maybe did not complete a certain task?
Hey Coolmon22...I'm still playing this game; I have all inventory items, lit lamps in the old lady's house and now am getting ready to tackle the labyrinth. Glad I have a map that will jump to all areas...I think I've been to every area so if I come across anything that you, Diana and anyone else, may have missed, I will definitely post! I just don't think we've missed anything though...one never knows! I remember where I got all inventory items but haven't found a place to use the coin yet. Maybe coin has some other use?? Anyway...on to the labyrinth. Will keep all updated.

ReplyDeleteI am getting a migraine trying to get through this maze...I get to the second map without any problem, but after that I seem to go in circles and end up in the doctors chamber only to start over again! I thought I was following what I saw on the map but I can't seem to progress. Would someone give me a push in the right direction, please? I have all items in inventory but this maze is proving to be the most difficult part of this game.

Hi Cheakie1: You can move in the maze by using the directional arrows on your keyboard; also, watch for areas the pickaxe can be used on...there are several. Also, you can pick up maps along the way that show you where you are. The pick will automatically show on the screen when you come to an area you can chip away at! As Lulu stated, the light is horrible and my cursor was spastic!!! Did you find your last key? I think it was in the valve room, or the dark cave area where you activated the lever. I managed to get to the top of the maze, but I can't seem to get out completely. I'm so frustrated right now I think I'm going to give my brain a rest and come back to it later. When you get out, let me know ... I'm tired of getting kicked out of the maze just when I'm at the top........argh!
ReplyDelete@irishenigma... When you go to the top of the maze look for 2 light poles and go through them. They are identical to the light poles when you start the Maze. This will take you to the exit of the tunnels. to go to top you have to first go to extreme right and then go up 2 tunnels i think and then turn left and then at the end turn up and then left again. You will see the two tiny light poles. Go through them. When you get the MAP in the tunnel look for the path to go to TOP where you see the gears symbol.

I did notice there are only 3 clocks that change places each time you click the cabinet door. I tried to click only the ones that moved but no luck there. Nothing happens. I have looked everywhere for the new spots to enter but no luck. I have been to all the places again and again but can find the FAR North on the map.

The room with chair and two monks standing infront of the table. When you click the switch board of some sort the purple light comes out of the lamp and dance around a bit and returns to the lamp?
This room entrance is on the right in the tunnel with the bucket on the floor and the far end of the tunnel takes you to the elevator.
Good morning Coolmon: I call the room with the stone henge look (where you can click on one of the stone tablets and strange symbol-like writing appears) the "doc's chamber"! The door on the far right lands you in the infamous maze and that was the room I kept landing in!! I am going back to every area in this game to try to make certain I haven't missed anything...! My inventory is full and, with your invaluable help, I completed the maze; but when I follow Goldilox' instructions about escaping the game, I only find a place on the map that says "The Great North"...when I click on the NSEW star it just takes me back to the town screen at the beginning. I looked very carefully on the map with the mag glass, but didn't see "Far North", only "Great North"...I have this feeling that the answer is staring us in the face but for some reason we aren't seeing what it is!!!!! I am also wondering if there really is a use for the coin but we just haven't found it yet. I agree with you...I am wondering if there is a task I might have missed along the way! If anything jumps out at me, I'll let you know asap! Goldilox made escaping seem so simple LOL!!!!

@ lau...I believe the 3rd key can be found by going through the dark cave area; to reach that area go to the edge of town & click on door just above the truck in dirt. This area is a bit beyond the well where you found the axe. In the cave the light is dim but you can make out a lever; the cursor will allow you to activate the lever and another door will be available to go through. This will take you to the valve room and the key should be in that area. Now you can open the house in Kolonia, light the lamps and pick up the map in the old lady's house. If you find a way to escape let us know!!!!! First you have to go through the maze but I am at an impasse...:( I have all 3keys and a full inventory but can't seem to leave....argh! A fresh pair of eyes might help! Good luck with the maze!

ReplyDeleteguys, this is my favourite book so if you want to know anything about what is what in the game just ask. I've been playing this for a time, but it doens't make sense. In the end of the book, the main character Will and his brother throw themselves into a train (the train that appears on the 'pociąg górników') and you can see someone falling. But what doesn't make sense is that Will and his brother go underground again and not to Highfield. Another strange thing is that if you go to the multimedia zone, there are wallpapers for each place of the game, but I haven't seen two of them: the one after the one that says TUNELE, where you can see a train and the 15th one where you see three tunnels, with a guy in one of them. Anyone went there already?
