I know this is way after the fact, but I think the way to find # for the + has to do with the 0224 page of the book. If you count the # of squares in the first rectangle diagram you'll notice there aren't any. In the second there are 2, the third there are 4, and the last has 4 also. Or 0224. So I think that you have to look at the picture on the wall and count the number of squares in it to find the +. Though I've only counted 6.

Go round to the cactus and get KEY left side. Use key to open cabinet top drawer and get MAGNIFYING GLASS and note the triangle.
Look under the table with the fishbowl and see diagram and where to get next clue.
Go to the corner by the picture and using magnifying glass click the skirting board in the corner. We need to find circle, triangle, cross and rectangle.
Now click the bottom rail of the big window towards the right and click switch. Now go to the right side of the window and clicking about halfway down on the right open the door and get the STOOL. Place the stool by the right side of the cactus.
Click the right side of the small window and see a paper with a diagram. Back to view of window sill and paper and click upper left to view a handle...we will get back later.
Go to view of door and click the floor at the bottom of the screen in the centre to view coffee table. Look at book and diagrams, make note of the front page with the 0244 diagram...that is the number of "+".
Click the table top for the PEN. Go to the painting and count the number of "+" for the code. Also click the left orange square and see hole in frame. Use pen in hole and prongs emerge from the right side of the frame.
Looking the the bottom drawer of the cabinet, we need the four numbers circle, triangle, cross and rectangle. While we are looking at the code box, click the top left side by the cabinet and get a SPOON.
Use spoon in fish bowl and get a coin - circle number. Go to the small window and click the right side and then the top left and use the coin to get the HANDLE.
Enter code in drawer (see comment 111 on first page) and get GLOVE. Go to the cactus and click the left side of the pot to zoom and using glove click the 'button' on the right side. Zoom out and clicking on the cactus just above the arm the top comes off revealing a KEY.
Go to the painting and put the handle on the side by clicking between the prongs. Open painting and press the button and click the top left corner of door and see keyhole. Use key. Close painting and get the SECURITY CARD, now revealed and use on door and exit....
