hmm . . . now that i think about it, it's interesting that there are 4 dots on the ghost. . . one of the ways to read 4, "shi," also sounds like the word for death. . .
ReplyDeleteno worries, I'm not a native Texan - Georgia Tech grad. I root for the Sooners just to terrorize the Longhorns and Aggies.
ReplyDeleteHow are you so good at Japanese?
LOL, that's great! I was born in Georgia, actually. Fort Gordon. :) (Augusta)
ReplyDeleteEver heard of Stone Mountain, GA? That's my real home.
ReplyDeleteWhat about the Japanese?
which japanese?
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah, i've heard of Stone Mountain (the monument, not a town). I DID get through that rockbiters door in Doorcracker. :P But I also studied it for Academic Decathlon when we studied the American Civil War.
oh yeah, I remember that door - it was no problem for someone who has climbed that mountain a thousand times, lol
ReplyDeletehow do you understand the Japanese language so well?
i'm actually minoring in it. a game with harder japanese would be a problem, but this is fairly simple japanese so far.
ReplyDeleteimpressive - i can handle spanish but not japanese.
ReplyDeleteMeanwhile, I thought I might be on to something - according to wiki, the killer in the movie "Scream" is named "Ghostface", so I was thinking clock (face), ghost, scream ... but it did not work
the character was actually inspired by Munch's "The Scream" ...
ReplyDeletehmm . . . it's possible that the apple is just a distraction or a kind of signature. . . give me a bit to play with an idea or two.
ReplyDeletethat didn't work. . . this shouldn't be that hard, should it?
ReplyDeleteno, it shouldn't - how many games like this have you played where there was only one view with no zooming? it seems that something is missing from the game
ReplyDeletewell, I'm going to have to call it a night - I'm taking my nephew to breakfast in the morning - sweet dreams, trisana - and good luck
ReplyDeletebut other people say it's an easy escape. . . on other sites that is. but you're right, it IS odd.
ReplyDeletea simple word pun game. Of course, in Japanese.
ReplyDeleteこ=小=small
わい=Y
so こわい = small Y = y (in lower case).
oh, thanks Xenon! I didn't know that was a reading for 小 - I only know 小さい. :) You rule. but wai, yeah, that makes sense. ありがとうござます!
ReplyDeleteThe I-can't-believe-I-spent-so-much-time-on-this-through.
ReplyDeletePoke around. Click everything. notice the only thing anything will say is "こわい" in some form.
Chat with everyone else who's stuck for hours, have Ellie give everyone a solvable (in English) riddle. Laugh about how many comments there are for a game that you can't do anything in. Wonder if it's bugged, or if they forgot navigation arrows. Look at other sites using bablefish or google translator, notice that either others are stuck or they say it's a 10-second escape.
Have Xenon come in and explain that "こ" is another way to say "小," or little/small, and that "わい" is pronounced "why" (y). realize that it is a one letter answer you could have brute forced HOURS ago, and that you learned something new today. Enter SPOILERSySPOILERS (case DOES matter), and click on the door.
YAY! You're out! Because Xe is AMAZING! :D
Good morning, I see that Xenon has come to the rescue once again.
ReplyDeleteWhat fools we must look!!!
Nice W/T Tris : )
Good morning, just turned on the pc, and first thing to do was checking this game. and Wow its solved, wasnt really expecting that. I guess it wasnt possible for me to finish it, as i cant read Japanese.
ReplyDeleteBut i should say it was worth staying here chating :)
Rambler - not fools, けど日本語お話しません (but we don't speak Japanese - tho i'm sure trying to learn. :D)
ReplyDeleteBut thanks. I was hoping for a bit of a laugh.
Thanks @Xenon!! Lol, it feels like such a relief to know the answer and finally be able to escape :) It really was a 10 seconds game haha. Nice game commentwise at least. Thanks for the WT @Tris :D
ReplyDeleteWow...I never would have figured it out anyway. Thanks Xenon! Even in the explanations all I see are little squares. Oh well. Fun trying. :)
ReplyDeleteand out in bout 5 seconds lol
ReplyDeletewith thanx to xenon of course
ReplyDeleteJust woke up....wow. It WAS a joke! But why ( no pun intended) :D
ReplyDeleteNo logic English-wise whatsoever for this one! Language was the ultimate barrier!
ReplyDeleteBut I had fun! Thanks for all the input!
I just tuned back in to the madness - after reading the solution, my "why" is not "small" - WHY did I waste som nuch time on that?
ReplyDeleteseeing this game had so many comments i was saving it for when i had a bit of free time. i was wrong, lol
ReplyDeletesmall Y = y (en minuscule
ReplyDeleteSo, enter the door code to the left of the door and click on the blue button. A red circle appears at the bottom right. Go back, click on the door.
FINISHED!
i think we have to think like the game concentration, everything together makes a phrase..ya think?
ReplyDeleteIve tried the codes in both english and Japanese script and nothing is working ... its crazy difficult but crazy "easy" at the same time >:(
ReplyDeleteugh .. .that was crazy difficult but not so difficult ... I never considered mixing Japanese and English .. :)
ReplyDeleteツリサナー様、私も日本語終業です!難しいですね!
頑張って! :)
First of all, notice that no matter what you click on, the message is some variation of "こわい", meaning "scary". But is that the code? Of course not!
ReplyDeleteAfter everyone on eg24 spent hours struggling to figure it out, Xenon finally managed to find the solution:
a simple word pun game. Of course, in Japanese.
こ=小=small
わい=Y
so こわい = small Y = y (in lower case).
so the code is just: Y
And that's it. A one-letter password, and you're out. Whoopee.
terrible game if you don't read/speak Japanese (that I didn't play because of all the complaints)
ReplyDeleteBut fantastic comments. And Xenon continues to rule when it comes to escape games. You are just amazing!
4 the one who still didn't get it,the answer is y(lc)..hehe..:D
