  37. 13-6-15-7 gave me something really wierd. Like a plant

    ReplyDelete
  47. I'm stuck because of a glitch. According to the walkthrough, I should be able to throw the main power switch if I have the flashlight, which I do, but I still can't throw the switch. Starting again.

    ReplyDelete

  49. use the anagram in the computer

    ReplyDelete
  50. there are just too many possible color combos to brute force. Tried using the colors of the powders on the counter (blue, yellow, darker blue? pink) but got nowhere.

    ReplyDelete
  51. There is a clue for the colors in the computer, but cant figure it out yet.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Yup... it's beyond me Zoz, my son and I have tried I don't know how many

    ReplyDelete
  53. the combination should be the one from the computer hint.. but still difficult to get the colours right

    ReplyDelete
  54. has anyone used the gloves or been able to pick up the flashlight? I'm thinking gmm is right about the glitch...

    ReplyDelete
  55. i have flashlight, but cannot throw switch...?

    ReplyDelete
  56. maryd02893 - I had the same problem. Had to restart the game and was able to do it the second time through. For anyone having trouble with the beaker colors, it's light pink/olive(top row)/fuschia/light blue.

    ReplyDelete
  57. OMG got it! It begins w/ light pink then dark pink ,etc... follow the arrows

    ReplyDelete
  58. Navigation is wierd! Cannot find computer anymore.

  59. ok... i can't get the color code... I know I'm not stupid, but this is hell

    ReplyDelete
  60. *SPOVIOLETOLIVEMAGENTAMINTILER* I t will say you have the right combination when it is correct

    ReplyDelete
  61. If you want to go by numbers then it is

can't check but I am pretty sure that is the combo

    ReplyDelete
  62. wow, thanks so much @gmm! but where the heck did the light blue come from?

    ReplyDelete
  68. Is the code for Chemical Store 915727?

    ReplyDelete
  75. the keys are lying over there after using the antidote

    ReplyDelete
  76. I cannot turn the switch off :(

    ReplyDelete
  77. There's a walkthrough link in the game. The color clue on the laptop is terrible.

On a separate note, does anyone else ever have trouble posting comments here? For me sometimes they go right through, sometimes I have to keep logging in over and over, and sometimes I can't do it at all.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I guess I`m the only one that could not open the door using correct code????!!!

    I give up.

    ReplyDelete
  79. i use a google account and seems to go right through without problems

    ReplyDelete
  80. gmm such thing never happened to me. Wierd indeed.

    ReplyDelete
  81. I use google too. I'm already logged in, but when I try to comment, it takes me to another screen to log in. So, I log back in, with the same account I'm already logged in with, then I'm finally able to comment. Today I'm having to do it every single time.

  82. Hints:

    First room
    - you need 4 pieces of metal to make the key and get out

Room with out of control plant:
-on the floor is a letter giving you a clue to the laptop (right side on floor)
-the map gives dates and states which is half the lab door clue
-the table of elements gives you the rest of the lab door clue
-once the plant is killed, use the gloves to get the key (hotspot just above the skeleton's head)

    Bathroom:
-use screw driver to get the flashlight in the vent (top left)
-get gloves (hotspot bottom right of cupboard)

    Blocked elevator
-get screwdriver by moving a rock (kinda middle leftish on the pile)

    SPOILERS

    First room:
    1. by lights - top right
    2. in flask - by phone
    3. on fire extinguisher - right of door
    4. in bottom cupboard - just in front of microscope

    Computer:
-anagram of Ted Crust = destruct

    Lab:
    -Pa- La- Co = 91-57-27

    Formula:
    -from the colour blind laptop
light pink + olive(top row) + fuschia (bottom row) + light blue (second row up)

    After switch thrown
-go quick or you get infected.
-click on 10 green gloops in order to get the navigation arrow.
-next room, click on 5 green gloops to get navigation arrow
    -use keys on door

  83. gmm, I'm having some odd problems with this Google/Blogger account too. My message goes through, but not before I'm told some odd message.

    ReplyDelete
  84. This game is bugged.

The walkthrough said you can only flip the switch if you have the flashlight in your inventory, yet I can't flip the switch despite my already having the flashlight.

    :/

    ReplyDelete
  85. I enjoyed this game a lot and thought the story was good and the graphics excellent.
Aprt from getting stuck with the colours for aaaaaaages, and balking at the timed bit at the end [which actually wasn't too hard, even for me!] I'm left hoping there will be a sequel to this game =)
Thank you, Yalçın, for posting and the designer for creating this.

  86. Waiting, waiting.... game not loading

    ReplyDelete
  87. I found the navigation baffling - I found the password for the laptop but couldn't find my way back to the laptop!. Gave up in despair - a shame as I liked the game.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Is this a Selfdefiant-game (in disguise)?
    ?:-o
Creepy topic, music, how to find stuff (drag away), particular use of items (click & drag), style of puzzles (e.g. anagram!), favorite in laptop - everything fits perfectly...
& if not, at least an avid pupil of SD - although navigation really needed getting used to, colour hint on lap was very sneaky (ha!) & same prob as @catalyste with switch (replayed & took flashlight AFTER clicking yes for switch, then in worked)...
    :-|
Would have probably been lost forever without hints & WT...!
Therefore thx, all posters above & @RSA Momma Cyndi for your hint-through.
    :-)

    ReplyDelete
  89. I can't believe that there is a computer anywhere. I have a SD and a flashlight, that's all. I have opened the door of the chemical storage, but I didn't find any hint for the colours.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Pascale,
I also looked for quite a long time for the laptop: it's in the server room (where main electricity panel is), almost hidden on floor (look for hotspot about middle screen).

    ReplyDelete
  91. Yep...even with the flashlight in inventory, cannot throw the switch!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  92. From the WT:
"NOTE: You can only throw the switch if you already possess the flashlight in your inventory."

    Doesn't work!Buggy game.

    DO NOT PLAY!!!

    ReplyDelete
  93. I liked it a lot, thanks for the game! Needs a little fine tuning, loved the reference to SD in the "favourites"!

    ReplyDelete
  94. Great game. One I happily recommend

I had no problem at all playing. Didn't get stuck anywhere and the electricity box opened first time (both times that I played - hit my bookmarks bar trying to kill a green gloop so had to restart) and both times I had the flashlight in the inventory before I even attempted to open the box.

Navigation was a bit tricky and the game maker may consider a map in their next game - but it wasn't serious like a train smash.

Hey there Premier. Glad to know it helped :)

    ReplyDelete
  95. I'd like to echo what RSA Momma Cyndi said, and also to point out to anyone having trouble with the navigation....
See the big "M" down next to your inventory?
    Click it. It's a map.
Just look at that every time you move and you will see where you are and which direction you are facing.
There aren't that many areas/views, so it isn't long before you become orientated.

    As for the hard-to-spot laptop.
With the changing cursor over hotspots there is really no way you can miss items unless you are rushing =) Just take it easy and enjoy this game!

  96. never worked out how to post on here. so just trying

    ReplyDelete
  97. That one was a nice trip down memory lane! :)

    A ... what?
Well, you had to be a gamer back in 1999 to understand what I mean. Because the scenario was really VERY reminiscent of Half-Life.
    (Great times that were!)

    ReplyDelete
  98. Ah! Yes, arbeiter - I wondered what it reminded me of... thanks!

  99. Hi everyone. I am the developer of the Macro Virus game. Its my first time posting but been here many times a gamer. I dont know if this is in vain but i wanted to reach the folks who had trouble with the flash light and power switch that i believe the glitch is fixed and to give it another chance. I followed the comments but could never reproduce the problem so I did not know where the bug was. I moved around some code and hopefully all is well. I appologize for the frustration any one had. It was with me as well. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  100. KVZ

Many thanks for both caring enough to try and fix any problem as well as for a brilliant game.

:) When is the next one out?

    ReplyDelete
  101. To KVZ:

Thank you for taking the trouble to watch comments and deal with any problem. To a lot of us, that is the mark of a good game designer.

Like you,I didn't have any problem at all with the torch and mains switch, so I can't personally report that it is sorted, but I'm keenly looking forward to a next game from you, be it sequel to this or not. =)
This game deserves a much higher rating, but some players see "bug" or "glitch" in the comments and prejudge. There really ought to be two rating buttons, one for glitch reporting and one for the actual game.
[My true first reaction when starting to play this was "Wow, a lot of thought's gone into this".]

    ReplyDelete
  102. Rookwings: I think you played the game after the glitch was fixed, regardless I am glad you had a good experience. I am very new to this and I appreciate your understanding (only my second game). Shortly I hope to have a sequel out to my Animal Shelter Escape. Then the continuation of Macro Virus.
