
Macro Virus - Isolation is another point and click room escape game. You are a scientist in a secret research laboratory specializing in volatile chemicals. You were not supposed to come in today but another scientist did not show up for work. Since you’re there you decide to do an unscheduled test in the Isolation Vault deep underground. There has been some kind of accident and the lab is locked down. You must find out what’s going on and escape if you can! Good luck and have fun!

ReplyDeletethere are just too many possible color combos to brute force. Tried using the colors of the powders on the counter (blue, yellow,darker blue? pink) but got nowhere.

ReplyDeletemaryd02893 - I had the same problem. Had to restart the game and was able to do it the second time through. For anyone having trouble with the beaker colors, it's light pink/olive(top row)/fuschia/light blue.

ReplyDeleteI use google too. I'm already logged in, but when I try to comment, it takes me to another screen to log in. So, I log back in, with the same account I'm already logged in with, then I'm finally able to comment. Today I'm having to do it every single time.

- you need 4 pieces of metal to make the key and get out
Room with out of control plant:
-on the floor is a letter giving you a clue to the laptop (right side on floor)
-the map gives dates and states which is half the lab door clue
-the table of elements gives you the rest of the lab door clue
-once the plant is killed, use the gloves to get the key (hotspot just above the skeleton's head)
Bathroom:
-use screw driver to get the flashlight in the vent (top left)
-get gloves (hotspot bottom right of cupboard)
Blocked elevator
-get screwdriver by moving a rock (kinda middle leftish on the pile)
SPOILERS
First room:
1. by lights - top right
2. in flask - by phone
3. on fire extinguisher - right of door
4. in bottom cupboard - just in front of microscope
Computer:
-anagram of Ted Crust = destruct
Lab:
-Pa- La- Co = 91-57-27
Formula:
-from the colour blind laptop
light pink + olive(top row) + fuschia (bottom row) + light blue (second row up)
After switch thrown
-go quick or you get infected.
-click on 10 green gloops in order to get the navigation arrow.
-next room, click on 5 green gloops to get navigation arrow
-use keys on door

I enjoyed this game a lot and thought the story was good and the graphics excellent.
ReplyDeleteAprt from getting stuck with the colours for aaaaaaages, and balking at the timed bit at the end [which actually wasn't too hard, even for me!] I'm left hoping there will be a sequel to this game =)

ReplyDeleteI found the navigation baffling - I found the password for the laptop but couldn't find my way back to the laptop!. Gave up in despair - a shame as I liked the game.

Creepy topic, music, how to find stuff (drag away), particular use of items (click & drag), style of puzzles (e.g. anagram!), favorite in laptop - everything fits perfectly...
& if not, at least an avid pupil of SD - although navigation really needed getting used to, colour hint on lap was very sneaky (ha!) & same prob as @catalyste with switch (replayed & took flashlight AFTER clicking yes for switch, then in worked)...

I can't believe that there is a computer anywhere. I have a SD and a flashlight, that's all. I have opened the door of the chemical storage, but I didn't find any hint for the colours.

ReplyDeleteI also looked for quite a long time for the laptop: it's in the server room (where main electricity panel is), almost hidden on floor (look for hotspot about middle screen).

Didn't get stuck anywhere and the electricity box opened first time (both times that I played - hit my bookmarks bar trying to kill a green gloop so had to restart) and both times I had the flashlight in the inventory before I even attempted to open the box.
Navigation was a bit tricky and the game maker may consider a map in their next game - but it wasn't serious like a train smash.

Click it. It's a map.
Just look at that every time you move and you will see where you are and which direction you are facing.
There aren't that many areas/views, so it isn't long before you become orientated.
As for the hard-to-spot laptop.
With the changing cursor over hotspots there is really no way you can miss items unless you are rushing =) Just take it easy and enjoy this game!

I dont know if this is in vain but i wanted to reach the folks who had trouble with the flash light and power switch that i believe the glitch is fixed and to give it another chance. I followed the comments but could never reproduce the problem so I did not know where the bug was. I moved around some code and hopefully all is well. I appologize for the frustration any one had. It was with me as well. Thanks.

Like you,I didn't have any problem at all with the torch and mains switch, so I can't personally report that it is sorted, but I'm keenly looking forward to a next game from you, be it sequel to this or not. =)
This game deserves a much higher rating, but some players see "bug" or "glitch" in the comments and prejudge. There really ought to be two rating buttons, one for glitch reporting and one for the actual game.
[My true first reaction when starting to play this was "Wow, a lot of thought's gone into this".]
Rookwings: I think you played the game after the glitch was fixed, regardless I am glad you had a good experience. I am very new to this and I appreciate your understanding (only my second game). Shortly I hope to have a sequel out to my Animal Shelter Escape. Then the continuation of Macro Virus.
