  1. Okay, hope this one is easier than the sword one.
    Got a map to start.

  2. The revolving face clue doesn't seem to work on the little box puzzle - maybe I'm doing it wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Oh.. it revolves both directions - I am no nearer a result LOL

    ReplyDelete
  4. Ah got the box open: look at the page.. after the arrow sign, find those on the turnable face. Then put them in backward (first is tulip shape.. )

    ReplyDelete
  5. The "map" tells you which symbols to use on the box. The revolving face indicates matching symbols to each of the signs on the hint paper.

    ReplyDelete
  6. On the map, some of the same symbols as around the wheel.
Could that be a clue as to which symbols to use?

    ReplyDelete
  7. Ok, got in 2nd room and.. died. xD

If you place red and blue, the balance does not tilt over

    ReplyDelete
  38. 4 circles? I only found 3 slots. 1, 2 and 3 circles.
    Is there a 4th?

    ReplyDelete
  39. @roberto: the fourth is the small golden cylinder in yor inventory and goes into the door...

    ReplyDelete
  40. How am I supose to know that? There´s no circle at all in that cylinder.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Thx escapism.
I did not notice the circles.
    OUT now

    ReplyDelete
  42. @roberto: I think the drawings on the wall were the hints for the circles, as far as I remember...

    @tosca: you are welcome... ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  43. Ok. I`m out. I was wrong. escapism post correct weights.
    Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  44. @roberto: yep, a drawing right to the three slots shows a figure kneeling in front of the sun with four circles. And the door has a sun above. That is the hint.

    ReplyDelete
  45. 5 endings?

  47. Jo.C,

  48. I wonder why NO ONE has made a Walkthrough!!!! :(

    ReplyDelete
  49. Way behind - How to get the red key and how to combine the 2 halves of the gold coin, please?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Oh!!! TY, @premiere...I just drew the images under the slider puzzle....so glad I didn't have to solve it to continue!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  51. There's no walkthrough yet, possibly because I haven't played yet, nokra? ;)
I seem to have written them for a lot of the detarou games.
    Just let me play first.......

    ReplyDelete
  52. Managed not to die again...but the game does NOT save for me so I am being super careful!
Now, Is there anyone who can tell me how to get the other two keys? I made it into the 3rd room, but I don't understand the weighing , etc...and have only blue and green keys! where are the other two please?

    ReplyDelete

if you are so inclined to do a WT, @rookwings...I am sure it will be appreciated!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  55. I'm having trouble posting.... hang on.....

    ReplyDelete
  56. Well, that was detarou on sedatives!
I miss the looniness, but here comes a walkthrough:

I won't be giving spoilers for certain puzzles, so if this is what you want, either write your own walkthrough, or don't play at all. :P
By the way, I've only found two endings so far - one after a rapid death and the other one with the red writing at the end.

    FIRST ROOM:
This is obviously a continuation of the last game. You see your companions, still somewhat at odds, playing a card game. That little minx is trying to help the younger man cheat.
You can zoom in on them to see just how they are spending time but you can't affect them.
Fat lot of use they are. Let's get on with it.

See the door beside them? Zoom in on it for a better view and notice some symbols in circles. Also notice that this border is made up of a giant direction arrow.
Note down these symbols, in the order of the arrow, and turn left.

You are facing four hotspots. Zoom in on the large jar/urn on the left side.
Take the scroll, but keep digging. Click three more times and find a green key.
Examine the other three hotspots, and realise that you need more information.
The small box has rolling wheels, so look at all of the designs on them and copy them out of commit them to memory.

Left again - and there he is! The poor long-suffering guy who you rescued in the last game. He may look tough, but he doesn't half get himself into some terrible scrapes.
Under him is a device set into the wall with three buttons, which correspond to the symbols around the door. First you need to place something in that slot, though.

Left again is a giant face on the wall. Zoom in.
Experiment will show you that it moves clockwise or anticlockwise, depending on which side you click.
It slowly ticks back into position, allowing you to see

You might recognise the silhoutte shapes behind the face from the small box.
Also four of the symbols around the outside of the face are from the scroll, if you looked at it.
So, if you haven't already, check that scroll from the jar.
The second line down is a set of instructions on how to open this box using the face to decypher which symbols to use.

The arrow on the note depicts the resting position of the face.
It's the symbol from the top.
For this reason, I assumed this clue was to be read backwards.
So, either from memory or notes, or running backwards and forwards across the room, decypher and enter the rollers' symbols.

SPOILER-[if you can actually understand my similies]:
The one shaped like a "stickman" bird's leg is first, then the one like a manger, then the T-junction, then the cartoon mouth line [also like a bent stick-leg and hip].END OF SPOILER

    ReplyDelete
  57. Walkthrough part two:

Click the lid of the small box, and if you have the correct combination it will open, giving you a half-circle object. This needs to be fitted into place somewhere.

Turn back to face the "snake handler" [haha] and remember the device with a slot that needed an object placed into it.
Consult your notes [or memory] to enter the code into these buttons. Don't forget the direction also, meaning you should click them according to the anticlockwise arrow around the door.
Also don't neglect to press the slotted thing halfway through the button sequence.

    SPOILER:
    cloud-moon-moon-slotted thing-star-cloud-star END OF SPOILER

The door opens. [And snake-man vanishes.]
    Take back your half-circle object.
Click the new doorway and watch the boredom eat away at your companions. They think you're taking too long? CHEEK!

    SECOND ROOM:
Turn left and see 6 lockers arranged around two viewing holes, showing inactive machinery.

The bottom right locker has a symbol of an upside-down mountain at the back.
The one above it contains a blue key.
Us ethe green key on the lowest locker in the middle stack. You get a keyholder/fob of some kind.
The middle-middle one needs a symbol code.
Top one in this stack is empty.

There's one standing alone on the left.... SAVE NOW!!!
Have a peep inside, but if you touch that red key you will die from an escape of gas. [First ending I'd found ;)]
Before your demise, you may notice a squaredy skull design around the key. This shows you that the lower half of your note will help you turn off the gas.

Turn left and see the door back to the first room.
Also notice the pictures either side of the door. Offerings are being made of objects made with one or two circles. [This is just to help you notice something later, I think.]

Turn left - YIKES! A slider puzzle - I'm really REALLY rubbish at those.....
Complete it and get a coin.
[Good grief, I actually did it! I won't be including a spoiler for that. All thousand-six-hundred and twelvety moves? Are you kidding? =D ]
The real point of this puzzle is to uncover the silhouette shapes behind it. Don't forget the direction arrows between the shapes.
This is the code for a panel which is still covered.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Walkthrough part three:

Go back to the first room and the large box with the eye on it. Use the blue key.
Remember the arrangement of the lockers and repruduce the pattern on these objects.

    SPOILER:
one high. three high. two high. Click the eye button. END OF SPOILER.

    Cogs start whirring.

Back in the second room, a panel in the door at the far end has opened to reveal a set of four red keyhole shapes.
Recalling the pattern hidden behind the sun sliding tile puzzle, change the tops and bottoms of these buttons to match the sequence you spied.
This panel is bordered by another direction arrow, so take this into consideration when entering the shapes.
Not spoiling that. It isn't hard to work out.
    Click the long button underneath.
Turning around, you'll see the strongman has caught up with you.
    Another door opens.

    THIRD ROOM:

Enter and have a look around.
You see some stone tables where you can place keys, more pictures showing offerings being made of circles [notice that the more circles seem to depict higher value], and a door with a slot which will take your keyholder/fob/thingy. [You can also put a key into this in your inventory.]

Around the door are six suns which seem to be turning in various directions.
Note the sequence and return to the first room.
Click the sides of the face in the same order. This takes a while, as the return ticks away so slowly, but the only problem is not losing track of which side you pressed last.
Imagine the face is a sun with flares streaming away from it.
To work out which way to turn the face, bear in mind that to make the little "flares" point in the first direction [first left sun around the door] you have to click the left side of the face. This swivels it round to the right, making the flares point left from drag.
If you get it right you will see a small box appear in the mouth.
Click it and get a coin.
It says "Good Job!". This looks promising. =)

Look at the moving machinery; specifically the left view.
there are some shapes shown on a piston.
Either note them down or remember them and then zoom in to the middle-middle locker.
Use this new hint to unlock the door.
    The top symbol is first.
No spoiler again. Not difficult, except to describe the silhouettes =)
    Get another half-circle thingy.

Remember the scroll? Look at the lower part of the message and see what to do.
The squaredy-skull is under a circle which is half-filled in black. A key is under a complete circle.
This means you have to complete a circle somewhere.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Walkthrough part four:

In case you didn't notice, there's a half-circle indentation on the outside of the gas locker [the left locker].
Your new piece fits into the hole, so plug it and open the door.
Hold your nose and grab the key.
Yay, yours at last - and without the suffocation side-effects!
Back out and zoom back in to close the door and take your object back.

Open either half in your inventory and use the other half on it. A whole circle.

Turn left and return to the first room, turn left to face the scales in the centre on the shelf, and put the whole circle into the front of the device.
Now you can take the yellow key.

You need to weigh them to find out their weight values. This will tell you the order to place them on the tables and in the fob.
The counterweight on the left shows four circles. This means its value is four.
Place the green key on the right side of the scales and see it balances evenly, therefore it weighs four also.
The blue and red keys together weigh less than four, but blue and yellow weigh four together.
Assuming the weights of the keys are one, two, three and four circles, this means that blue and yellow are values one and three.
Red and yellow weigh more than four, so they are two and three respectively.
As blue and red weigh less than four they must be one and two respectively.
[This is all much easier to think than to read, I promise].

Turn left and return to the third room.
The stone table on the right has two circles, so put key two in it [red].
The middle one has three, and the left has one, so put yellow and blue in respectively.
Open the fob in a zoomed view from your inventory and place the green key into the slot. This has no circles, but there isn't exactly room on the fob.

Turn left to the sun door and place the fob into the slot in the door.

You see untold wealth beyond the door [I assume for completeing the sliding tile puzzle?] which you probably have to share with the miserable layabouts accompanying you in this quest.

Well, sorry I failed you nokra; that took me bloody ages [Two and a half hours????]. Now you may realise how slow my poor old computer is, haha.

After having quite a bit of trouble posting all this, I probably missed some typos, so apologies in advance.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Heck! I've found a few mistakes already. In the first part there's half a sentence missing, but it still links to the next paragraph, therefore doesn't make any less sense.
The first spoiler I give does not reveal the code to enter. Instead it is the code you need to convert using the 'decoding' face turns.

Also, at the end of the second part, I stated that you receive the coin for completing the sliding tile puzzle. This is utter nonsense. What does happen is that you see a bright glow come from behind the puzzle, and nothing else. The effect of this is seen after opening the exit door, i.e., the treasure [I think].

Bless you, detarou. Yet another great game. At first it seems as though one has to guess the answers to things, but you leave cues everywhere to explain everything.
    I love these games!!! =)

    ReplyDelete
  61. Thank you, Rookwing :o). I was eternally stuck for ages.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Thanks Rookwings!!

Now THAT must have been nearly an essay to write...four parts, and each needs a wagonload of explanations! Just well done.

    @nokra
If you got saving problems, it's maybe because you did not remember to click a slot on that "file manager". Not until a miniaturized reproduction of the game screen is shown in one of the three slots, your game is saved!
Or else, if you REUSE a slot, the screen MUST change on that mini-image, otherwise you'll be reloading the same (old) game next time! (Yes, I've been through this too once.)

Anyway, BIG HATS OFF DETAROU for putting a save game file manager into a flash game!!! Never seen any of those, gives those games a very professional look, and also denotes sophisticated programming skills.

    ReplyDelete
  63. BTW I guess you can't do without that slider puzzle, because AFAICS it's got a sort of magical power and will cause the room to "transform".

But prove me wrong anyone and give me positive (?) reports about you getting to the (good) end without actually solving the slider puzzle.
I *think* this is not possible, but what do I know...

    ReplyDelete
  64. I tried to write it so that no one would get stuck, and so that more people might get the "Aha!" moment before getting to my solutions.
Also my aim is to write walkthroughs which googletranslate can cope with efficiently. ;)

Just tried finishing without making the sliding tile puzzle, arbeitslooser, and I didn't get the treasure.
I'll eventually work on seeing all five endings.... =)

    ReplyDelete
  65. out with the good (?) ending with Rookwing's help. That was a hard game for my brain today lol

    thanks!!!

    ReplyDelete
  66. Ahh thanks Rook, so they refuse to hand you the treasure if you were too lazy to solve the slider puzzle?
    That's pure justice isn't it??
    NO PAIN NO GAIN.
    =P

    @kitkatfox
WARNING: If this was a hard game for you, please make sure you save up that Kanji escape game for tomorrow!!
Otherwise your head may explode. Yes I'm serious.

  67. Slider puzzle solution:

You only need to know the position of the intial
tile you have to move first (tile number 5):

    X X 5 _

    The Moves:

Move number 1: 5 right (the first move)

For the rest of the moves, you only need to know the
direction (up, down, left, right). Only one tile can
be moved correctly for each instance.

Moves 2 to 5: right, right, down, down

Moves 6 to 10: left, left, left, up, up

Moves 11 to 15: right, right, right, down, down

Moves 16 to 20: left, left, up, left, up

Moves 21 to 25: right, right, down, left, up

Moves 26 to 30: right, right, down, left, down

Moves 31 to 35: down, left, left, up, up

Moves 36 to 40: right, up, right, down, down

Moves 41 to 45: down, right, up, up, up

Moves 46 to 50: left, down, down, down, left

Moves 51 to 55: left, up, up, up, right

Moves 56 to 60: right, down, down, down, left

Moves 61 to 65: left, up, up, right, right

Moves 66 to 70: down, left, left, up, up
