    ReplyDelete
  41. You can count how many character has a number.

    Mine were:

    cinq (blue)= 4
    BOCEMb (red) = 6
    vier (black) = 4
    seven (green)= 5

So the code for the Egypt dooe is 4645.
You can watch for the colors. Blue, red, black, green.

    Moira from Hungary

    ReplyDelete
  42. what to do with hammer+feather from hat?

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  63. I'm with you VK, but 1987 doesn't open my desk drawer

    ReplyDelete
  64. Roberto: Some other places where numbers have been found, I think:

floor in front of Monet painting
green plant left of Lab (?) door
    Plant above a sign (?)
trash can in lab door scene

    ReplyDelete
  65. LOL!! The temperature drops after putting out the torches and you can work on the painting

I have had enough - 4 hours is plenty
so good luck with this game

    ReplyDelete
  70. SwissMiss: it could be working. I think you can zoom out after every trying. You can count all the characters even if it is eg. big E or small b. Watch for the russian 7, count the characters. And remember: you can see the colors in the door. Maybe those colors can change in the games.

    ReplyDelete
  71. So my door code for egypt room was : 6454

Thx Moira for the hint !!!

    ReplyDelete
  72. Found it in left plant in Monet´s room.
    Green five

    ReplyDelete
  73. Oh, DOODOO.RU You are so cruel!!!!!!

I cannot zoom the game so I have to read Pavlov with a magnifying glass, and adding his birth and death dates gave me nothing!!!!
You made all the clues different for each player, and my Monet clue is BOCEMb!!!! What the heck does that mean? when I google it, all I get is Youtube videos!

I do appreciate the cultural lessons...I just wish that anything resulted in solutions to the puzzles in the game!!!!

    Dasvidania!!!! Thanks, anyway! LOLOL

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  87. So, if my numbers are
    blue 7
    red seven
    6 black
    5 green

    My code should be 4534?

    ReplyDelete
  88. rbud you have to push the right red button first, then put paper and enter 2009 , then click calibrate and start i guess.

    ReplyDelete
  89. That's it! So, roberto, our code is 6454.

    ReplyDelete

    ReplyDelete
  98. The painting that comes up IS The night watch

    ReplyDelete
  99. you can put the cutting of the picturr under the microscope and I got number: 1987. Not that I know what to do with it, lol

    ReplyDelete
  100. Roberto, it's not the numbers themselves, it's the number of letters in the number word. Who thinks of these things?

    ReplyDelete
  101. thanks, Zazie, I didn't realize I had to put the paper ON the microscope! silly me! It's fine now.

    ReplyDelete
  102. I put the piece from painting in microscope, entered 1642 in it, got the answer callibration correct, but i cannot open drawer, neither with 1642 nor with 1987, help please !!

    ReplyDelete
  105. Zazie, keep cutting the painting. The drawer code is underneath.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Zazzie

use the number from the empty frame after taking the night watch painting with the scalpel

    ReplyDelete
  107. Ohhh got it, you have to use scalpell again on the picture twice after calibrating.

    ReplyDelete
  108. Zazie the number of the drawer is on the picture, after you cut it 3 times. You should first burn out the two tourches in the egyptian room with the plate and the cup

    ReplyDelete
  109. I wrote Rembrandt on the empty label and trying to put the painting there but can't

    ReplyDelete
  110. now what to do with pail with glue and soda and brush???

    ReplyDelete
  111. @roberto what number you got?

    ReplyDelete
  112. What to do now with bucket with soda and glue ? I can´t fix the painting anywhere...

    ReplyDelete
  113. now that I wrote Rembrandt on the empty plaque it won't let me change it, so it must be right, huh?

    ReplyDelete
  114. How do we end this crazy game?

    ReplyDelete
  115. What number you mean aneel72?

    ReplyDelete
  116. Got it! relight torch in Egypt room and "cook" glue. then you can paint and glue rembrandt

    ReplyDelete
  117. Then simply click glued painting and OUT FINALLY!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  118. This is insane!!! We've been here for hours, we found a Rembrandt, what else should we do?

    ReplyDelete
  119. I think the glue is not ready yet.

    ReplyDelete
  120. why Rembrandt, rbud57?

    ReplyDelete
  121. Rembrandt painted "The Night Watch", which is the name of the painting I got out of the frame after cutting out the first painting. Also the name of the game, haha! :)

    ReplyDelete
  122. VK the painting we got is "The night watch" by Rembrandt

    ReplyDelete
  123. How do you cook the glue ? My bucket won´t stay on the torches.

    ReplyDelete
  125. @Evans: Great find!!!! But how to "cook glue" ?? Did you put them -both- back on and how to add the bucket??

    ReplyDelete
  126. Just hold it over torch and color in pail changes to light brown, then it is ready!!

    ReplyDelete
  127. Hold the bucket over the torch.
    I used right torch.

    ReplyDelete
  128. aaahh..Thanx!!! Got it!!!! :o))

    ReplyDelete
  140. that was the craziest game I have ever play. Thanks all of you for the tips.
I think I am not going to try to make a video walkthrough because of the range of answers.

I believe I would never thing the counting of the letters and the name of the painting!!! Very good jod though from everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  141. Yay, al sal!

Goodness, won't a W/T be hard to write for this one, haha! :P

    ReplyDelete
  142. It didn't get me out either, al sal. But I don't much care.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Oh, you have to type "Rembrandt" *after* you glue the painting.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Well Jetsanna you're right, but after all this trouble.. you just want to see the Congratulations!!! at the end

    ReplyDelete
  145. How do i relight the torches

    ReplyDelete
  146. I wrote Rembrandt long before putting the painting and it worked for me.

    ReplyDelete
  147. tikitty, just drag your first item in inventory over the hammer/feather combination, then light torches.

    ReplyDelete
  148. I still cannot find the cable, no hot spot under the desk just outside lab door for me.

    ReplyDelete
  149. now how to hang picture AAARGH

    ReplyDelete
  150. glue is cooked rembrandt put on plaque

how do i get glue on painting?

    ReplyDelete
  151. @purple, sorry i can´t remember where cable was, i think it is different for each player.

@tikitty dip the brush into the bucket and then put glue in frame on wall, then painting.

    ReplyDelete
  152. thought i had everything--off to find a brush

i think the cable was outside the lab under the desk

it was in a left hand corner somewhere-maybe around a pedestal?

    ReplyDelete
  153. Brush is in Egypt room under the right vase on pedestral.

    ReplyDelete
  154. did anyone had the same numbers as SwissMiss to enter the egypt room? because i have and its not working for me too... same problem as Swiss...
    maybe someone there for help?

    ReplyDelete
  155. Sabine, that green Russian word in the plant actually has 6 characters, not 7. Took me ages to stumble on the solution by accident. So I think it was 5426.

    ReplyDelete
  156. ooooh Gordon... you are a genius... xxx thanks so much, the egypt room is open now

    ReplyDelete
  157. Glad to help. My first ever post!

    ReplyDelete
  159. Thanks! You guys have all helped me so much, happy to join you...

    ReplyDelete
  160. HELP PLEASE??? Numbers I have on paper:

    1913

    1892

    1858

    1625

    ????

How do I get into the Lab?

    Thank you oO

    ReplyDelete
  161. gayle, i already closed the game, but there are a few comments about this above...
or you google the pictures and look at their date of painting... the numbers on the note are wrong... the difference between the two dates are the numbers, for which you have to find the sequence... then find the write difference for your last number... the new number is the code...

    ReplyDelete
  162. Thank you!

I did have to reboot so I came up with numbers already posted. But maybe my question and your answer will help someone else :) Thanks again!

    ReplyDelete
  163. HA! ouT! This game was not gonna get the best of me! With all the wonderful..tremendous...stupendous help.. I am finally rid of this crazy museum.. Thank You All =)

    ReplyDelete
  164. The game has different codes and finding spots amongst players, but as the differences fall into groups, I'll write about the game I played and try to add as many other solutions as I can. [Thank you for the many commenters for their own input] =)

    Walkthrough for my game:

I've tried to give as much information as I can, so the, even without all the variable details, someone stuck will find help here.
    Start screen.
The scene of the crime. The chain around this area containing three works of art [the central one stolen] is broken and one bollard is lying on its side.
Mouse around this scene and see the cursor change.
Wherever it changes, you can collect something - or otherwise interact with it.
However, if you click on the hand cursor and nothing happens, this means this object will become relevant later.

Collect the bollard, then see a small green square peeping out from below the rightmost painting.
Cursor changes here, so get it.

I always veer left first, so follow me for now.

    A painting by Claude Monet.
Mouse carefully around this scene because many other players have reported seeing numbers in this view, and I had one here. The word "five" written in green on a leaf of the potted palm to the left of the painting. Click and hold to see it.
The cursor changes over the name plate and painting, but this is for later.

Go left. A Renoir. Nothing here for me this time, but have a mouse-around.

Left again presents a laboratory door.
There are four items to pick up in this scene:
A can of drink [full, you'll realise later] behind the rubbish bin which looks like a short grey greek pillar].
A paint palette below the easel.
A pair of scissors in the plant pot.
A bucket from under the desk.
Another cursor hotspot for me is the fire extinguisher sign above the bin.
This was a black russian word, "WECTb".

I'm playing the game a second time to write this, but the first time I played there was no hotspot here. My russian number was on the floor in one of the other scenes. Just look out for the hotspots.

You can try farting about translating this number [waste of time, ultimately] or simply note down the colour of the word and the number of letter characters in the word.
Do this whenever you notice a coloured number written in word form, whatever the language. The game designers don't expect us to know everything ;)
Look for these coloured words on signs, bins, plants, the floorboards, chairs - everywhere.

You can't access the lab yet, although you can zoom in on the code panel on the door.

Zoom in on the desk. Collect the red marker pen, and notice four old guys on the front of the desk drawer.
Underneath them are rolling buttons which you need to align with the correct person.
To speed your progress [and mine while writing this ;)] I will spoil their identities here, with the dates just below the names, so scroll down from me if you want to look for them yourself.

    Lord Byron
    Indira Gandhi
    Albert Einstein
    Leo Tolstoy

    The date entries should read:

    88-24, 17-84, 79-55 and 28-10

  165. Walkthrough part two:

Nothing seems to happen, but when you zoom out from entering these correctly you will see the drawer is open now.
In this game you need to do that most of the time; enter a code and zoom out before you will see any effect.

Collect a torn paper and a green object, which turns out to be a plug adaptor of some kind [ it will later, anyway].
The torn paper, when you click it twice [and hold on the second click] shows five artists' names each with one of their works.

No more left arrows, so go back to the start scene and go right.

In my game, this scene shows the painting of the Three Bogatyrs which is actually by the russian artist Zhukova, and not Vasnetsov [or Aivazovsky in my first game] at all.
Something wrong here, so feel a teacher moment overcome you, and zoom in on the name plate and set about it with your red marker pen. There! Nice big red "X" over the name. Makes you want to write "See me!" in red underneath, doesn't it?
Now back out and click the painting itself to remove it.
If you've got carried away and scribbled on other name plates, just find them all and use the green square on them. The pen is obviously a whiteboard marker!

If your picture in this scene is not the Three Bogatyrs, or if the proper artist is credited underneath, just find the one which is incorrect and
attack the name plate with the marker.
Some have reported that their Monet was incorrect, so if you really don't know, just try each of them until you can take a painting. There are only four - it can't eat up much of your life.

Don't forget to mouse around to seek other hotspots.
    Go right.

A door, and the signpost indicates that there is an Egyptian display behind it.
On the table to the left of the door is a plate and a cup. Take them.
You can see a paper sticking out of the flowers in the right hanging basket. Take it and drag it [in your inventory] across to the other torn page.
Click it twice and hold to see dates applicable to the works of art, and a "?" for Picasso's date.
If you've studied the Fine Arts you're lucky, but if you haven't, I'll tell you that the dates are all wrong.
Do an internet search on each painting and write down the correct date.
If you compare them with the list you may notice a numerical series in the list of differences. This is not a coincidence.
The Rubens one is sometimes credited with being from 1609 or 1610, but my list worked with 1609.
My example [my list dates down the left side] =
    1913 - 1911 = 2
    1892 - 1888 = 4
    1858 - 1850 = 8
    1625 - 1609 = 16

2, 4, 8 and 16 increases by doubling, so the difference for Picasso would be 32.
If you looked up the date for his "Girl on a ball", you have 1905 written down, so plus 32 is 1937.
FOR MY GAME this time, this is the code for the laboratory door. In my last game the sequence was 10, 8, 6, 4, so the "wrong" date for picasso would be plus 2 - 1907.
    - but wait....

In this game I have a variable hotspot in this Egypt door scene. It is on the chair to the right of the door.. This has the word "sept" written in red on the chair. Count the letters and note the colour of the word [not the flower, if you get the hotspot in the hanging basket].
Zoom in on the door and see a code panel with short lines of colours arranged around the edge. Note down the order of these colours and see a "five =[wavy equals] 5".
This means five is approximately equal to 5, which in fact it isn't for this game. It's equal to four [thank you, rbud57] - so ignore this clue and realise that for this code you will need the number of letter characters in each number. Are you still with me? ;)
The colour order is the order to enter them.

  166. Walkthrough part three:

Before you rush off into the laboratory, just go right and see Van Gogh's painting [plus search for hotspots] then right again to the last scene in this long room. It is an area devoted to medicine, with stuff to get and notice.
In the rubbish bin is a newspaper.
At the base of the DNA model is a power cable.
In my first game I spotted the word "zwei" in red on the anatomy model"seven" in green at the top of the DNA model, but this time I've got a blue "sieben" at the top of the DNA model.

There is a picture of a prominent figure in the history of medicine in the centre of this area, above a display cabinet. This is a variable image, but only one of three as far as I could determine. Mine was Pavlov both times, but there has been Pasteur, and Avicenna [thank you, Tadas].
Look up the birth and death dates of whoever you get and add these figures together.
    Pavlov, 1849 - 1936 = 3785
    Pasteur, 1822 - 1895 = 2717
    Avicenna, 980 - 1037 = 2017

You can't clearly see the name beneath the picture, but these images were fairly recognisable, and you can faintly make out what it says if you have an idea who it is.
To help further, Avicenna wears a turban, Pavlov looks to the left and Pasteur faces directly right. [I think they all have beards, saintj ;)]

This number is the code for the display cabinet in front of you.
Enter it and back out. The cabinet is open and you can get the scalpel before you zoom out again.

With four number words, you have the code to unlock the door to Egypt.
    So go left twice.
Look at the palette and see the same colours as the code panel around the edge. This is a direct clue for the order.
Blue first, then red, then black, then green.
Take the totals of letter characters for each coloured word and enter them in the code panel in the door in front of you.

    My code was 6454.
Back out and the door should be open.

The only hotspots here are the two burners on the wall - except for a brush below the vase/urn/amphora on the right side. Your brush now.

    Now go to the lab.

Enter your Picasso "wrong date" number and back out.
The door should be open for you.

You can pick up a small olive green desk fan next to the rubbish bin and a stone age hammer from under the desk.

While you're armed with scissors in your inventory, are you tempted to snip the feather off that fancy hat?
    Treat yourself!
[This was nothing, I was trying to set fire to paintings and all sorts before I worked out various things!]
I scissored-up the newspaper by accident, too. You should do this too.
Now you have a small slip of paper that says "Nov. 8th, 2009. [today's date in the game].

    Hotspot on the microscpoe.
Hm, letting you loose among the science. Mister ClumpyShoes isn't going to stop you.
First, put the painting onto the easel. There's something dodgy about the date being wrong anyway, so this deserves further investigation.

    ReplyDelete
  167. Oh hell, I thought I'd got all the typos - "microscpoe", haha.

    Walkthrough part four:

Try to vandalise it with the scalpel and you see a message spring out in red from the black screen. The place is too hot - how can you cool it all down?
Put the desk fan in front of the easel, on the floor.
Put the green adapter in the wall socket and then plug the cable in.
Try to knife up tthe painting and you see that it's still 5 degrees too hot.

Are those tiny burners responsible for 5 degrees? Go back to "Egypt" and find out.....

You have a bucket, but that would be overkill. Just pop the cup and plate over the little flames and they will go out.

Back to the lab and your "slasher" impression.
You snip off the bottom right corner, but you need to calibrate the microscope to today's date before you can verify the painting's authenticity.
Zoom in on the microscope and put your slip of newspaper on it to begin calibration.
To place it, put it on the stage, under the lens [just below the top of this view].
Then enter the date from "today's" newspaper on the keypad. If you've fiddled with it at all, press the red button under the number keys to reset.
    Press "calibrate", then "start".

Take the modern paper out and put the sample of painting in.
Press "start" to see a new date come up.
Definitely fake! this painting dates from 1987.
He might be good, but I don't think old Viktor Vasnetsov can paint posthumously.
He died in 1926, and the original was done in 1898.

You've got more slicing to do.
Use the scalpel again to scrape all of the fake off and a beautiful Rembrandt work is uncovered. It's called The Night Watch. [Surprise!!]

Get the painting out of that frame with your scalpel and see a serial number which was behind it.
This number is for the code panel on the desk drawer.
Enter it, back out, and get a box of powdered glue.
This will be ancient stuff, made out of horses' beaks and caterpillars eyelashes, to be appropriate for gluing museum artifacts.
It also needs to be added to water.
Put the bucket on the floor betwwen the fan and Mr. ClumpyShoes.

The can of drink will have to do for now, so bung it into the bucket and then add your powder.
    Gather it up again.
The glue won't set until it has been heated.
    Back to "Egypt".
Get the cover off a burner and light one. Or both if you like symmetry that much.
Experimenting in your inventory will give you a feather wrapped around a hammer, which is tinder-dry, but for a source of ignition, you have to rely on the fallen bollard which somehow makes a spark.
Drag the hammer/flame to the torch then drag and hold the bucket over it.
The hammer only stays lit for a short time, but you can relight it with the bollard if necessary.
    The burner stays lit.

The contents of the bucket will turn pale brown after a second or so, so run back to the space where the stolen painting should be with your concoction. [You remember - start screen? empty frame?].
Drag the brush to the bucket, then to the frame. GLUEFRENZY!
Slap the painting on. Who's going to notice those wrinkles?
Enter Rembrandt into the name plate.
[Someone reported that it didn't work with a capital "R", but I copied and pasted with a capital initial from notepad, and it worked perfectly.]

Click the painting to admire your handiwork. You will be congratulated and the game ends.

Nice game, Doodoo, thank you =D

  168. Thank you Rookwings for an excellent walkthrough. I had missed the other half of the hint paper and was unable to enter the lab but once I read where it was and spotted it, everything ran smoothly. :)

  170. This game is a load of crap!
Too many variations between players ...
Too many "hotspots" that are just NOT THERE in my game....
Too mnay places that I cannot zoom into to get suggested information.
I have tried every number that has been suggested but I still cannot open either of the doors.
    I give up - I quit!
I doubt I will bother with games from this game-maker again.

  171. Ashley, if you rely on having your hand held through escape games you should probably stick to adventure games only.
This game is excellent, but it really isn't for lightweights because it requires that you use your OWN brain for some of the time, even WITH a walkthrough. =)
One day I'll write a game for people which has an option button to skip through the difficult parts and "complete game". That should suit every type of player, eh? ;P
